I just joined Chewy.com and I want to put their banner on my site but I don't remember how to do that can anyone help me out with this. Thank you in advance for your help
Hi Mary, to put a banner on your website, say one of the Wealthy Affiliate ones. Go to the $ icon top right, click down to banners. You will see them all there. Select one you like, copy all the code there with control C. Then in your site select the spot you want it and on your post you will see a picture add box. Click on that and add the code you have in the box indicated or named URL. Then press Control V and it will populate your site.
To make it an actual link to you, go back to Banners and see your smaller personal link and copy it inside the " marks.
Now back to your post or story and paste it the same way onto a highlighted set of words, eg Take a Look Here say. Highlight the words and press the little chain icon above your post and paste the code into the URL line that appears in the box.
If you want the banner to be a link, with the whole code it will be, but I use the short cade for the banner and do the personal link code as above by lighlighting the banner and clicking the chain link to add my link to the banner pic.
Ken
Thank you for your advice I tried that but it didn't work When I click on the link it comes up with no banner and no site so I don't know what I did wrong.

Hey Mary,
Please don't ask the same question more than once. Had I known you had already received assistance here, I would not have commented here: How do you fix errors on your html file? Instead, I would have simply added to the conversation here.
When you ask the same question more than once, you take time away from other members receiving help with their questions. Thank you for understanding.
I am sorry it must have duplicated because this has happened with my email where things are duplicating. I will be careful in the future thank you for bringing this to my attention.
Mary
a lot easier way to confirm your site with pinterest is to add the number to your all in one general area.
scroll down and you will see a verification area with a place for the pinterest code.
what errors are you seeing - can you take ascreenshot of it?
Okay, that sounds alot easier the errors are all spread out so I don't know how a screenshot will help but I will try though it can't hurt even if I get at least one error maybe it can be fixed then. Thank you for your help I greatly appreciate that.
Mary
are you trying to add an autoresponder code to your site?
if you are ten add it into a text widget put into your sidebar.
adding code to your theme - unless you make a child theme- will vanish the next time your theme is updated.
if it is to go into the head section of your site then add the headers and footers plugin and add it to there.
Thank you for all your help what about the errors though how do I fix them I am still stuck on that part?
Mary
presumably that is code you added - if so then take it out.
or it might be worth backing it up and changing themes then changing back as that may get rid of the code.
but create a point you can get back to.
or if you have not added anything else since last night get site support to restore your site from a backup.
good luck
phil
Hi, Mary.
What we see on the image, is scc file, not html one, and it has no visible errors there, sorry.
Kind Regards.

Hey Mary,
Here's how you should verify Pinterest: Pinterest: Confirm Verify Your Website What exactly are the errors you are seeing... and can you provide a screen print of them? Screenshots on the Fly Lesson 1 Hope this helps you.
This is the screenshot I hope that I did it right but here are some of the errors to give you an idea. All nine errors are spread out.
Thank you
Mary
The screen print is of your theme's stylesheet, so you don't want to be removing that.
Why would you think that is an error on HTML?
Because it had those orange things on the side and I thought those were the errors that's all. I didn't know
Mary
You should not be into that part of your WordPress theme unless you know exactly what you are doing, else you could find yourself hurting your website.
What made you go into the edit version of your theme?
If this is the case. You cannot remove what is exactly what you inserted unless you can identify them. One thing you can do is to change your theme so that everything will be removed then you reinstall again. However you have to redo everything like analytics, and other codes.
I didn't touch anything I wanted to confirm my website with Pinterest like I said this is above my head that is why I ask the question in the first place that is why I asked for help.
Mary
Thank you for your advice I haven't touch anything and I am not going to I am leaving it alone thank you once again for your help I greatly appreciate it.
Mary
Thank you I didn't know so how do I add Pinterest code then so I can verify my website then?
Mary
Yes, I did check it out and I got it set up thank you for your help I really appreciate it. So now Pinterest can track my audience again thank you-you were a big help to me.

When your Amazon affiliate account does not get excepted and you apply for another account what happens to the links of the products that you are promoting do that all have to
Good question, I am waiting on Amazon to cancel my affiliate status due to inactivity and am looking into other affiliate programs to use instead..at a bit of a stand still even with my last post due to this. Will follow the link listed below to remove Amazon links when the time comes! Should have listened to my gut before putting all my links into Amazon initially!!
Hey Mary,
If you need help on removing those links (for now, because you can reapply later!), here is a video to show you: Removing Amazon Affiliate Links Once you have created more content, and gain more traffic to your website, you can easily reapply to Amazon and then I'm sure your website will be accepted.
Hope you find this helpful.
Yes, I did find that very helpful I really appreciate that. Thank you for all your help. That would be a big help to me for right now.

If your account gets cancelled due to not making the necessary sales, you'll have to get a new account and then change all your links to your new affilate link in order to make money.
Thank you that is the answer I was looking for. I really appreciate this so much. Now I know what I need to do.

How do I put my site under construction I need to fix somethings and can't do it at one sitting? Please Help.
Hi Marmar. I've often felt the same. Could someone please just sit next to me and my computer and tell me how I can fix this?
I know what you mean but what I did went on the plugins and typed in maintenance mode and it came up with a lot of maintenance mode plugins and you chose which one you want and that is all to it. I hope this helps you out.
Best wishes
Mary
There is no need or benefit to put your website under construction. Just make the changes when you have the time.
If the changes effect content that is already published, I would make those changes first.
If the changes effect content that has yet to be published, just continue to save your content as a draft. Do Not Publish it until you are satisfied with it.
Thank you for your advice but the changes don't affect the content it affects other things on my site that needs fixing.
I have to fix my links and some other things and it will be better this time around.
And with me being sick right now I need time to work on things and get things right this time around.
Best wishes
Mary
You can use a plug ins
Go to dashboard
Plugins
Add new
On the search bar type under construction / maintenance
Choose which plug ins you want to use
Install
Activate
Once installed go to the settings of your installed plug in
Hope it helps!
Thank you for your advice that is what I did and now my site is in maintenance mode for the time being just for a little while until I get fixed what needs fixing and then it will be back up running again.
Best wishes
Mary
Hi Mary,
Not sure why you would want to put your site in maintenance mode?
I personally would just make the changes at your own pace, it's totally ok to not fix everything in one go.
However, if you are worried you might break your site while making changes (like changes to the code) then I recommend setting up a 'dummy site' or 'sandbox' as Jay suggests in this recent Live Event: Managing Your Website Design Through CSS Putting your site on 'standby' is not a good idea in my opinion, at least not if you have traffic and rankings in Google. Because you are making your site inaccessible to people, even though you have listings in the search results. Which as a direct result could very well hurt your SEO and rankings, which means losing traffic. Definitely not something I recommend unless you have a very specific reason for doing so and there is no other option.
Anyways, that's my take. Hope it helps and all the best with it :)
Thank you for your advice, Tim, I really appreciate it. But I do have my specific reason for putting it in maintenance mode because that I have had a slight stroke and I have in recovery right now.
So I have a lot to correct on my site and I am taking my time so that I don't miss any corrections on my site. I don't have traffic and I don't have rankings yet with Google and that is why I am closing my site down just until I make all the corrections on my site.
And I also have to make my Amazon.com corrections too because I have not made any sales and I have a new number for my links that I have to put in my site as well too.
I am taking some time off to recover and I want to be good as new when I come back to WA. Not too long but long enough to get the job done right. I hope that you understand and let Kyle and Carson know as well too.
Thank you for all your advice and now I understand some things better then I did when I first started. I am also going to finish Affiliate Bootcamp as well too. Well, I am well enough.
Best wishes
Mary
Hi Mary,
I am sorry to hear that, and hope you are recovering well :)
Just a heads up, if you want to take a break from WA then you may want to close your account to stop the billing. Let me know if you need some help doing this.
Also, if you do close your account, your site will actually be removed from the database after 30 days. So you may not be able to recover the site after 30 days of cancelling.
There is an option to move your site to another host though, if you want to essentially 'park' it for a few bucks per month. And when you come back to WA you can just move it back.
Let me know if any of this doesn't make sense or if you want some more help on these things.
Cheers
Thank you, Tim, for all your advice I am going to work part-time and when I am well enough I am coming back full-time. But all of those make sense but I don't want to do any of them.
I am going to stay with WA no matter what because you are my family and I can't leave my family. You all have been good to me with helping me out with questions and showing me the ropes.
I am still going to work on my site and answer emails but I am going to put off Bootcamp for a while longer and then when I am better I will start up with training again.
I want to keep my site intact so I will just use the maintenance mode for a little while and then put it back on track once again.
I can't afford to lose this site or put it on another host temporary so I will just do what I need to do and take it from there.
Thank you again, Tim, for the advice but I am going to stick with WA because you are family. A family does not give up on each other.
So keep in touch I will be around and recovering too. I am doing well as far as my therapists are telling me and everything is good.
I will be fully recovered in three months and I need to work and keep busy when I am not with my therapists. They want me to keep busy so that I am not just thinking about my situation. They want me to occupy my time with other things.
So what better way then to occupy my time is with WA. And that is what I am going to do.
Best wishes my friend
Mary :):)
Ok great, that sounds good and like a good way to keep yourself occupied while going through your recovery process too. If there's anything I can do to help, just let me know :)
Thank you anyway I got it on maintenance mode so I can work on it thank you once an again for your help.
Mary
My site seems to always be under construction, so, I make changes as I can. I don't know if that helps, however, if a road is under construction, at best, part of it can be used. I have no idea if that could be applied to a website. Wish I could do more.
David W.
The simplest way is to install this plugin:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-maintenance-mode/
That plugin enables you to customise messages to people visiting the site.
Cheers,
Martin.
Yes, this is the plugin I used before. Comparing it with Joomla which has built-in switch to go offline, it serves the same purpose.
Thank you for the information. Appreciate very much.
Thank you so much that is what I have been looking for I will instill that on my site immediately.
