We Canadians FINALLY have access to Gemini (formerly Bard). I just found out by trying a VPN connection and then without a VPN, and it worked!
Anyway, I'm happy I can
Denis, i was wondering the same. I downloaded Gemini app on my iPhone. I soon saw that this is not a free app.
I don't use much except when I hit my capacity cap for GPT, lol. I have been going with CoPilot as well :)
I find ChatGPT4 gives me everything I need ($20 a month), but would be interested in hearing others' experiences.
I wrote a new 30 page book, 5 chapters and illustrated as a Lead Magnet yesterday with ChatGPT4's help. In less than half a day,
Did almost the same, but not the same niche. I'm debating if I'm going to post it on gumroad😉

Hi Denis
I find that the free Gemini is more than sufficient for my needs, which I find useful when ChatGPT4 won't give me exactly what I'm looking for, namely more in-depth info.
I have over a dozen GPTs in ChatGPT4 that I created and tweaked to my liking, so it's my go-to for nearly everything I do these days.

I have a bunch of URLs (37 in Total) in the GSC that are part of a list that has this error message: "Video outside the viewport. The videos on these pages aren’t indexed
i had this and after looking at my mobile view the video did extend outside the width...
i experimented with changing hte width value from a fixed one to a vw - viewwidth- one ...
i changed it to 100%vw and said it was fixed ...
google in google time said it was now ok...
so maybe worth going back through the vids and editing the width factor...
it is not about indexing hte videos - it was more about the viewer experience for me...
I concur, GSC has been the bain of my life but, like you I've researched and applied different strategies. The battle goes on..
Hi Denis
The "Outside the viewport" error simply means that Google wants at least one of the videos on your article above the fold, preferably the one it thinks is most helpful since Google will only rank on video per post.
I have a theory about why this has suddenly become an issue. Google owns YouTube and wants people to bounce off your page as soon as possible by having them click on a related video after they watch one of yours.
If you made the video on your monetized YouTube channel, then you're making ad money, which is a good thing. However, if it's someone else's video and the visitor bounces off your page to YouTube, then it could cost you money in display ads, affiliate links, etc.
That's coming from the mind of a Rock N'Roll guitar player, so take it with a grain of salt. Lol 😎
I've also had the Google "Video is too wide" error. I fixed this by changing the width of the video in the HTML embed code. However, you should keep the video aspect ratio the same, or it may not play or it may look distorted.
For example, the iframe dimensions for my video were 560 x 315. I changed it to 500 x 281, which keeps the aspect ratio the same.

I was away for a while, and when I came back, I suddenly had this bunch of URLs that had that error!
Since I do not own the videos, screw it!!
I'm not changing a thing and not even going to acknowledge the error or "validate a fix".
What is even more frustrating is that these videos are identical to hundreds of other videos that are also embedded but have nothing wrong with them!
I'm getting very "annoyed" (Not to write what I really want to say out loud) by all these Google UNHELPFUL updates!!!
Hi Denis
I hope you had some fun while you were away.
I don't really see anything helpful in what Google has done in my guitar niche. They added more paid ads, videos, and user-generated content (forums) to page one. A lot of the affiliate posts now have very thin content but a fairly high domain rating.
It pushed about 50% of my posts that were ranking on page one to page two, which I will try to improve sometime in the next two weeks.
Try not to let Google get to you. Eventually, everything will settle out, and we can go from there.
In the meantime, I'm looking for different traffic sources, which is always a good idea. 😎

Yeah, can't poke the bear kinda thing. Google can do whatever they want because they can. All we can do as you said is keep on pushing forward. Rock on Frank 🎸🤟
This has nothing to do with who owns the videos. At the same time, I don´t know what is going on as I get it regularly too, not many but takes time, and no common sense behind it.
Even not in the Google guide!
What I had done is that I just change videos and then it is always good. But the problem with it is that there are a few things that take more time for me than finding info video on the side with my keywords but in enough connection!
Agreed, technically speaking, but if someone is bouncing off your site to videos that are not yours, then you could be losing income.
I know, it is right. But I believe that a little part goes to YouTube to see it there. All videos I use are info only, which helps too.
But Partha has found out of this and in short; if it is not your video, no nothing. If it is yours you need to fix it.
oh my, I have so many videos on both websites, impossible to go over and adapt each one that GSC says needs to be done (so much time would that be). At the moment, I honestly don't care anymore about googles SEO, will be focussing on social media now since the last update ;-)
But thanks for the info!
so true, after looking for the posts that lost the most traffic and googling the keyword, I have noticed websites ranking above me that are really sh**ty and worthless with thin content and just 'buy here" links.
I see you posted this about 2 weeks ago, in the meantime it hasn't improved at all!
Like so many others, I now focus on social media, as this is the third time this happened.

In my experience with this problem is to move your video further up your post. If, issue continues try reducing the size of the video frame.
I am at war with google as well.
Leave it as it is, although you might want to click the refresh button on your phone just to make sure that it does load and nothing has happened since the last time you viewed your website.

Hi, Denis
Yeah, it's now in the "Document Overview" icon under the "Outline" tab.
There's also a "time to read" metric. Was that always there? I never noticed it before. Lol, if it's doesn't look like a guitar, I'm liable to miss it. 😎

When You go to your post and click the Three lines in document overview then choose outline and your word count is shown there
I found it, but they have hidden it deep enough so no one knows where it is anymore. Why hide it that far? They will get my opinion on it! Dont change what`s not broken kind of thing if you ask me LOL
Yeah this really annoyed me - I hadn't figured it out either so I'm glad you asked the question. I loved that little "i" icon it was nice & easy.
I have a feeling, for some reason, they're trying to make this new editor as bad and as clunky as possible. LOL :(
I know mate, seen it - cheers. I meant I was glad it got asked because of the helpful answers (yours), lol :)
No prob Dale it is a valid question and glad others know about it

It seems to give out more false positives than anything else. I read one of Zarina's posts about hiring a writer and finding out through Originality.AI that she was producing
I am so skeptical of using AI because I don't want even the slightest bit of my content seen as not my own. I am so very new to content writing for blogs that I am not even sure how to use ChatGPT properly. I guess I have to do more research to see how to be smart with this.
I hope you get the answer you are seeking.

I tested it compared to the others, and it appears to be pretty accurate. Certainly when detecting AI content, as for the human generated content it was not entirely perfect with it's assessment, but if an article is 100% AI it is easily detected.
If it is hybrid (half human/AI) it did a pretty good job of detecting that. From all the tools available, this is about the best I have seen.
I'm on the fence about its accuracy after testing it myself.
As far as recognizing AI-generated, it's pretty good at it, but it seems that it cannot differentiate much of the human written content from AI.
In my opinion, it seems to be putting most of the analysis under the same umbrella, so it has a loooonnnng way to go to, especially in recognizing human written texts/articles.
Hi, Denis
I just answered that question for you in another thread.
Although all AI detectors can have high false positive rates, I use Originality and it seems to work better than the free ones.
I would guess that the majority of free-lance writers are using AI to boost the efficiency of their business.
If we write an article completely with ChatGPT, it stands to reason that Microsoft would know since it own the rights to almost 50% of the OpenAI technology.
No matter what we do, I think it will be very difficult to fool the Google content crawlers.
Rock On! 🤘
Frank 🎸
So in reality, even though it gives out false positives, it`s still the best tool out there. 🙂 I spent $20 to get enough credits to check some articles I bought from a writer and they were created way before (about 6 months ago) all this ChatGPT hype, but it still came out 88% AI. I'm pretty confident it's not the case. I did some other tests by writing a small text myself, and it still came out 78% AI.
As Nathan said in a thread here, it still has a LOOONG way to go to be efficient and more accurate!
Thanks for your input, Frank!
Rock on!
Yes, Denis, I have done the same testing and come up with very similar results.
The best an AI detector can do is find sentence structure patterns that are similar to those AI writers use so they will never be perfect.
However, I do believe that Google has AI detection ability that makes Originally.AI very primitive in comparison.
I only use AI detection for comments on my site because I’m writing everything else myself. That’s the best I can do right now.

I've been using AI that comes with Notion. I use it to generate outlines for my blog posts. Not been called out with any issues so far.
I have writers who are constantly monitored, and only write in Google Docs. We use OpenAIs own originality checker and it always passes as completely original. However you can put the same article into Originality.ai, it says it was probably written by AI. So I think it has a long way to go.
That's exactly my point.
I guess it's easier to give false positive than to really check if the article is original...It does have a very long way to go.
I will continue to monitor the results since I "donated" $20 to them🤣
I'm concerned that some companies will be integrating the Originality API into their SaaS business and it will be giving way too many false positives.
Yup. I have been using a writer for some time now and scanned some old articles that he had submitted a while back, (before the explosion of ChatGPT) and it came out 95% AI, which I doubt very much. Even my own words written this morning came out 88% AI. I guess I write like a machine 🤣

I just received an email from AdSense about one of my articles, saying that I have violated one of their policies and that my article has Restricted ad serving because of adult
UPDATE: Here is a copy of an email I just received!
Dear Publisher,
This Google Publisher Policy Report gives you an overview of recent activity related to violations found on specific pages of your websites. As enforcement statuses may change over time, please refer to the "Page-level enforcements" section of the AdSense Policy Center for the current list of active violations.
Please note this report doesn’t cover violations that may happen on an overall site or account level. You may be notified by a separate email if site or account level violations are found. Ads will continue to serve where no policy violations have been found, either at the page- or site-level.
In the last 24 hours:
1 page-level review request was received. You'll be notified when the review is completed.
1 page was reviewed at your request and no policy violations were found on the page at the time of the review. Ad serving will be restored on this page and your monthly review limit will be credited.
Further details on enforcements can be found in the AdSense Help Center. To learn more about our program policies, please view the AdSense Program Policies.
Kind regards,
Google Publisher Policy
Correct Denis, which is why I suggested that you not change anything, if you were sure the accusation was unfounded.
Actually I took down an embedded YouTube video (from someone else) and an external link before your posted your comment.
The core of the article wasn't changed.
But you had a very valid point!
Thank you for your input Trish🙂
Well, guess I was a bit late coming to the table with my comment then, huh... LOL!
Smarten up Trish!!!! 😉
So-called AI strikes again? It's just software with a poorly written algorithm. Getting human eyeballs onto it SHOULD resolve the issue.
Hey Denis,
The explanation is right there in there notice to you...
"To resolve the issues, you can ... request a review, ... the violating pages."
I would simply submit a request for a review to be done.
From what I've gathered reading over your and Diane's chat, someone... maybe even your competition... may have complained JUST to cause you problems.
When Google searching to see if a visitor can complain to Adsense... yupper! They can... and give how busy their staff is, it is most likely easier for them to simply shut down the ads and notify the supposed guilty party.
Your contacting them for a review, explaining your shock... MAY put the complainer on a list of people whose complaints are no longer taken serious... though that I cannot swear to.
Google having been sued and lost the law suit in the past, has them being a LOT more careful now.
Just my 2¢ worth...
I made "some" changes, but there is nothing sexual on my whole website. And contacting them is like trying to speak to the pope in person. I just sent my page/blog post (It's only this one article that has been flagged) to be reviewed. It says it can take up to 1 week or longer 🤔
Yeah Denis, I gathered that from yours and Diane's conversation below... which was why I said what I did.
You really can't blame Google. If we ever suffered a law suit like they did, we'd be reluctant too, I'm sure.
And, it is way easier for them to simply suspend an account until the account owner comes forward asking for a review.
Personally, I would not have made ANY changes, so they could see for themselves.
Now they won't put that complainer on a list because you've made changes... though, that too is my guess.
You have fantastic responses here; kindly let us know if you require additional assistance. I hope you have figured it out.
Hi - here is a link to their explanation of what that policy entails.

Nothing in that list is on my website anywhere. I just don't understand.
Could it be from someone doing some false reporting?
Hmm, but why just pick one post?
Unless you slated the company, and they are trying to get it removed!
Do you want to send me a link to it, and I will have a look?
