I am updating my resume. I was wondering how to add my website to my resume. I've worked on it and gained significant knowledge while learning how to build and maintain a website.

You really got some fabulous answers! I just do not see where I could add more value. This community is incredible!

If your career path is in or related to Internet sales, Internet marketing, Internet advertising, e-commerce, or anything in this vain; then the answer is a resounding YES!

It absolutely is relevant. You advertise in whatever way you like. I have 'content specialist' on mine because that is what I am best at - and what i could easily do for other people. I don't advertise by website skills generally because it's not something I want to do for others. But you absolutely should add in any skills that you feel are relevant.

Thank you! I thought it would look good on there. And it also shows I have been working during this time, just not at a conventional job :)

I agree with Steve, if it is something you are good at and is relevant then why not? Seems crazy to me not to include it unless it has absolutely no relation to your resume

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I've done many different kinds of jobs that have given me great experience in all kinds of professions. I figure this is just one more I can add. My most recent job was insurance sales, so I am a licensed insurance agent. But I figure with my resume posted on career builder it may attract some different employers to check out my skills.

Exactly, you never know where these things lead. The more information the better

If your skills as a website designer will help you gain employment, I don't see why it would be a bad idea, Just my opinion :)

I am seriously considering changing my domain name, I found a new name I adore and think is going to work much better than my original pick. I found a great training by Carson o

I am trying to redirect a second domain to another url domain, that is not owned by me. It is a consultant website for Usborne Books and I had the domain name initially to point to this website(the consultant website), but now I am at a loss of what to do? I want to keep my existing domain, but just want to redirect it to this other url or consultant site. Hope that makes sense.

Would I have to start from scratch or look for a low cost url forwarding service? I have not been able to find one yet on the WA site and have looked at most comments regarding url redirection. Can anyone help?

Thanks everyone for your help! I got the site redirected :)

Got many wonderful advices, mackiejw answering preciously.Hope got the desired help.

Ok, here come my 5 cents worth.
1) Getting rid of posts/pages:
No problem if you remove the URL in Google Webmaster (it's easy), just make sure you also have them remove the cache. Bing: delete URL

2) Changing Categories: That will lead to crawl errors. However, when you check for crawl errors, and it's the cat change, you simply click the check boxes and tell google the errors are fixed. Next crawl they will recognize that.

most informative and concise, thanks for this answer

I've been thinking of doing the same thing. So...mackiejw, what I gathered from your response below, this can be done with a little google repair?

Okay, question then...what if the content was re-written, same stuff just different. Does Google consider that as duplicate content?

if it is the same place? Can't be duplicate as the original is gone?

Sorry it took me awhile to reply, got busy. I am now going to redirect my site today. Should I delete the posts/pages before redirecting?

I agree with John (mackiejw) at the top comment, you are copying/moving the content to a new place - so we are changing the google links to the new stuff, thus all old can be gone.
Make copies in notepad too in case anything goes wrong and you can just copy and paste again.
OldMule

To move your website to your new domain, go to this link... http://imgur.com/PXBY61N

Thank you I already know how, I just needed to know about changing the categories.

As long as you do your redirects you will be fine

That is of course also a point.

You should have no trouble as Google sees these changes as updates to your website and seems quite content with you keeping things fresh!

If you delete posts is the only issue - and by that I mean Google has told the world there is a page but if they click it will be gone.
So first question is - is it likely that there are lots of links ranked out there for that post?
If not - carry on, rebuild, resubmit to Google to re-index you, job done!

Some are ranked okay and others not so much. I may be able to just fit them all in somewhere in the new categories. Biggest question is will changing the categories names they are in going to cause errors?

As said in other comment, - keeping fresh and moving around is less a problem of links to nowhere. How many posts would you want to delete?

There are actually about 8 posts I am looking at getting rid of. They don't fit the style I'm trying to do with the new site.

just dump em and move on! Chillax!

Thank you for the help!

You are welcome any time.

I have just written a new post for my WA site and would love some feedback. This is only my second program review for a work at home business and I am a little nervous about how

Personally I do not like to accept reviews from people who have not tried the product. You admit up front you have not. At least leave me in the dark about your experience or let me know of a friend who has tried it. Otherwise the site looks really nice, is well written and quite informative.

I can understand that, though I know most people who have a scam review site have not tried all the products they give their opinion on. If I could afford to buy all the scams I'd just keep my money and wouldn't need the scam anyway lol. I will be doing reviews on programs I have used this just wasn't one of them.
I am glad you think the site looks nice, I do appreciate your feedback. Thank you.

I tend not to leave unbalanced (IMO) comments which are overly positive. Please therefore accept this in the spirit it is meant.
You write very well, you order your thoughts well, and lead the reader down the path in a good way.
I still like the gentleness of your site and its colors. It works for me.
Really- a great job! Andy

Thank you!

Very good, well done, Hudson.

Thank you Hudson!

Stacy, it is a good post. You have done research, put a great deal of thought into it, and you have written it well.

I personally would not call it a "Review" if I did not use the product or service myself. But that is just my preference, not a rule.

The moment I see a review from the outside, I tend to 'tune out'. But if it is blogged as a personal opinion based on research, I would read on.

If it were me, I would title it something like this: Why I Did Not Join DS Domination or Why DS Domination Is A Risky Deal - or something like that.

After paying the $9.95 monthly fee, a member must also buy any product they are going to sell (like EN). This could be legally problematic. They also have a no refund policy, which is a risk and a red flag.

http://dsdomination.com/show/page/termsAndConditions

The company has what appears to be a legitimate product - training in selling on EBay and Amazon. So the question I would have is "How good is that training?", and "is the affiliate (mlm) program optional?

I don't think it was intended as a scam by the developers. But the compensation model has attracted the big gun MLM'ers who will market it to death for 12 months then go on to their next conquest, and the whole thing stops being about training newbies to sell on Ebay and Amazon - and that's a shame. ~ Jude

On my site I did avoid calling my own article a review, since I hadn't actually used the program. I also prefer not to title it a review if I haven't used the product.
I admit I did pick my title based on a good keyword search, and because I was honestly curious if it was a scam or legit.
I think I remember seeing the information about having to buy the product and on another review I found I did see the no refund policy. I chose not to include it because I have seen many legitimate monthly billed programs that also do not offer a refund of the month subscriptions you have used. That was a just my personal choice.
I did go over that the affiliate program is optional and you never have to try to sign other people up.
I wanted to explain if the training was good or not but all the reviews I found except for about 2 were from members who did rave about the training, which I take with a grain of salt since they are trying to get people to sign up, lol.
I appreciate your feedback so much. I may add to the article later if I find out more information about the training and such.

I also agree that selling on Ebay and Amazon can work very well for people but the way they seem to go about it just doesn't sit right with me.

Stacy, I didn't notice that you avoided the word "review". I made an assumption when I saw it was set up similar to the review format - so my bad.

Yes, you make a good point about the refund. I was referring more to the products they sell in-house to affiliates who must buy them in order to earn commission.

Because "digital" products cannot be returned, I can understand the no-refund policy, but it is still a bad look. They also don't have any contact details on their "about us" page. That should be a minor thing to fix. But then I noticed they are still in "beta" - so time will tell.

I cannot imagine eBay being thrilled about becoming the source of Amazon products that can be bought at a lower price at Amazon.

On the other hand, both eBay and Amazon stand to make a lot of money, so they may not want to put up a fuss.

I wonder if this is part of the reason that DS Domination is creating its own product sources site with 1.7 million products not found on EBay or Amazon, or elsewhere.

I don't think it can be called a scam because they allow people to join just for the training alone and they do not have to become affiliates. If those students can make money with their eBay business and start writing good reviews based on that alone, that would help DSD in the long run. ~ Jude

I agree that it may not be a scam that was why I choose to give them 2 stars instead of 1. They seem to still be a fairly new company so they may begin doing better things in the future and I may have to update my opinion at that time :)
I just wrote what I felt in my gut. I just know it isn't something I would get involved in but honestly it may work for other people. If it does that is great, it's just not the kind of thing I want to put my name on.
They might be looking for a better way with coming out with their own products and that would probably turn my feelings around about them. If you are selling your own products then you can price them as you see fit and I am okay with that part.

Fair enough. I agree. I don't think it will be their own products, as it would be hard to create 1.7 million products (if that's even true or just hearsay). I think they are just listing product sources (places their members can go to get products to sell. ~Jude

The page looks great the way it is and you obviously worked hard on the content, it's an easy read. That said, if it were me, this is what I would change:
1. Review several products on the page, not just one
2. If someone is looking for this review then they already know what it is so maybe shorten the review by taking out the "what is ____" section.
3. Don't forget you can make money with negative reviews as well. So, if you have three reviews on one page, visitors can compare and lots will still choose the one you rated lowest.

I really LOVE your niche and look forward to reading more!

Thanks for checking it out. There will be several more reviews on the site for different programs good and bad. This is a brand new site so only the 2 so far.
I am glad you liked it :)

Thank you! I hope it does both too :)

I think this is a great review Stacy! Left a comment :)

Thanks Steve! I appreciate it.

Very informative review!
I agree, you are being a bit nice, but if that is your approach that is great. You gave an honest review without trying the product yourself. The only way you can sure fire say it is a scam is if you have been scammed by them, or know of those who have.

I also checked out their site...
Doesn't look very professional or anything. You think if they are so good at this type of sales and marketing, they would hire a big pro to do their website.
WA's screams professional and is very appealing.

I was a little nice huh? I may go back and revise some. I do believe it is a scam. I agree the site doesn't look professional to me. Since I have no intention of signing up I can't sat for certain, and honestly I could find only 2 reviews that weren't from members, and they all of course think it's fabulous. Thank you for the feedback I appreciate it.

Hi Stacy
Well written review. But you are too nice. This is, in my opinion a scam.
John

Thank you. I am thinking about going back and making my verdict more definitive. I also believe it is at least scammy if not a full fledged scam.
