Hey, my names Dale & welcome to my WA profile.

For me, generating a full-time income online was always a dream but I never thought it would be possible for me to actually achieve it.

Anyway, to cut a long story short it turns out that it was!

Thanks to affiliate marketing I've been able to leave my job as an electrician & now I do this "internet marketing thing" full-time, working remotely from literally wherever I can grab an internet connection.

Whilst it didn't happen overnight it's quite crazy that it happened at all - considering that back when I first started out I'd never even heard of affiliate marketing before.

It just shows that as long as you dedicate yourself literally anything is possible regardless of who you are or what background you've come from.

I love being a part of the Wealthy Affiliate community, the people here are so friendly & it's great seeing new members joining & finding success online.

I'm still in the process of setting everything up and so far it's been painless. I've been through this with a few other sites and WA is by far the best i've worked with. I do have a question. My niche is in Health and Fitness. I know a lot about this since I've been a body builder for 40 years. So I want to promote products that I know people that workout are going to need to get to accomplish getting the body they desire. My question is do I need to just pick one product to promote. For example: pre workout or protein powder or any other supplement?
Reply
Dale123 Premium
Well I'm certainly glad to hear that :) and regarding your product selection, no - you don't need to restrict yourself to just 1 product. You can promote as many as you like... For example you could create a post about "the best pre-workout regime" and promote a pre-workout product... Then create another post about "the best post-workout regime" promoting other relevant products :)

Thank you. Was hoping you were gonna day that.

Hi Antmorie,
You could use your protein powder and other supplements. Don't go too broad, but you need to remember you will be using keywords to write numerous articles on your niche. Focus on solutions for the visitors and not just sales. Sales come when they are comfortable with a solution to their problem. It might be weight loss or how to get healthier and what works for that. Look around at others websites and see what you might focus on.
Good luck.

So i got into the amazon affialiate program, and i copied the link to the product and now i am on my website editing the post and when i insert a url it changes the end of it, there is a code “linkid=numbers” the amazon link is right but the post changes the numbers and i dont know why
Reply
Dale123 Premium
Hmmm that's weird, never heard of it doing that before. All the content from your profile here at WA seems to have gone too so I can't find the link to your site any more.

What should i do?
Reply
Dale123 Premium
Try adding a plugin like PrettyLinks & using that - that way you can add your affiliate links into that & then just paste the "nicer" links that it gives you (without all the numbers in).

Hello, so i made a site about gaming and one of my menus is consoles and there i will post all different consoles like xbox ps4 aswell as have a drop down list and then i want to put products there but whenever i publish a post to the consoles page, it goes on my home page aswell, any help? Also how do i put pictures?
Reply
Dale123 Premium
To stop posts appearing on your homepage you can set a static homepage, and you can find training on how to do that here: Not sure what you mean about how to "put" pictures though. If you just mean you want to add pictures to your posts then this training will help:

Dale, I certainly appreciate your honest letter. As a widow 3+ years I have looked into so many sales companies and was still looking when Barefoot Writer showed up without my searching. I had never heard of any of this company. I have chosen the Christian market, as I am a Christian and will love it. Thank you for being so kind.

Hi Dale, nice to meet you. I really hope I can make money through affiliate marketing. You see, I am currently disabled due to end-stage kidney disease and I go to dialysis three times a week. My fear is that I am technologically challenged and I don’t even own a computer. I always just use my iPad. Can I do this with an iPad or do I need to get a computer or laptop? I’d appreciate any advice you can share.
Reply
Dale123 Premium
Everyone was once technologically challenged - it's a case of learning, which is what WA is all about... And well I personally prefer a PC, but I've seen people working here from literally just a smartphone.... So the bottom line is if you really want to make it work, you'll likely find a way :)

Ok, I think I have narrowed my niche down to 3 from 20, so which of these 3 would be the best one to start with? Most potential to monetize? This Niche thing has been a major block for me. I can never seem to refine it.
restaurant reviews
healthy eating/nutrition/supplements
boats of all kinds
Reply
Dale123 Premium
Which one are you most passionate about? Also, I would narrow them down - for example "boats of all kinds", why not go for a specific type of boat? Canal boats as a niche for example. That way you would be building a much more targeted audience.
Reply
Sheryl-W Premium
The one that jumped at me the highest was boats...
I thought if I left it broad, it would give me more blog material since my first interest in grade school was tall ships. Then I moved into sailing and canoeing, so those would be my next two to discuss or open discussions in. I can do the style of boat comparisons, discuss trips, but the big question is whether there is any way to monetize this subject. I think the other two may be easier to monetize, but if this one is monetizable, then I think there could be more money in this, however, boats aren't usually a need, just a want. Sorry, I am detail oriented person, and sometimes it really slows me down!
Reply
Dale123 Premium
Honestly, there's a way to monetize pretty much anything & everything. Depending on the content of your website you could promote boats themselves, or alternatively you could promote boat related items - such as maybe books... "the history of tall ships" etc... The possibilities are endless.
Reply
Sheryl-W Premium
Thank you, Dale... didn't think about books, which may sell easier than boats. Can you do both? Boats would probably be small sailboats, and canoes. Maybe some build your own plans too. Too broad?
Reply
Dale123 Premium
You could do all of those, and all together - honestly, the possibilities are endless. If a believe a post you publish will attract people looking to purchase a boat, promote a boat to them on that post - similarly if you think it'll attract people looking to buy a build your own plan, promote that to them. Just put yourself in the mind of your visitors and think "what would I be interested in purchasing if I was sat reading this post right now".

Ok... I see, so offer something different with each post, wow, why didn't I think of that? ( Cuz, I have never been even this far in my thinking before) Thanks!! :)

Hey Dale! I cannot seem to make up my mind on which niche to choose as my business. I have a few ideas I would like to share with you. Let me know which ones you think would work best.

1) Baby swimwear. (can it be both boys and girls or do i have to choose a gender?)
2)Cute stuffed animals for kids and some people buy them for their dogs too!
3) Party games. (Cards-Board games)
4)Cool mugs with different designs. (I was also thinking about disney mugs but i'm not so sure)
5)Laptop cases
6)Long boards
7)Cute medium sized blankets
8)Blankets with sleeves! (snuggle blankets)
9)Baby cribs
10)Baby monitor with breathing monitoring
11)Camera lens for your iPhone
12)Probiotics

This will be my first time to start a niche business online so it is a little overwhelming. Please help me out. I want to make a decision and choose my niche so that I can get to work as soon as possible!

Thank you so much,
Gina

Purely because I once searched for a camera lens for my iPhone, I say go with that one :)

As soon as one gains traction you can always begin work on another. Here at WA you can create a whole bunch of niche sites.

Hi Dale

I wonder if you can help advise me? I'm trying to decide which way to go with Wealthy Affiliate. How did you first approach it?
Did you firstly begin with The Online Entrepreneur Certification (OEC) training or Affiliate Bootcamp? Do you sell physical or digital products or trainings etc? Is it imperative to have a blog site whichever of the two options of training we take at Wealthy Affiliate? I am currently developing a membership site that will deliver video training each month over a year in the traffic generation niche. With this in mind it will be a membership service i'll want to promote in the overall scheme and possibly other stand-alone training products.
Can you suggest a way forward?

regards
Chris
Reply
Dale123 Premium
The OEC training is definitely the 1 to go through first - that will then set you up for the Affiliate Bootcamp.

I have a variety of niches - and I've dabbled with everything, though primarily I promote digital products. Just easier in my opinion :)

And yes, ideally you will want to have a site in place (you'll see why as you progress through the OEC training).

With regards to the way forward, I recommend going through the OEC - getting an understanding, building out your site (as you progress) and then afterwards you can look at adding membership plugins to pursue your membership site idea :)

Hope that helps.

Hi Dale,
I have a little problem. I just created my new domain and before I move my old site to my new site I saw that I still had the generic message under the title of my page. There is also a phone number to the right of the page that was there also. I cannot seem to figure out how to get rid of these. Can you help me?

Thanks,

Dale123 Premium
Apologies for the delayed response I just came across this message - to alter the generic message you simply want to go to "Settings" -> "General" from within your sites admin panel. Regarding the phone number, that is likely editable from "Appearance" -> "Widgets". Hope that helps :)

Hi Dale,

I went into my admin panel and I went to Appearance and then widgets. I am not sure what I have to use to get rid of the
phone number on the right side of my web page. I also noticed that I do not have a comment box on my site. I put in my post that if there were any questions that they could ask below. There is nothing for anyone to post anything. Can you help with this?

Thank you

I also noticed that my web page has been updated. How do I apply that to my current page? There is a button that says update now but I am not sure if I can do that or will it mess up anything.

Thank you

Dale123 Premium
Normally there will be a widget area called "Header" or something - if there is, there might be a text widget in that area which contains the phone number that's displaying on your theme. Alternatively it may be editable by going to "Appearance -> Theme Options" instead.

Sorry I cannot tell you the exact path as to where to edit it - the reason is because every theme is different and it depends how the author has set it up. If you can't find it just reach out to SiteSupport they'll be able to help you for sure :)

And yes, go to "Settings -> Discussion" then take a look to see if "Allow people to post comments on new articles" is ticked :)

Hmm, I'm not entirely sure what you mean - but the permalink is just the URL to the page, and usually it is automatically created for you so no need to change it. If you do change it though then it must not have any spaces in it, you should use the - symbol instead of spaces. If you let me know what part of the training it is you're on I'll take a look & do my best to help you get it sorted :)

Hi Dale - it's a lot of training modules! And all told -gets pricey but what I really NEED to know is what's the typical time line of earning any money from this stuff? I'm in a tough spot - really tough spot financially and am looking for salvation. What I've read says WA is a real deal. How soon does it become that practically?

Thanks - Charles
Reply
Dale123 Premium
Hi Charles, not sure who told you it gets pricey but that sure ain't true - it's possible you've got it mixed up with another program in that regard. Unfortunately this is not a "way out" for people in a tough spot financially - this a place to learn how to build an online business based around affiliate marketing. It sounds like you're looking for a way to "make money quickly" so I will be honest with you and tell you there is no such thing - anything that promises otherwise is likely set out to scam you. Yes you can make a good income here but it ain't gonna happen overnight.

Good Evening; Dale,

I learned of you when I came across your review of a company supposedly helping individuals recover unclaimed funds. You did good work in your investigation of them. I appreciate your referral to WA and on that basis joined WA's basic program through your link.

My work and experience all come from a previous time when I had direct, face-to face contact/meetings with customers, users and prospective customers. The contact and meetings came about as a result of my responsibilities in field service/support, sales, marketing and new product development. I am unfamiliar with today's so called "virtual" environment in which businesses operate.

Every business I have been involved with utilized business/ marketing plans and business set-up plans. I have not been able to find anything on the WA website for these. Do they exist and I have not found them?

I want to obtain personal "proof of concept" for WA and their training, before considering the premium program.

Sincerely,

Ralph Woodruff

Hi buddy - good to hear you've already made a start on the training. This site is definitely the place to learn how to build a real income online & I'm sure you'll see that for yourself as you progress through. Everything's daunting at first, don't worry - it was for me too! It will soon become second nature, but access to help sure doesn't go a miss so I'd certainly recommend getting yourself to Premium... That way you'll get access to the chat & all the additional material here which will clear up any issues a lot faster. Essentially the Starter membership is just a taster to let you see if you feel it's right for you, so yeah Premium is definitely the way to go :)

Hello Dale! I'm considering the upgrade to premium. Although I'm not totally convinced yet that this is for me.
Perhaps I just haven't seen the light yet.
Since it's only $19.00 I will dig a little deeper.

What impresses me the most is the support. I think it's great.

I have a question. Are there more squeeze pages available in the premium upgrade or is there an opportunity to create my own?
I have a way to mass advertise this should I go ahead with this but they recommend that squeeze pages have no more than 2 entries on it preferably just one ie email.

Thanks!

AZ
Reply
Dale123 Premium
Hi AZ, yeah - as you say it's only $19 to try it out so there's no harm in giving it a try, you get full access to everything & if you decide it's not for you... No big deal :)

The support here is awesome though I agree, the community is just great as a whole.

In answer to your question, you can actually create as many custom squeeze pages as you like. All you need to do is set them up directly on your blog & you can do this using various squeeze page plugins. All you need to do from your plugins screen is search for squeeze page or landing pages or something & see which one fits your requirements :)

Hmm that’s odd, not sure why it’s saying zero unless you’ve clicked on “Installed Themes” by mistake. From your dashboard you need to click “Appearance -> Themes -> Add New”. That should take you to a page where you can browse all the themes.

And yes looking elsewhere shouldn’t be a problem, when you get one you can simply follow the same process as above but instead of choosing a theme you just upload the .zip file of the one you’ve got from elsewhere.

Here is a good video training on it: Hope that helps :)

I just checked out your site - congrats it's looking great :) the information you've put together already taught me a few things about Bitcoin so I'm sure people will find it very useful.

In my opinion at the moment there are a LOT of cryptocurrency opportunities (many of which are just scams as you've outlined on your site). Maybe you could add reviews of these to your website & warn people about the dangers? Just an idea but I'm sure that would help you get a good start on your traffic :)

HI DALE, THIS PAST 2 DAYS I HAVE BEEN FEELING LOST. SO MAY BE U CAN HELP ME OUT HERE. I AM STILL NOT DONE WITH FINISHING MY LESSONS YET. I AM AT THE PART WHERE I NEED TO CREATE MY NICHE BUT I HAV BEEN QUESTIONING MYSELF, I MEAN FOR START OFF IS IT BETTER TO START WITH AFFILIATE BOOTCAMP? OR CREATING YOUR OWN?. WHAT WOULD BE BEST WAY TO PROCEED?. HOW DID U STARTED OFF?.

There is no “better” option it’s completely up to you, it’s a good idea to pick a niche around something you’re interested in :)

You can create multiple sites here at WA so there’s no right or wrong you can always add extra niches later if you want too :)

P.S. it’s better to type without capital letters because it comes across online as if you are shouting lol

Hi Dale

Great to find you on here at last. I read an article that you posted a few months ago. I clicked on the link to discover that you are in WA. I was already in WA. I wasn't entirely convinced that WA was the place to be to be successful. Your blog was one of the reasons why I stayed in WA because you are an example of a success story. Thank you for all that you do online.

Best wishes

Delroy

Hey Delroy - nice to see you made it here all the same. WA truly is awesome & I'm sure you'll find massive success here. The training is hands down the best & most comprehensive I've seen anywhere online :) It's good to be a part of WA.

Your profile was very interesting! It was great to read about how you decided to leave your job and the just did it. I think that if you wait for the "right time", it might never come. I did something similar too and chose not to get another job and commit myself to building a successful online business. Looks like you've really worked hard and focused well as you have managed to replace your previous income in such a short time. Great achievement!

Hi Dale, this is Tawbin. I wanted to ask if Wealth Affiliate academy is connected with Awol academy. I'm little confused because I thiught I would take lessons from WA but Awol offers the training program for $99. Are these 2 the same community or different? Would you please explain clearly. Thank you

They are different buddy - 100% separate.

Hi Dale, my name is Tawbin. I,m on my rock bottom right now. In fact, I don't know if I'll be able to pay my rent next month. I came across Keala's video and I'm hopeful after reading your bio. I signed up for the training tomorrow at 6 pm. I wanted to know if I'll be sent any specific link for the workshop or I just go to Webinar. Also I need to start making money asap. So I wanted to know how many workshops and classes I'd have to complete in order to start making money and how long does it take to learn everything. I'm always willing to work hard with dedication without any doubt. I'm not in a great place right now so please let me know. Thank you

Hi Tawbin, I'm afraid that what you are trying achieve is simply not possible - building an online business takes time & hard work.

The internet is a great tool that enables you reach a large audience very easily, but unfortunately it is not magical. It is just like building a business offline, you cannot expect it to start generating hundreds or thousands in a matter of days or weeks...

I am sorry for being blunt but I just want to be truthful.

My advice is for you to stop looking for ways to "get rich quick" because they simply don't exist & no doubt you will only end up deeper in trouble as you get drawn into vicious scams.

I wish you the best & hope you manage to sort your situation.

Hi Dale, thank you for replying. I was actually trying to find out how long does it usually take to build this online business. I'm not expecting thousands of dollars right away but I'm just curious. I'm willing to work hard to be successful. Is there any kind of payment that I need to make in order to build the business online after the classes?

Tawbin - it's literally just like an offline business. Even pulling $50 or $100 can take weeks/months - but of course in the long run it's all worth it as it eventually builds up.

You're here at Wealthy Affiliate why not dive into the training here? Click the "Get Started Here" button to the left.

If you're willing to work hard then you have everything you need here to make money & become successful.

Hi Dale, am really encouraged by your biography. I have learned a lot of things from you such as, the need for hard work, dedication, etc.
I started my training and so far, so good. I have a question: Can I pull through in these courses even when I have a challenge with video lessons. When I am learning from the video, sometimes the videos keep on breaking and stopping. How can I be helped?
Otherwise, this program is awesome and I thank you for leading me to this great site. I can't afford to jeopardize this opportunity.
Regards,
Lennox

Thanks Lennox I'm glad it's encouraged you, but on the video front I'm not quite sure what's happening... Maybe it's an issue with your internet connection? I can imagine it is frustrating but I am sure that with persistence you will be able to get through :) You could possibly try a different web browser too as maybe that will help.

Thank you so much. I will make every effort to see to it that all go well.

I hope things are going well. I know you are getting rolling within the training and there is ONE thing that always tends to confuse people and that is "what is my niche?".

I know, same thing happened to me when I started.

I just wanted to reach out and let you know that I am here if you ever want to run any niche "ideas" by me or you have any questions about finding your niche.

Get back to me when you get the chance! :)
