I have discovered that I can arrange my menu to include categories from my posts. For example, I have a blog post for "arm exercises for women" (under Fitness Posts category)w
This is only the matter of navigation, like getting to a room through different doors. The room is always in the same place. The same is with your post, it is always on the same address, with the same URL. So no worry. This is not a duplicate content.
Thank you so much for the clear explanation! I see it is the same content, just accessed in a different way.

Implications if blog posts appear more than once on my site?

Hi,
I got a "love letter" from Amazon stating that they have revoked my membership as an associate/affiliate due to lack of sales. That is true - since I started workin
Just keep reapplying when you get bounced. They will take you back. If you don't make any sales in six months, you will get bounced again, and then just reapply again. This should save your links, as I imagine they will keep your vendor ID the same.
For the most part I've found Amazon to be pretty easy to deal with. I also do all my shopping on their site, and have Amzaon Prime, etc., so I don't know if that earns me points. I don't think it does.
Bouncing people is a creepy way to encourage affiliates, but I guess they feel like they're showing they have standards. Who knows the mind of Amazon?
I do know that over the course of the last five years, I've earned approx, $1000.00 from Amazon commissions. Not a lot spread out over years, but it helps.
I find that running websites and writing content that makes money take a thick skin sometimes, but the payoff is ultimately worth it.
BTW, I do this around a full time teaching job, so I sympathize with the lack of adequate time. Hang in there, keep at it a little bit at a time.
Wendy
Thank you so much for the encouragement and kind words. This has been rather distressing for me, as you say one needs a thick skin which I'm beginning to learn, bit by bit.
Well done to you with the teaching, a most noble career, I once was a teacher as well.
I will do as you say and reapply. I would hate to have to remove all my posts with Amazon links or have to rewrite them all.
Removing the links seems like the obvious answer. I would also suggest contacting amazon site support and asking them the questions just to make sure that you are complying
Natalie, My first thoughts were to leave the posts as they are. But, after more thought, I think you will need to remove your affiliate links. The reason being that your affiliate links will not be valid, therefore they are unlikely to take your reader/visitor to Amazon's website.
Those are my thoughts. Maybe someone else will have had a similar experience and respond to your post.
All the best :)
Thank you. When I tried clicking the links in Incognito, they did go through to Amazon so my posts aren't ruined, but if people do buy, I will get no commission. Will probably have to remove them and try to see if I can link to other affiliate programs with the same products instead...or delete my beautiful posts...sigh:(
Natalie, As your links are not ruined, I wonder if it would be worthwhile approaching Amazon with a request to re-open your account.
I haven't had experience in this matter with Amazon, but I have read many times that people have had the opportunity to re-open their account.
I know Amazon's commissions aren't great, but once you get some success with your links, you will find that it grows overtime. That is what's happened for me.
It would be as you describe it, no commission. But I think that you are formally obliged to remove such links.
When you generate more traffic you can try again, and yes you will have another ID and need new links. Many people are doing great with Amazon, see Jay's latest webinar.

Hi
Is it necessary to have both an About Us and a Contact Us Page (with a contact form plugin) on your site?
Do most people have this - I can't remember seeing it.
Its your website! You can do whatever you want to do! If you like About Us better than Contact Us or vice versa then I would do what looks best for your site
These are ESSENTIAL - I get most of my business through the contact form (which I have on nearly every page)
There about me is also necessary so a new person can see you and read all about you and this gives credibility
YES and YES you MUST have them
Paul
Thanks Paul, much appreciated. And then, do you ALSO have a separate opt-in form (with or without a giveaway) to build an email list?
I do not as I do not use an email list - Hmmm why is that you ask well just never got around to it!
Paul
Yes, it's a MUST - both the About Us and Contact Us pages. These the most frequently visited pages.
You could use a plugin like Ninja forms or Gravity forms if you need a form plugin.
I cannot comment on that - apologies!
I am staying away from discussion threads and posting here these days.
I would prefer to focus on my websites rather than argue or waste time on things, which would waste both my time and the other member's time.
I realized that I am saving and utilizing a hell of a time after the decision. :)
But yes, sometimes before taking a decision like yours on the contact form, I would prefer to evaluate the purpose, cost-effectiveness, and other factors. Say for instance, if you are getting Contact 7 form from somewhere for free and for you forms are not a big deal, why not?! (Even if in a hypothetical case you are getting a better performance from others!)
As far as a Contact Page goes, you can use it to share your social media accounts and email. You don't necessarily need to have one, but it helps. The same goes for the About page... they both personify your website. It lets your viewers know that they're not interacting with a robot but a real person.
