About Pledgerwood
Joined February 2018
I'm Phil - a Christian, husband, and father to two great boys from South Korea. I was born at Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines and haven't stopped moving around since. I run a Lean operations consulting / software development company, and my interests range through a lot of nerdy things.

I'm basically in this to get off the billable hours treadmill. I don't care so much about being rich, but I would like to be able to spend more of my time on the people and projects that are important to me instead of selling it for money.
Pledgerwood's Goals 3
Money Goals
QUESTION #1: How much money would you be happy earning?

I would be happy with an extra $1k per month. Although I hope I wouldn't cap out at that, that would be enough to build up savings and investments and retirement without cutting into my budget.

QUESTION #2: How much would you be ecstatic earning?

"Ecstatic" is way bigger than "happy," so I'm going to (today) put that at $200k a year. That would be much more than I make, today, in my full-time career. Since my goal in all this is mostly to get my time back so I can spend it on the things I care about, that would accomplish that goal and then some.

QUESTION #3: And how much TIME are you willing to invest to achieve these goals?

Time is much more valuable to me than money. I don't want to end up working even more hours than I am now, even if I'd get paid for it. At the same time, I know I fritter time away on stupid stuff, sometimes, and I can use that time more profitably. To start with, I think an hour or two a day isn't unrealistic. I also know it will be some time to build up to even my "happy" goal, above. If my project here is financially self-sustaining by the end of the year, I'd feel pretty good about that.

Thank you Phil for the follow and many blessings to you here at WA. If you need any help remember to post your question in the comments section or on live chat, and someone will be able to help you.

I created an informative training tutorial for all New Members that clearly explain the differences between the Certification Course and Affiliate Bootcamp.

I highly recommend that you do not start your WA training doing the Bootcamp. The Certification Course is the BEST option and I explain why in the following tutorial. If you have a few minutes free, give it a read and ask me any questions you may have within the comments section, and I will be happy to give you an answer.

I hope things are going well. I know you are getting rolling within the training and there is ONE thing that always tends to confuse people and that is "what is my niche?".

I know, same thing happened to me when I started.

I just wanted to reach out and let you know that I am here if you ever want to run any niche "ideas" by me or you have any questions about finding your niche.

Get back to me when you get the chance! :)

Hey Kyle, one question I did ask is whether or not it's better to pick a more popular niche because the potential audience/market is already large and very active or whether it's better to pick a less popular niche because of less competition.

All niches have a ton of opportunity within them. There are 3.75 BILLION people online and we are all now more connected than ever. This is the audience you are dealing with the Internet and even some of the most obscure niches have millions of people interested in them.

You should read about this here within a blog post I recently created on this exactly topic: YOU make a niche profitable and that is why it is important that you decide on a niche that you are interested in/passionate about. It will make the journey that much more fun and exciting. ;)
