Having a problem with Canva. Trying to download a premium pic and it says I am not allowed to download a premium pic alone and that it must be part of a larger design. I paid f

You can copy and paste the same thing, and then you can download it. This has happened to me before. It's easy peasy lemon squeezy!!!

Something may have changed, and that's a turnaround.

Click CTRL + copy; CTRL + paste > Download > Done (Windows)

Or for Macs

Command + C; Command + V > Download > Done

When I copy on the pic it does not copy the image but a canva link to the image. and where would I paste it to?

Just click on the image; don't do anything else

Click CTRL + copy; CTRL + paste

Or for Macs

Command + C; Command + V

Download > Done

It is really simple :)

Are you saying that you copy the pic and then you paste it right over that same pic and then download? I am realizing now that I think that’s what you meant. I’ll try that next time, but I did figure out how to add elements

BYE BYE Canva!

Found a decent alternate: Depositphotos.com

I purchased a LIFETIME membership for a very small fee through APPSUMO.com

I get 100 downloads per month and also up to 100 AI generated photos.

If you need more than that you can purchase more codes.

Lifetime access for one small fee.

BYE BYE Canva!! Good Riddance

39 dollars (Regular price is $300)

Maybe not as good as Canva but not bad

Hi - I have a Canva Premium account and use it every single day for all my projects.

Creating featured images for my websites, resizing website images, creating videos for YouTube, Instagram, and Pinterest, creating Pinterest pins, removing backgrounds, adding text to images, creating logos, and YouTube thumbnails, creating banners, adding animation, etc.

But, if none of this interests you, then simply paying for images elsewhere could be a better option.

I love my Canva and am learning more and more awesome things to do with it all the time. I just noticed Diane's comment and agree; there is so much in Cava. I'm going to stick with it :-)

Just letting you know Mark that the AppSumo deal is 100 one-time image downloads and is not a monthly recurring thing.

So you are paying $39 for 100 images and that is it.

Diane,

How do you download photos for your blog posts? If I can do that then Canva is worth it. It just is no longer working for me any longer. I used to be able to download pics but it won't let me unless I put it into a broader design or add elements to it

oops. you are right! what a bummer. Thanks for pointing that out. I will check into this more

OK then.
Best of luck Mark.

Not sure what's up with the hostility as I was genuinely (along with others) trying to help you.

You are right. I did not realize that. But it is 100 downloads of regular pics plus 100 AI generated photos. Not sure. I can get a refund but I think I will keep it until exhausted. 39 bucks for 200 pics not too bad

I am also a member of DepositPhotos, lol. I have 400-lifetime images I can use :) I got a good deal from AppSumo...

Haha! I just noticed Jay also mentioned it. :)

Can you explain how you are using it? If I cannot download the photos alone than how should I use it to put photos in my blogs. Can you please detail how you do it because I would like to keep canva if I can learn how to use it properly

Thanks.

what hostility are you talking about Jay? I was not being hostile at all. I appreciate your help and I think you must have misunderstood me somewhere.

Yes and he pointed out it is one time use. I originally thought it was per month. But it makes sense that it’s only once if you think about it. Why would anybody sell me a 100 photos a month for a one time $39 fee that sounds too good to be true should’ve realized. Still not a bad deal

now I just gotta figure out how to use photos from Canva. I mean, I paid a year subscription. I should be able to use her photos. And I had no problem about a month ago or so all of a sudden now I can’t do it. It doesn’t allow

you have 400 photos plus 200 AI photos available. How long ago did you purchase these?

Make sure to use them up

See my comment top, really easy, copy and paste the same thing lol

Months ago, I forgot, lol - I got it Apr 15, 2023. All I had to do was click on the plan history.

Canva is a design platform, not an image repository.

You should be using it to create unique images for your website.

At its most basic, you could add text to the image, the name of your website or the title of your post.

Google, and your readers, likes to see something new and eye-catching, not the same image that has been used on thousands of other websites.

thanks. I will add an element to it. I will play around with it and hopefully figure it out

thanks Diane,

I was able to add an element and was really easy. So Canva is not going BYE BYE

Thanks for your help!!

Due to CCC, any download must have an element in it. If you download to jpg or png, all require one element. If you download the photo without an element, you must use a public link and copyright link because it's not your photo. Adding an element makes it look like it is yours, so that is a new thing that Canva Pro now requires.

I have been having the same problem. The chat help at Canvas said it's always been like that, but I was like, "No," it hasn't, lol.

Try putting something else on there, they suggested a black "text" box.

You can edit it out when you're done, but you have to hold your mouse on the image and hold down "shift" so it grabs the whole thing. Then it will work.

I have never had to do it that way, and I hope it helps you out. It was very frustrating.

You can add anything, I just do a black text box out of the way so it doesn't come through when i download.

they are full of it. It was not always that way. I was always able to download the photo by itself. So if I cannot download photos alone then why pay for premium version? I will revert back to free version when my year subscription ends.

I know that's what they are saying now.
The workaround has been doing the trick, and it is less frustrating now than it works.

what is the work around???? I would like to know.

Um... I told you in my comment, I wrote it all out, lol. That whole adding the empty text box or another element.

I find if you open a new design you pull the pro picture over into it and download as a jpeg it works

I do not understand. How to I "pull" the pro pic into another design?

I literally pull it across into the design

That is a great Idea! Thanks Catherine

Well, I tried pulling in. It doesn’t pull. But any case I just added an element. I added a border around the picture. And then it allow me to download. The reality is in the post. I don’t see much difference with the border or The border. The main thing is I got it to work and thanks for your help and everyone else who posted on this.

Has anyone tried invideo AI? I signed up for their free account and tried it out.

Hi Mark, I'm not sure if it was this one in particular, but last year, I tried a platform that created videos like Invideo. To my dismay, it had to be manually approved by a human, and it was during the weekend, and nobody was there to approve it.

Imagine an AI video creation platform that has to be approved by a human before I can even see the results, and nobody is available because it was on the weekend!!!

Well, I was NOT impressed, so I never got around to doing anything with it and just asked for my money back!

I am writing this while waiting on my 2nd attempt at AI videos to see if anything will come out of it. I will be back when I have received my "free" trial video. 🙂

Actually, I find this one pretty cool! What I did was I asked Gemini to summarize an article I had written in less than 3600 characters (Invideo's limit), and Invideo created a very cool presentation of my article!

I'm now certain this is NOT the same platform I tried last year!

Thank you, Mark, for sharing this! I will definitely look into an upgrade since the free plan does not allow for export and is full of watermarks and branding.

Thank you for sharing, I am always on the lookout for cool tools to experiment with.

Your welcome. Have fun with it. Let me know how it goes

I just got finished with one under the free account. It's pretty amazing! It took a couple tries, but it came pretty dang close to what I described in a paragraph.

I even uploaded it as part of a YouTube video I made to go along with it.

I may upgrade too since it can expand alot on my use of the YT platform.

Thanks for introducing me to this new tool, @Markh613

Sure. My pleasure. I actually found a “quote by accident.” I simply did a Google search for text video. I looked at a couple apps that came up and this one looked pretty good. I tried it. I have to kinda play with it more and we’ll see what. But as you said, it seems pretty good. What I did is I actually believe it or not copied and pasted an entire article from my website. I wasn’t able to get the whole thing in there because my articles has more words than it allows. But it came up with a pretty good video. And they eat it even added some stuff that I’d even have in my article. It was quite cool. I’ll have to play around with it. I’m thinking of making a YouTube channel. But I don’t feel comfortable having my face on on the video so I’m thinking of doing faceless with something like this. I’ll look into it more. Good luck with it.

Hi Mark

I played around with a demo version quite a while ago and thought it had potential.

How are you finding it?

Video AI is getting ready to do to video platforms what AI did to text search engines.

Frank 🎸

I made one video. Was pretty good but of course could be better. There was an option to prompt it afterwards to make edits. I did not have a chance to do that. I would like to play around with a little bit more and I’ll see you. I do not have a YouTube channel right now. But I’m thinking that if this will work, maybe I can make some videos Be great. I’m gonna consider that.

That's the way to do it, Mark. First, find the AI tech that works for you, and then get rolling with videos.

I'm thinking of starting a YouTube channel, but I don't have time to work on my site and do videos. Videos seem like the best bet right now if you can only do one.

Thanks for the info! 😎
Frank 🎸

Like you, Frank, I have no time I’m so busy in my practice. But I want to tell you something kind of cool. I just found out an acquaintance of mine who is an attorney Retired from his firm. He opened a YouTube channel. And he does that full-time now. I don’t know how much he’s earning, but supposedly he’s earning enough to support his family With his YouTube channel. I think that’s very cool.

Hi Mark

Yeah, there's definitely money in monetizing YouTube once you build your audience, and you don't need a website, although combining them can give awesome results. 😎

Frank 🎸

My friend actually did not have any website before he started his YouTube channel. He’s not into blogging websites. What he did was, he made a YouTube channel and he combined discussing politics along with Issues with the law. And he has a huge following. My nephew just married his daughter. And he did an hours long About how great The bride and groom. He does a lot of stuff. People like it. It was always a dream of his and he built it up from scratch again with no blog websites at all. Through from itself, and also, I believe some advertisements. Also has a link for people to donate to him

Yeah, very cool, Mark! 👍😎

Frank 🎸

I tried to once, but my computer is sooo old, it booted me off and laughed at me. Something about a driver being outdated. Perhaps it's time to take this 1982 version of apple and upgrade it to Windows '95??

With the old versions, you can do so much more... System sophistication isn't everything
