Hi everyone.

I started to write a post yesterday and saved it as a draft. Today I have logged on to my Posts screen and the draft is nowhere to be found!

I would

To avoid losing content, you should do what I do.

Never write your content directly into WordPress.

Instead write it in a word doc program like MS Word, Google Docs or even a computer note pad.

This way you will always have a saved copy, minus images, of your content.

Thanks Boomer, I'll follow this advice in future.

You are welcome Roy.

Try to log out, wait for some time, then log in again.
Things like this always happen with software.

Thanks, I will try this.

My pleasure.

Go on your dashboard, pick posts, there you can see all posts, click on that then you can see posts and drafts, click on your drafts and keep on writing you post :) I hope that helped :)

Thanks for the reply. I have done this and the drafting does not appear. Oh well, looks like a rewrite!

Sorry! That same thing happened to me today too! I had to re write the whole thing.

Hi everyone.

My training progress is currently Course 2, Lesson 9.

I'm looking for some training on Internal Linking for my site posts and wonder if it is covered b

i usually just link as it makes sense to the reader. also, it can help if you have 1 longer target post/page that you link to more frequently. that'll help pass a little seo juice along to it. but otherwise keep it semi-random and natural to the reader.

WordPress is continually being updated and improved. Here is a recent video which should help

Thanks Marion. I appreciate your time in providing this resource to me.

Hey Roy,

The following video tutorial may offer you the help you seek: https://youtu.be/3dut5jKHT1U

Thanks Triblu, I'll check it out.

Cheers

Roy

Hi,
it is at least mentioned.
Not sure if there is a real training about it.

But, it is not really difficult.
Just link from one of your post to others if they are related and it makes sense.
Use text links for that.

For example, when you are talking about something general, like generating traffic.
Then you mention SEO in that article.
If you already have an article about SEO, you can link from your general post to that SEO article and vice versa.

The thing that is really important is, that those links make sense and help your reader.

Cheers
Moritz

Thanks Moritzs. I have the general understanding but was looking for Kyle's video training. I will keep looking in the search bar for further training.

Regards
Roy

If u type "linking" into the search bar above there is a whole list of different linking training available.

Thanks Gunnertwist. I was specifically looking for Kyle's training but I will look at where you have suggested.
Cheers
Roy

Wondering if it's OK to use my Home Page as the main promo page for my affiliate product?

of course! whatever makes sense. think about the user experience. if you were someone coming to your site, what would be most effective?

Noted and thanks Kyle.

definitely. just consider what makes the most sense from a user perspective

Good to know. Thanks for the information onmyownterms.

Best wishes

Doris

I think you should be ok doing that, it's your own site in the end.

Thanks for the reply. Will take all replies on board.

Yes, it's perfectly acceptable. Just make sure your home page is not your *only* page or Google may tag your site as 'thin' and penalize it from an SEO perspective.

Thanks for the reply and I will take action now!

I have reached Course 2 Level 3 and have created three web pages...

.Page 1 (About Me)
.Page 2 (about the affiliate product I am promoting) and
.Page 3 (one aspe

Thanks Kyle, much appreciated.

you can make it whatever you want. the default homepage for many themes is a list of your recent blog posts, so if you have no posts yet, thats why it says nothing found, and that will automatically change as you start posting. but, you could also set your homepage to be a fixed page. this changes a bit depending on your theme, but is usually in the customize tab under homepage settings

Thanks Paul. This has clarified the situation for me.

Your home page can be what you want and this is the page that opens when a person visits your website - it can also be referred to as your landing page -
Go take my website and you will get the idea

http://perkune.com

Thanks Jovi. I appreciate your comments.

By default home page contains your blog roll. But you can make any page your home page, this is easily done in settings. In this case you have to make another page your blog roll page.

Thanks Darren. What you have said makes sense and I will work on my blogs.

Hi

I found that feedback at any stage is helpful and at that early stage you can build suggestions into the foundations of your website early on.

I'm no expert but if your blog page is the first page of your website then as you add content your more likely to get engagement from visitors.

the course for me never clicked into place until level 3 but feedback early on was useful.

you can request different types of feedback

regards
Darren
