About TimMcKinlay

Hi, I'm Tim, a 30 something guy from Australia who went from working in construction to earning 6 figures per year with affiliate marketing.

I'm not a guru though.

I am just someone who believes you can achieve anything you set your mind to, as long as you believe in yourself and commit 100%. And this isn't just motivational speak, this is what I live by.

This is how I:

- Quit my old construction gig
- Became a "super affiliate"
- Met Kyle, Carson, Jay (and other cool people here) in person
- Work when I want, where I want, how I want- doing something I love

My "secret" to success:

- Follow the training, use the tools, ask for help when you need it
- Believe in yourself
- Never. Ever. Quit.

You can do this. The ONLY person standing between you and your goals, is you. And when you know this, I mean really know this, you will know that you have the power to choose how your story plays out.

Feel free to drop me a comment below, I'd love to hear from you! :)

Hi Tim, thank you for reaching out to me. I am almost ready to go for the premium affiliate level. I am excited and look forward to correspondence with you and others. I have some hesitation, but am getting ready to pull the trigger. I just want to be sure I am ready to hit the ground running.

Hey Tim, I went premium! I have some qq's for you. I understand long term to build a website and the affiliate ecosystem, gaining an audience and following. I will do that, have picked about 3-4 niches. For short quick out the gate strategies if I pursued LeadPages.net etc to build squeeze pages and get traffic there from Ad's, would that be a wrong or good strategy? Hoping and aiming to get my feet wet and move a little more rapidly. I have some marketing money too to resource it, bite by bite approach. What's your thoughts?

Hi Rob,

Congrats on going Premium! To be honest I would focus on the core training here rather than going the 'funnel + paid traffic' approach. That can definitely work but it's outside the scope of the main WA training and it can end up costing you a fortune in traffic.

With that being said, there is a lot of great training on paid traffic and funnel creation here. I would just personally be more inclined to follow the course as is intended and then branch out into that stuff once you have the experience. This is really the best approach I think but it's up to you.

Hi Tim,
I have 3 questions-
1) Is it easy to connect my own domains to WA?
2) do I need to register company in order to make money?
3) if I have more than one niche website should I have separate paypal account for each? if I have one paypal account for all of them- would paypal track them separately where money is coming from?

Best,
Zul

Hi Zul,

1) Relatively easy, it's just a matter of logging into your domain registrar (for example NameCheap) and 'pointing' the domain here. From there, you can use the domain with any site hosted here that you want. This training should help you out: 2) No.

3) No, you do not need multiple PayPal accounts. In fact, you don't even need PayPal depending on which affiliate programs you decide to work with. In any case, you will clearly be able to see who has paid you what, just like you would when anyone pays you.

Hope this helps!

Thank you for reaching out to me and for the advice. It was very nice to hear from someone that is supportive about getting into this linebof work. Also I agree with you completely about bringing value to your customers and I have been thinking all along that if I am going to do this affiliate marketing I would prefer to promote products that I know and believe in. My main business is a hunting lodge and I will never give it up. But through that business I have gained a very extensive knowledge about a liyt of outdoor related products and which ones are quality and which ones are not. Anyways thank you again. You have opened my eyes to a few things and set some new ideas in place.

Great stuff Darik, promoting products you believe in is the best way to go. Because you can feel confident you are running a legitimate business and giving people value, which will lead to a very successful business in time.

Sounds like a great niche idea, tons of traffic potential here and lots of great products you can promote as an affiliate. Let me know if you need anything going forward!

hi tim I wrote an article with many items that need specific images to go along with them. they are not common and I can only find them on medical sites. i took screen shots of them and put them in my post. of course when i went to publish it came back as unoriginal content. im sure its because of the images. how will it effect my post and blog if i post it anyways? can you give me advice on what to do?

Hi Sean,

I would just ignore that warning, because while your main goal is to create unique (original) content there will be times when you will have some duplicate content, like in your case. So I personally would disregard and publish.

thx tim im assuming the down side a lower ranking score by google and other search engines?

Yeah so duplicate content won't rank in search, which is why I say your main goal is to create unique content. But you won't necessarily be 'penalised' for having some duplicate elements within some posts. This is very common, since many blogs (including mine) quote people/ websites for example (snippets of text copied directly from other sites in a quote style format). This is just one example but the point is you should be fine as long as you are not creating lots of duplicate content on your site, Google understands that this is necessary in some cases and actually good for the user experience.
