Hi all,

I am very frustrated....argh....here's my problem.

I am using a studiopress theme - it has the genesis framework with mocha as the child theme. It is suppose

echoing what Guy (Giludi) has said- they are paid to support it! There will also be discussion threads and forums out there with dedicated and experienced users too- at least you have your screenshots good to go!

Thank you, sent a request in - waiting for a response

It doesn't look like the child theme is setup correct.

I'm not very good in this area but you have the import url for the style.css pointing the genesis/style.css
Shouldn't that be mocha/styles.css

Same for template name, should be Mocha

That is what I was thinking - I just don't know how I screwed it up. I am afraid to try fixing it for fear of making it worse - you know that is what would happen. Thanks Craig, Marisa

As it is a paid theme, I think you get a better support at Studiopress than here.

Thank you, sent a request in

Hi Marisa,
I don't own that theme, but the layout selection you have is one sidebar on the right, just how I see it on your site.

edit: maybe not after looking at latest post, it's below the comment area for some reason http://take.ms/7Z2Lc

The site is not truly active, I was just trying to get the details worked out, ie, fonts, colors, headers, etc, before adding content and making it active with google analytics, etc... I'm not sure I understand what you are saying. Thanks for looking tho, Marisa

I was going to install it and look at it on my site, but I am not finding it in the themes we offer through wordpress. Did you download it and install on your site yourself? You may need to remove it and reinstall it incase something is corrupt

Thanks, it's a premium theme.

Wish I could help I don't have that theme do they have a support line? If you purchased it they should support it.

Thanks, Wayne, I can do that.

I found this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/font/ - which I

I agree, tinymce there is a great tutorial on it by DomW, he walks you through how to get it and set it up :-) Hope this helps

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/ultimate-tinymce-plugin-the-ultimate-training

If I had gotten here before Tommy, I would have said the exact same thing he did. Ultimate TinyMCE is used extensively by our WA community. Support for it is easily available and from most of us, but it does not seem to need it!

Thanks, I have that plugin. It appears that is for individual pages/posts. I wanted a universal way to make a font/size/color change. For example, any h3 would be blue and bold. I had access to a video that explained how to manually do it in editor but now the access is denied, arrgh.

So sorry you cannot get what you are striving for. I do hope you find an answer soon! I understand now why you were looking for something different.

That's too bad, I was trying to make it simple. Thanks for the input, have a good weekend. Marisa

oh :-) sorry I missed that part about universal changes. I dont know of any way to do that, would be cool if there is a way :-)

you would be better off using this one it is a lot better and easier to use. Also it works very well here at WA.
Ultimate TinyMCE

Thank you for the response, I have Ultimate TinyMCE, maybe I'm misunderstanding how it works. It appears that you have to change the font family and font size on each page/post. I was looking for a way to indicate throughout the site to make the same change when using a particular code. For example, if a heading is h3, all h3 headings would be blue and italicized.

I myself would rather set up each page/post separately so they have there very own personality so they do not look cloned. But I do understand what you are looking for I do not think there is a plugin for that.

That's unfortunate, I will put in a support ticket just to see what the server gurus say. Thanks for the input, have a good weekend. Marisa

I had an issue for external validation and remote access of a licence key, which was a one off that tech support helped me with. if it is not the PHP issue then drop support a ticket, they might confirm that similar issues do indeed apply- effectively 3 and 4...Andy

Thanks, I may need to code it in editor.

Please go through my blog at: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/inspiration1/blog/invisible-visual-editor-is-now-visible
Probably it should help you.

Thank you for the input

As I was researching for a new theme (having a very difficult time making a decision) I came across this article. I thought it might help some of you.

It is very useful. Thank you!

Thanks for the link, it is a bit dated - 2008 but presents some good pros and cons about the magazine theme.

Your right but I thought it still gives some things to think about - Thanks for your input

if visuals are important then they tend to look great!

Okay, now you've got me thinking about changing themes on my second site! Good information Marisa! Thank you!

Me too! I like my current theme but it seems a bit crowded.

Awesome! TY!

Good morning WA members,

I realize I am being wishy washy on this decision and I apologize up front for that. I would appreciate your thoughts and opinions on a theme choi

I think that building one authority site is the way forward. People who like cats will like lots of cat images that convey the different moods and personalities of cats.

Thank you, sir - I have learned a lot since January but should have done more research on the front end. Lesson: Don't be afraid to ask questions even if they seem silly. Have a great day, Marisa

Definitely Mocha is better. It's elegant, simple and impressive.

Thank you for taking the time to voice your thoughts, after getting feedback, I agree. I think I made it harder than it had to be. Marisa

I really like mocha for it's simplicity, but if you are going to have a post with lot's of imagery, number 1 would be great!

Thank you, I appreciate your time - I'm leaning toward your first thought of clean and simple. I think it will be more user friendly for what I have in mind. It was a big decision though and I needed some experienced input. Thanks again, Have a great day. Marisa

Mocha - has a well structured layout with a user friendly interface, making navigation more appealing to any visitor.

Thank you - My thoughts were similar to yours but I started 2nd guessing myself.

I definitely lean towards the mocha theme looking at these two. I try to keep things simple as I feel that it is more appealing that way. The origin one is not terrible, but definitely has a more complex feel to it.

Thanks for taking the time. I am definitely leaning that way - your SKIS really started to convince me. Truly appreciate your time

mocha gets you into the content quicker the other one has more imagery, with the rotator, so it depends on which hook you most want to bait...

Thank you - I was leaning toward mocha but the ladies brought up some good points about creating content. I like your thinking about getting to the content quicker. Suppose I should just flip a coin :)

you need to populate it, so whatever you think- that said, I think that I am seeing some left brain right brain stuff on the preferences....LOL, Andy

Getting closer to final decision - mocha - based on a cleaner, simple look and user navigation seems easier. Thank you for taking the time for your input. I appreciate it. Have a great day. Marisa

Hi Marisa! With all of the content that you can create - would choose the first one! Hope that helps my friend! :-)

Thank you - I am really torn - I like them both for different reasons, wish I was more tech savvy

Hi! I took a look at both themes and they are both good choices in my opinion. I think that the first one would give you a lot more options as far as putting what you have to offer in front of people. With all the different areas you could showcase the different behavior aspects you decide to write about and have it right there in front of people. I'm not sure about the tech end of it but I would think you wouldn't have to hard of a time as the dashboard should be a big help. :) Best of luck to you!

Thank you - I feel so incompetent to make a decision that shouldn't be complicated

Hi everyone,

So I'm still trying to figure out all the details of how to work with the All in One SEO - Kyle's newest video was quite helpful

Yes I do use for each post/page! It allows you to custom do your snippet and see what it will look like....

unless you write perfect SEO AND snippet friendly copy you will need to rework the snippet....it is your chance to grab the reader to read onwards and to take the action you want.... A little like a perfect Tweet or very short story/advert teaser- if that makes sense. Enjoy- it can be fun.

Aha! So I think I get it - I can change the snippet from the one automatically developed, then add information to both title and desciption boxes. Yes?

Yes, put a title the way you would want it to view in your search snippet. I just use the actual targeted title of my post. I usually edit the description a bit to catch a readers eye, but it's still 100% relevant to the content. Always enter your keywords too.

Great, thank you - I will do that.

I think I'm right in saying it is best practice to fill in the Title and Description, the snippet preview will automatically update. The keywords are more for your benefit than anything else. Please anyone correct me if I'm wrong. I would recommend this training:

Craig, thank you for this link. It is one of the best training so far at WA. I wish I had come upon it sooner. You have a great day.
