What does everybody do to get their business legal? If you start making good money from referrals there should be something for being legal like LLC. I don't think you would ha

Do double check with legal counsel.

It also depends on how much protection that you want to build around yourself and personal assets. The sooner you can get that corporate veil surrounding yourself the better.

Personally , I know that I am going to wait until my business can afford to purchase the formation of legal structure for my business. But the quicker that I can make the switch I know that I am going to.

Based off the other structures I do agree that an LLC would possibly be best for our online marketing businesses.

Again do double check with an attorney to work out the finer points.

Up to a certain point LLC would be best, but once you get to a certain level income there can be tax benefits to having your business being incorporated as an S-corp.

Yes certainly. Like I said an attorney would be able to assist in setting up legal structure per business needs. Business is a team sport and a great legal team is just one side of the many angles of a business.

Disclaimer: I am not a lawyer.

A LLC would would be more for legal protection to protect your personal assets from lawsuits against your business.

To be "legal" you would need to be registered to do business with your state. Depending on where you live this usually involves filling out a business application and getting a tax license of some sort. You don't need an LLC to do that and could register as a sole proprietor or get a "Doing Business As" or DBA. I would recommend at least a DBA because that would let you open up a business checking account and help you keep your business and personal expenses separated.

Hi Thomas, Ya,I used to be LLC for a hunting website but was not sure about the affiliate website. Thanks for your thoughts.

The affiliate website is probably going to be just the same as your hunting website. The only thing that gets a little messy is the sales/use tax as an affiliate. Right now to keep it simple I just pay the sales/use tax rate on my affiliate commissions because I don't want to go through the process of researching it to see if I can exempt it.

I live in New Hampshire. There is no sale tax or income tax so i would probably benefit from that.

Well sounds like that makes things a whole lot simpler for you!

What type of page and category did you use to create a Facebook Affiliate page .

The most successful of the FaceBook Like Pages (which I assume you are referring to) is Public Figure .. Cheers, William

I have the same concern.. According to my experience, Facebook s Policy doesn't really help businesses...It looks like Facebook is becoming more and more a place where users are just hang out rather than being interested in any kind of business... This is just my opinion.. I don't trust that Facebook too much in term of converting visits into sales.....

Pat

My opinion is that facebook is just a platform to build relationships, if you are not engaging your friends in PM and seeking to build a business relationship with them first, then your potential for sales is decreased. For me, I seek to help folks, and to do that I need to learn how I can help them. For instance, if they already have WA, I am not going to try to convince them that they need WA

I understand now. That s why I don't really use that Facebook too much. It doesn't look like it can really help me..I'm using other platforms and I have better results... My experience with Facebook is not exciting to be truthful..

What does everybody use to check grammar in their post and pages.I was looking at Grammarly. Does anybody use Grammarly. If so do you have free or premium. Is there an alternit

Grammarly has improved the quality of my articles. I susbcribed to the premium version that even checked if you have cut and pasted from other sites, and would remind you to put references (or link to the original source). The spelling and grammar suggestions are also very good.

When I downloaded the app, it instructed me to add it to Safari (I use an iMac). Is it going to mess anything up by doing that?

I hadn't heard of Grammarly before, so I appreciate the info about it.

Grammarly ;-)

I use the premium version of Grammarly. I have a bad habit of writing in passive voice, and Grammarly will let me know. It's also great for better word suggestions. The free version is also good. Premium is just more thorough.

I use Paperrater free. It has a lot of very good lessons and advises.

Hi. I will have to check that out.Thsnks.

I use the free version and like it a lot. It's not perfect but really does help. And it's a google extension so no plugin to add.

I use grammarly but only the free version

I am using free version and it is brilliant
BUT
I always use word to check as two birds are better than one!!

The reason i asked this question is i have trouble with Yoast and the passive voice and transition words.Trying to figure out how to make that a little easier. Yoast is pretty good when it comes to grammar.

Just have to work at it as Yoast takes a bit of getting used to

I use the free version of Grammarly, it's not perfect but it helps me a lot, it is active here at WA, and on my website dashboard too

How many words would you have to change in duplicate content to make it unique.

You can easily change things around - readable paragraphs titles headings pics etc and add a few more words

It doesn't matter how many words. Just write as you speak. Re-write it in your own words.

Oh by the way, Google prefers content that are thick, like 500+ words and up. With that, make sure it doesn't fall below 300 words.

Just make your own original content, through this you will improve your ranking. The search Engines will recognize the duplicate content.

The descriptions are hard to re-write it is more about the rest of the content that you add to it. So long as you write your own content as well that is where the originality will come in.

It's not just a case of changing a certain percentage of words. Synonyms don't always make sense. You would be better re-writing the ideas in your own words :)

Hi Jude, I was thinking the same thing.I am using amazon an was just thinking about all the descriptions being duplicate content.
