I'm Lost, To Break Or Not Break WA Rules?
Ok, i'm confused. Now in no way do I want to hurt anyone. However, what constitutes breaking WA Rules?
I came across this following post, and though I thank this person for the share. As I see it, it could constitute in breaking WA rules?
I re edited this post, so as to make sure this is a question, as I'm a little in the dark about posting links here.
my only intent is for clarification, not to hurt or attack any of my WA Associates. I value everyone here far to much as to post anything that could harm ;))

An opportunity came through my email today and in the spirit of paying it forward, I thought I'd share it with all of you. One of the biggest perks I see with this gig is that you get a byline and the opportunity to share your website or your social media profile along with your article, plus $50 in your pocket for writing 750words. If you are interested, you'll find the full details here:
To the person who posted this
Thank you, I'm in no way trying to hurt you.
http://www.freelacewritingriches.com/write-for-us... I modified the link , as to make it inaccessible, it's just a question I have.
like Sheesh, is this breaking rules?
This was a post i just read.
I'm really confused, so someone please explain the discrepancy.
Lost in the rules
Joseph
To Kyle and Carson
Hey Guys, sorry. I'm in no way trying to complicate the issue.
Love and Light
Soooo
My own take on it;
WA Rules;
No external links are allowed in posts. You guys really are confusing me ;(
Feels like I'm walking on eggshells here, something i'm not good at doing ;))

Good point Joseph. There was a person that wrote a blog not too long ago saying they would have to leave for a bit because they didn't have enough money to pay the monthly membership fee. I suggested a site I make extra money from. However, there is no affiliate program. If my memory serves me correctly which it often doesn't, I believe I just posted the name of the site for the person to google for themselves. That way there would be nobody thinking I was going to make the big bucks from this person signing up. ;)
I understand the need to keep things WA related but perhaps Kyle and Carson could create an area where links like these can be posted to help others that could use the extra coins to help pay for their membership, just a thought.
Hey Lean
my personal opinion
I think WA is Awesome, I personally think the World of Carson and Kyle. I also think they are stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Bottom Line
There is nothing wrong with developing and suggesting new strategies, that's what WA is about.
however let's keep one thing in mind; Carson and Kyle have one goal;
Success for Everyone; ;))
I agree Joseph I really think Kyle and Carson do a great job of keeping things balanced and from what I have seen they have the attitude of let's all help each other up, rather than a pyramid mlm structure where only the few people at the top make the money. They think of others and I really appreciate that, something that is definitely lacking in our world today.
Hey Joseph, I agree with most of what you and other folk posted here, a bit of a grey area, let's see what the bosses say.
hey John
been a while. how you doing?
Man it's always good hearing from you
God's Speed Brother
Joseph
Thanks Joseph, been so busy with other stuff lately, but doing great. All the best to you.
Hi Joseph, I understand your concern. You're really looking after the community here! Thank you.
Personally I do not see any problem in sharing this article and the attached link.
The person who posted this article is not receiving any reward from it.
The choice to make use of the link and possible earnings is on the receiver.
Anyway, that's how I see it.
Have a peaceful weekend.
Ron.
I'm going through a very similar quandary.
I've been working for several months on a company that has a great product that I've been using, but has no affiliate program.
If I get them to start an affiliate program am I allowed to let the members here know about it?
Even if it will benefit them greatly personally and financially?
How do I let people know and not break WA rules?
It's a puzzlement!
though you have added to my confusion on this issue, which I thank you for. ;))
Your reply is certainly not ambiguous
Thanks ;))
Joseph, I certainly wasn't trying to be ambiguous, I have a clear problem and I'm in search of a solution.
How do I spread the word to my network that will be mutually beneficial without shooting myself in the foot here at WA?
If you are concerned that it will be spam, then I would not promote it or share it within WA. You can do that on social media or your website. WA will not crumble if they miss out on one thing...they should be focusing on the training that Kyle and Carson have put out.
I know it's nice to help, but when you start pushing the line of "maybe I'm promoting, maybe I'm not", then just don't do it. I use lots of services that I love and would recommend, but I don't share them in WA simply because it can be construed as promotion or getting people to purchase stuff they don't need.
We don't have to disclose 100% of everything we use and/or recommend within the community.
Oh I'm aware of your intention Phyl, sometimes my humor doesn't quite translate well into written word
Thank you my Friend. ;))
Hey Nathan, great to hear from you ;))
I do agree in part with your comment, thanks
However, let's get real. For sure the training kyle and Carson put out is nothing less than mind blowing. As you stated, WA won't crumble because we've missed out on "one thing". That said, we are not talking ".one thing".
I've taken so much from members who've freely given here, and without these members such as yourself, well...
The contributions members make here, is a very important facet, as important as the foundation training. of WA.
Thanks for stopping by Nathan, I truly appreciate your contributions to WA
Blessings my Friend
Joseph
Hi Joseph, hope life in the middle east hotbeds is treating you well.
I too was a little confused about this when I read it but thought the post was made out of brotherly/sisterly love.
I bookmarked the link just in case the post disappeared but some clarification of the spam rule would definitely help here ie does it not rank as spam if the poster doesn't receive any affiliate benefit from the link or is it spam regardless?
Mark
Sighhh, i totally agree Mark.
You know what?
Through speaking openly, about bringing our thoughts, though at times adversarial.
We all contribute to WA.
Thanks Bro
However, does it break WA rules?
I agree with kerry in that one would have to make some coin from their post. Just to share some information that could benefit some members I would think would would be fine. I don't see any conflict of interest. Actually I don't know what I see... ha. Maybe I am as confused as you are on this particular issue so indeed, let's get to the bottom of it..... cheers :)
Interesting, I think it would only be spam, if someone earns a commission from posting that link. I will be interested to see what others think.
but maybe this person found a way to make money for us.
maybe it was a loving share with our community.
I'm heartbroken over this ;(
Does it Break WA Rules?
Morning Joseph (afternoon)!
... I took it the way you described - as helpful.
I didn't see any affiliate link.
That's me anyway
It could help people here who really like to write. I'm still not sure if it's spam or not though.
Hey Joanne
I Love the new pic, thank you ;))
Personally, I love WA, though I'm keeping a low profile, doesn't mean i'm not here.
Huggs Sis
Thanks !
... was wondering if anyone would still recognize me - hahaha!
ps - know what you mean

Quite a puzzle Joseph, I also am wondering if there is a possibility to create an opportunity to share benificial links here on WA, I am, for instance, not allowed anymore to share my amazing free website tools anymore, which are definitally only for the benifit of all members, it is not in anyway an affiliate matter, I do not earn a dime from sharing this link, and the links (156 in the meanwhile) are very helpful for others.
I hope Kyle and Carson can create some thread for this:)
Have a nice day Joseph
Hi Loes,
I think #4 in Spam is No No clears you to post those free items. What do you think?
No promotions with comments or chat. Although these may seem like subtle ways to promote, if you are caught doing this, you will likely lose privileges. "If a link is posted out of an act to help someone, not sell something, that is OK."
Wow Loes, that site is a wealth of great information. I was not aware that you couldn't promote it anymore. Those free tools are fantastic. I understand that just like WA's free introduction version the free tools you share with us is also an introduction. The thing is, without you doing the research and sharing we would never know about them.
There must be a happy medium that can be found to allow WA members to share their findings with the rest of the community.
You are not allowed to share those free website tools because they reside on your website.
You are not supposed to post links to your websites in WA blogs, discussions, training and comments.
Hi Angela, I have been told not to share it anymore, I welcomed every new follower with this particular link. Where to draw the line, if I as ambassador, can freely share my website, other might think they can do that too, that's the problem here.
Hi Joseph, thanks for your kind words, we love you too, I had to ask from Willem, what themperature it was at your place in Libanon:)
He said, Joseph must be used to this themperatures. (28 Celcius)
I hope you make a break through with this post, I reckon there are more website owners here who have bénéficiaire posts to share, without any affiliate profits to make. I understand completely that posts with the intention to make affiliate profits are totally forbidden, and I had some doubts, when I shared this week the page with the kids art, with a father with 5 kids. I thought, would it be allowed, or would it bring me in any troubles.
Hugxx Loes
That would be nice indeed Larry, and further, read my answer to Angela Hall :)
Ai Robert, so I have done something wrong by sharing the kids art
Actually was 34 today sighhh
As far as this discussion, I'm scared to post anything. it's insane...
I don't know. I didn't see it. Was it posted on your website?
But you have a rooftop:)!! Willem says, then I will not visit him today:)!
Loes!! what you mean not allowed to share your amazing website tools, where am i going to get my influences from now then? :-(
Hi Gordon, nice:)))
I'll be alright I got your website bookmarked:-)
I know, and you know where to find me too Gordon;)
I'm sure you're right, Robert and Wealth Affiliate is K&C's business. So they can make any rule they want. Thing is, it is the members choice as to whether they want to stick around if the rules get too binding and infringe on their personal rights.
When you think about it, website design is an art form. Yes, it's an online business but to a great degree it is a way for people to express their creativity. If some of the talented people here at WA, including you, ever decide to bail out because the rules get too strict, this place will go down the tubes.
I really like it here. So I hope Kyle and Carson can come up with some flexibility features with these rules.
Larry, this rule has been in place since before I got here. It is not too strict and it is simple to follow. Do not post your website link in blogs, discussions, training, and comments. How is that being too strict?
Well Robert, this strictness will work against helping people. For instance, when I am asked to help people with some html code, I place that code on my website, and send them over to pick it up there. because the areas here are often eating up all codes.
Yep Loes, I did read it. The thing is, K&C are not computers. They are human and unlike computers, humans have the ability to rationalize. Kyle and Carson should be able to determine if this is a training move or a profit making promotion. I really hope the interpretation of these rules gets resolved before folks like you and other talented folks decide they have had enough and split.
Hi Larry I think it's rather strange that, when someone askes for free picture sites, I can send them over to visit some stockphoto website, but I can't sent them over to my own website, where I have collected almost 200 free photo sites and share double that amount of my own free pictures, because I would "gain" a visitor
Loes answered before I got to your response, Robert. I totally agree with her.
I agree. It really doesn't make sense
I didn't make the rules, I just abide by them.
The simple solution here is, if you have a problem with the rules then send a PM to Kyle, explain your situation, and ask him how it can be handled.
Perhaps, a simple solution to this would be to ask (in public) if they would like you to PM the html code link to them? That way you haven't PM'd them unsolicited and they decide that they want your help? The same could go for your tools page, right? I say perhaps, but I'm not entirely sure lol
Kim
Are you not a bit to strict abiding the rules Robert?
part 1
4. No promotions with comments or chat. Although these may seem like subtle ways to promote, if you are caught doing this, you will likely lose privileges.
Part 2
4. If a link is posted out of an act to help someone, not sell something, that is OK.
When I am sharing my free website tools, or my picture site, or my kids art, I am doing that outof an act to help people, not at all from the point of view to gain visitors Robert
I am not selling tools, pictures nor an idea for keeping kids busy on a rainy day.
Like I said, send a PM Kyle and explain it to him. Let him tell you what to do. These are his rules. Let him clarify it for you.
Ha-ha Robert , really were not trying to "kill the messenger". The rule is basically a good rule. Thing is, it isn't always black and white. There are shades of gray with this rule. Somehow, someway K&C need to come up with a way to be flexible when someone like Loes uses links to her website as a method to share very good information.
As far as sending a PM to Kyle and/or Carson, I'm sure that when they see a lengthy discussion by a group of the top WA Ambassadors they take note. Especially when it involves Joseph, Loes and Boomer (Robert).
Have a great weekend, Robert.
I think that's a bit over the top, people ASK for help in a question or on a blog, and I am not convinced it is against the rules to lead them for this help to my website.
spam is a no-no
4. If a link is posted out of an act to help someone, not sell something, that is OK.
I truly think this linking hunt is going out of hand Kim
Trust me, a PM is the best approach.
Thank you Loes, I'm hoping that Kim didn't take this as an attack, simple example to clarify ;(
You should tell this to Kim:) Joseph
I have. The written word can sometimes be misunderstood ;))
So ok, I'm still in the dark, why can't you share your tips, what's the diff?
If it's ok to share when it's not for profit, you're not profiting from it.
So now how can you share your tips without breaking rules?
According to Robert, I profit, I gain visitors, but I think it's not against the rules, because the links I share are not in anyway gain me financial profit, I am not selling, I am just helping people to free tools and free images, I am following this thread, waiting for Kyle to arive:)
personally I've saved so much stuff you've offered up Loes, just like I've saved Kim's link.
One thing is for sure, i won't be sticking my neck out as I have done many times. Though I hate feeling like I'm turning a blind eye, certain rules, unlike this one ;)) are very clear now. Put aside my friendships and those i truly care for here, I also need WA to build my websites.
Today while driving, i spent a lot of time thinking about ideas on helping without breaking rules. I can clearly see the dilemma which Kyle and Carson are facing. Certainly not easy.
As proposed, to use the PM, but what kind of way you can use with free members then?
I think right now we are going through a phase, a re alignment of sorts.
I guess these are like labour pains.
Though I'm a little less confused in some areas since posting this, your question remains not only a very valid one, it's also giving rise to another challenge.
Sheesh,
:) Never stop brainstorming:)
I'm really laughing now, I needed that
Thanks Loes
It's the weekend. I would be surprised to see anything from Kyle until, Monday at the earliest.
Hey, how did my name come up, I've been staying out of it. ;))
Larry, I remember how we first met quite a while back. you were getting into it pretty hot and intense with the person. I actually commented, said hey Larry forget it, don't get in trouble over this ass.
We laughed about it and became friends ;))
Remember?
Most amazing people on WA have commented on this post. It's been respectful, open and honest
Man I dig WA
Later Gator
I think a simple answer is this:
If you want to help WA members, you need to create training resources in WA.
Your website is to help non-WA people. If someone asks you directly for help, you can PM them a link to your website with the resource.
If it's a new person and cannot use PM, then link them to a WA training. there is nothing complicated they (free members) need to know as a new member - everything they could use has been created in WA. If they want to know something more complicated, they are not following the training properly.
Yep Joseph I remember and I would hope we are still are friends. I have tremendous respect for you.
Throughout my life, my best buddies have been cowboys, bull riders, jockeys, oil well drillers, roughnecks, and motorcycle dirt bike riders. Oh ya, a motorcycle cop. I have this feeling that if you and I had lived closer we would been a couple good olé guys. Time for a double Patron on the rocks, Joseph. Here's to ya buddy.
Sheesh Larry, we became instantly Friends, and have grown so much closer since.
love ya Big Guy

Joseph
Back at ya buddy. You stay safe over there
