SiteContent Images is Here! Over 1,000,000 Optimized Images.

Last Update: January 17, 2018

Well, we have been hard at work behind the scenes and as we have lead on to many folks here within the community. Today we are introducing the SiteContent Images platform here at WA. This is something that we are proud to introduce into an already thriving and very advanced SiteContent platform. I think it is going to be very well received by those using the SiteContent to publish amazing content...and now that content can include beautiful, high resolution, optimized images!

One of the Biggest Challenges With Images is Finding Them

You never have to worry about searching and finding an image again...or paying for images. As a Premium member of WA, you are going to have access to a database of well over 1,000,000 images. From dogs and cats, to basketball, to locations all over the world, to healthy eating, to anything!

These are high resolution, beautiful, and completely free and Creative Commons ZERO (CC0). CC0 means you can use these images in any way you want on your websites, including commercially, without any attribution. So now you have access to a resource of a 1M+ images that you can leverage to beautify your website content published through the SiteContent platform.

==> Access SiteContent Here

To access images, you will want to click the "insert image" icon within your tool bar within the SiteContent editor (as shown below).

This will give you three options in terms of the type of image you can insert.

  • Insert an Image from Search. You can search from a database of over 1,000,000+ images. These images are completely free to use in any way you like on your website, they are very high quality, professional photos. These photos are from three industry leading image repositories in Pexels, Unsplash, and Pixabay.

  • Drag an Drop Image. You can upload images manually from your computer. This feature can be used by dragging and dropping images into this box from your computer or mobile device, and also manually searching for image files on your device and uploading them.

  • Recently Used Images. Use past images through the "Recently used images" section where you can easily reuse these images across multiple articles.

So let's check out a sample search. Many of you have websites relating to animals and some are in the cat niche. Let's say I wanted some good "cat" pictures for a post, I would simply search for "cat" or a relevant term that I was looking for (hint: there were lots of "black cats" when I did that search as well).

Formatting

See my "cat" results as depicted in the screen capture below.

Cat Search - SiteContent Images

These are just a few! As I scroll, more and more beautiful, high quality cat images continue to populate the search. There were literally 100's of brilliant images that I could have used to beautify my website and add a whole new level of professionalism with.

The Cropper Creates Beautiful Website Imagery

You can easily crop your images and insert them in any way you like into your content. We have not only introduced a square/rectangle crop, but a circle crop so it gives you flexibility in terms of your styling and design of your images.

There are many design reasons that you may want to use a circle crop, some you want to use square, and others where you will want to use a rectangle.

SiteContent Images - Circle Crop Feature

This can lead to some really slick designs within your website content (pages and posts) and it is going to allow you to add a whole new level of professionalism to your website. It is one thing to have beautiful images, but you also have a way to integrate them into your website so they not just look good, they fit the overall design and flow of your article.

Upload Your Own Images, Modify Them, Add Them

As with other platforms, you can upload your own images from your computer or devices directly into your content. The Upload features is super efficient in that you can drag and drop or copy and paste images into the upload area and it will automatically recognize it.

Search Options, SiteContent Images

Upon uploading your image, you will be able to crop it and align it in the same way you could with other images that you "searched" for. These images are then going to be added to your repository (Recently used images) and you will be able to use them again in the future across other articles that you create.

Formatting, Linking, Alt Tags, and Editing is a Breeze

Upon inserting an image, you are given some tools that allow you to add alignment formatting, links to your images, alt tags, as well as an efficient process for editing your images after the fact.

You can quickly format your images alignment. If you align either left or right, it will integrate your image right within your content.

Here is an example of this.

If you have aligned center or you have no alignment chosen, it will put your image on its own line. This is done for content continuity and the natural way you would anticipate an image being inserted into content (ie, to make your life much easier).

You can also add "alt" tags and internal links (to your website) or external links (links somewhere else) with efficiency.

Faster Websites as a Result of NEW Compression Technology

A slow website is usually caused from a few things, one of the core reasons being large image files. When you add an image from an image website, they are often times full resolution and haven't been properly compressed for speed. Wordpress doesn't do a good job of compressing images, even the "best" image compression plugins don't do an effective job.

Fully integrated into the SiteContent Images platform is image compression which leverages the ultimate in image compression technology. There is no longer going to be a need to worry about images adding "lag" to your websites because they are too large or poorly optimized.

When you publish your content, there is a new layer of sophisticated technology that AUTOMATICALLY crunches down the size of your images on your website, while retaining the image quality.

This is a huge breakthrough in terms of website speed and efficiency which is going to translate into a better user experience and rankings.

The Future of Content Creation is Here

We have also unveiled a new dashboard design. It is now as beautiful as the content you are going to be creating and your "article cards" will pull images directly from the content so you can visually interpret your content activity with more efficiency.

The SiteContent Images "reveal" is something that we are very excited about and is our next significant iteration and evolution of SiteContent.

Although this update has been a significant one and it has taken many months of coding, development, testing and integration to get it in place, we are FAR from being done with the SiteContent platform. In fact, we are already heads down on the next iteration of the SiteContent platform and we have some amazing new features that are in the pipeline. No leaks as to what, but as with everything we do, it is going to benefit you and your business.

I think that you are going to truly love the SiteContent Images platform and as with anything, please leave us your feedback, comments and suggestions. Leave them in the comments below. It is how we improve and get better as a platform and a community!

Cheers,

Carson

I like the site content feature. It works well. However, I still have to edit my blogs in Wordpress after using site content so I can upload a featured image, select a category, and add text for the SEO description.
This means the featured image has not been optimized within the site content editor.

Thank you Carson, this was VERY informative. I have a question that may be a bit unrelated but I still need to know...I'm on Course 4 (Social Media) & I am a newbie on Facebook. On lesson 3, Kyle tells us to use images on our FB posts. My question is, do we have to worry about using only "commercially free" images on our Facebook page like we do on our website? Thanx!
Reply
FKelso Premium
I would guess that the answer to your question is "yes." Facebook is still a public site and if you use images that are not "commercially free," you could get in deep doo-doo unless you plan to pay for the images. To play it safe, make sure your images are free.

Thank You FKelso! Definitely want to avoid the deep doo-doo, and it's so easy to step in it! ;-]

I'm trying to understand the hype and benefits around SiteContent since one can get the free-to-use photos directly from Pexels, Unsplash and Pixabay too.

I have many high resolution product photos (10MB each). If I were to load them directly to my woocommerce pages, I would expect my site to load slow. So I should upload my photos into SiteContent to be compressed before uploading to my pages? Is this what SiteContent is all about? - To compress photos.

Will my photos be accessible to the public if I were to upload them to SiteContent?

Then should I continue to use the EWWW Optimizer plug in?
Reply
TEETENG95 Premium
You can continue to use the EWWW Optimizer plug (because it's about your traffic), photos can also be put into your Site Content using your own (size photo can adjust by yourself but not too big, I recommend 500*500).

I just finished trying out the Site Content and the new images. Unfortunately, I wasn't thrilled with the site content writer.I had to keep redoing things because the bold attribute took over everything I had written instead of what I had highlighted. If I centered an image anything after the image would also be centered!

I also think I had to do too much inputting when I added an image.

Thing was, I had already written my article in Word and was ready to post it to my blog, but decided to try out the new system. I ended up not completing it in the Site Content because it was taking too long with me having to keep redoing things.

Also, there is no "undo" button that I could see.

It seems so much easier to just do the article directly to wordpress.

I will give it another try some other time to give it a second chance before I make a final decision about it.

I don't see where it is any easier or time-saving. Not sure where the improvement is. I usually do my draft in a word doc and then just cut and paste in to WP. I know I could draft it in WP, but for some reason i just feel more comfortable drafting in Word.

The Site Content seems very cumbersome!

I use Site content for some month now. In the beginning, you are right, it is quite confusing and time-consuming.
Now after some time, I learned how to profit from it.
I never do any bold, titles or bullet lists there, this I all do in WP later.
What is interesting when working with sitecontent, I think is the possibility of using a lot of good pics. Although even these I delete later in WP and re-add them for better site speed and titling and setting them in the right position and size.
What I also like is the way I can look at all my drafts, before opening them, It is easy to choose a keyword title draft and open it and write it out. I also do not touch the correction feature, grammarly I think is much better.
You are right, the go back button is something definitely missing, I lost quite some content because I couldn't go back.

Can something please be done about the quality of uploaded images?

My site is now beginning to fill up with poor-quality images uploaded to SiteContent.

Most of the time when I'm either taking screenshots for my reviews or using Snagit or Canva to highlight certain aspects using red arrows for example - the quality goes straight out the window as soon as I upload to SiteContent.

Images are losing color and also becoming blurred. It doesn't look good to my visitors, and I know others are having the same issues.

Thanks

Neil

After publishing my content with pics to wp, I always delete the pics again and re add them in the wp editor. I then write the text and choose a size and location. My pics look ok.

I try to avoid uploading pics straight to WP if I can. I'd rather them be compressed properly using SiteContent. But thanks for the tip :)
Reply
Zappades Premium
I do that too. First I load them to site content, from there I publish them to WP, then I delete them on the post and add them again from the media board.
Like that, they are compressed once by site content and again from wp editor.

Great advice!!! Thanks, Stephan, I will try that too. Just checked my last post and it was at 39 on site-speed because of images taken from screenshots.

Even if we upload an image from elsewhere into SiteContent, that image will be effectively compressed when we hit Publish?

And so as long as we use SiteContent for BOTH words and images on all our posts, then EWWW Image Optimizer plug-in is no longer needed, right?

But what about old posts on website that used EWWW Image Optimizer? Can we still remove the image optimizer plug-in and still retain compression of THOSE images?
Reply
SteveCrozza Premium
Once an image is compressed it stays that way. there is no need to keep a plug-in to keep it optimised.

Yes, you can remove the EWWW optimiser.

I actually optimise all of my images before I post them, on my computer before they are uploaded.

I do this with GIMP, but there are many other products available, which are free, to do this.
Reply
BooBish Premium
Okay, so the images are compressed and stay compressed once they've been compressed, and so the image optimizer plug-in can, in fact, be removed.

All right. :-)
Reply
Igor13 Premium
I think that depends on the size of the image. Images when compressed load faster Regards!

Anyone using Divi: if you publish from SiteContent onto your site, are you able to construct your page using the Divi Builder and adjust after the fact, or, how do you do it?
(Because I'm not sure, for now I'm copying and pasting what I've written on the SiteContent platform, into the relevant areas on the pages I'm building).
Reply

Just publish it from sitecontent it will publish in standard mode then you can edit it in WP and switch to the Divi builder afterwards if you want to

The goal setting features are also GREAT!!

Wow, I just saw this now. It really proves that I have been out of touch with what is going on here at Wealthy Affiliate and the development of my business has come to a halt as well. WA is constantly improving and this is certainly something that will make my posts and pages look better. This way I can create an entire post at Sitecontent without having to go in and add images later.
Thank you this is good stuff.

This is a really nice feature that will definitely speed up content creation. Starter (free) members should however be aware that you can go directly to the 3 websites (Pexels, Unsplash, and Pixabay) and download the free images directly from them.

Wouldn't it be fantastic if WA could do a deal with one of the big paid stock photo websites such as isock/getty, adobe or even bigstock? Now that would be awesome, but I doubt it will be possible unfortunately.

A nice feature to have all the same.

I am very happy this is now included. It was very disconnecting to write content here, have it published then go to our website to add the images. This is more streamlined and throws away the jerkiness it possessed prior.

One thing though that still bothers me is that it is automatic publishing. If we create a bunch of content and then want to do a drip feed publish, that is still not possible here.

It would be great if we could do scheduled publishing from within Site Content or that it didn't automatically publish it on wordpress but instead sent there as draft or some variation of not published so we could schedule it.

But very appreciative of the new development!

Tip: When using pics from your cell phone or devices as such. It's best to resize the images before adding them to your content. You can find free software for your cell phone , laptop or desktop computers by doing a simple search. " free photo resizer software"

Hi, franzink. Those are some really great ideas for adons within the platform. You know...from what I have seen so far within the platform, it would not surprise me if we saw these implementations in the very near future.

So, I'm not sure if you are aware of the WooCommerce plugin that you can add to any WordPress site. I personally think it's a great plugin for ecommerce websites. You probably hear a lot about Sopify as well. I think it's highly overrated.

I wish you the best.

They're definitely going to be many additions to the SiteRubix family and the SiteContent platform moving forward. You can be sure that we will not stop involving these platforms where it makes sense to do so and we already have subsequent iterations underway!

Site Niche Generator option. We have something similar coming, it is not part of the SiteContent platform though. This release will likely take place in early 2018. :)

SIte Infographics option. There is no sense in us rebuilding an info graphics platform, there are a lot of free ones and good ones out there already. https://www.canva.com/create/infographics/

There is just one of many. Do a Google search, you will come up with lots. ;)

Site Ecommerce. Again, there are plugins like WooCommerce out there, but there're certainly some stuff that we can do on the design, simplification side of things of ecommerce. We might be going to the creative drawing board for this one and coming up with something truly unique. :)

Site other thing? Yes, lots coming through 2018. :)

Awesome work, showing that you have our success in mind. You are not content to rest on past successes in the fine creation of WA!

One thing I would like to suggest is perhaps you can add a setting to rotate the image. I tried to manually upload a picture just now and the orientation of picture uploaded is not as same as it is supposed to be, but I cant do any rotation on it. Thank you!

I just had a little play with the new image tool on site content, and I LOVE IT. Thank you! If there was anything extra I'd add to this (and it would be only because I'm getting used to feeling spoiled with all the extras you offer) it would be:

1. even though it's zero attribution, I love to give credit where credit is due. If there are author details already attached to the image (and I can see their names in the search results), could we have the possibility of including it in a caption?

2. in a future iteration, perhaps the search could also include CC with attribution images, and we could choose what level of CCommons we select in our search, and let it include the attribution automatically?

3. this suggestion is like, icing on the cake, because I'm already rambling and I'm in a WHY NOT? mood - but - if the image editor could apply funky borders and overlay text/quotes. OMG.

Back to my first comment - fabuloso - I love it, thank you!

Great addition! But I noticed a problem when using my android. It's an issue with the "crop" tool. It does not let you crop the picture properly. When you go to spread the crop feature out, it will allow you to move one side and when you go to adjust the top or bottom, it just resizes small where you put your finger.

It is not really that important and it may just be my phone but just in case someone else has the issue, you are aware of it. I'm more than happy using it from my laptop, it works perfectly there. Thank you very much for the new platform!

I will be using my laptop if I intend to make full use site content images because you are right, it is much easier. I just got used to working from my phone because it's much more portable than my laptop.

The new site content images are mobile friendly but not when it comes to cropping the images. I checked the feature on another phone and I had the same issues so it's definitely not my phone. I can adapt, I was just bringing it to the bosses attention. It's not that big of a problem to be honest.

Yes, it is. One of the most confusing elements to building content is the image aspect. It can be hard to find them and there is so much grey area in that space when it comes to "using" images as well.

This solves all of the problems in a single swoop.

Carson, just a quick question (if this has been answered already, my apologies):

As has been pointed out elsewhere, in some cases, the person uploading a photo (to Pixabay, for example) for free use doesn't actually have the right to do so, which may result in issues later for those who opt to use it.

Is there any sort of indemnity in place should something like this occur?

One question: I dragged some photos from my computer that were in portrait but they downloaded sideways. Can a rotate feature be added or is it there and I missed it?

Thanks again for making life easier and my site better. This really works.

Kudos Carson... I just tried it out and it is awesome! There are great options for showing human emotion, basic elements of life, etc....

I do have one wish-list request for it though: it would be a big improvement if we could either preview an image in larger size, or back out of the image back to the search list; having the list disappear when we cancel an image is not the best process IMHO.

Thanks,
Steve

I think My biggest gripe with site content was the inability to add images, I like to add as I go not only break up the relentless writing but also for inspiration and to see how the post is growing.

While I really wanted Images included as without I saw it all a bit pointless, I didn't actually expect the images themselves to be PROVIDED!

Wow, and the catalogue is really good, amazed at what I have been able to find so far!

Excellent update, thanks

If I want to update the pictures in my recent pages/posts that are already published, and made in the WP editor. By update, I mean cropping in a circle and getting the images compressed, how do I do that?

Thanks for a super nice tool.

Excellent news and as always a thoroughly engaging, concise and clear post. You guys make your writing seem effortless and I wish I could write so eloquently, but I'm guessing you put in a whole bunch more effort than it appears into your finished article!

This is ust what I need right now as I am about to develop my site from the "text only" that I have at the moment. This is going to make things a whole lot easier.

My only criticism is that you've left us with a cliff-hanger as to what's next in the pipeline, but then, what would life be without cliff-hangers to keep us coming back for more!!

Great article Carson, thanks.

Carson, this is extraordinary good news!
Thank you so much for constantly improving the WA platform.

With the SiteContent Images we will save a lot of time and our websites will look more and more professional with high quality pictures.

I love the cropping feature and the image alignment feature. Another great thing is that it's possible to upload our own images directly into the content and also be able to crop and align them as well.

The compression technology is an excellent improvement, that means we can save more time, and our websites are not getting slowed down because of "heavy" images any more.
- Then I understand, we don't have to install a plugin for this issue any more, am I right?
- Does my own uploaded images also get automatically compressed?

Once again Thank You!!

Hello Pernilla, it is a great tool and should help us be more efficient on our websites. There is not a need to install a plugin since the compression technology is built-in. Your uploaded images will also get the same treatment.

Guys this is awesome, I have been busy lately going through my website and having to compress images that were creating lag.

Now its all done automatically through the SiteContent area even if we download an image to it.

So does that mean I can drop WP Smush from my plugin list?

If you wish. I deactivate mine then delete if I am not using it. I only keep plugins that I am using.

I agree. I delete plugins not working. Before I get to that point I test the plugin. If it's not working properly I delete. I do my research on the plugin and look how it's working for others as well before using.

Oh My Goodness, this is fantastic. I do have a question related to this. Where can I go to find a list of restriction when writing our articles on our sites that are focused on promoting WA? I can see this as being a part of an article speaking toward the advantages to membership or more specifically premium membership.
Reply
Kyle Premium
Sorry, by restriction what are you referring to. You can write about your experience here and share the benefits of WA if you are writing about it.

The SiteContent Images platform is part of the Premium membership.

Thank you Kyle that is what I was looking at. I was thinking of writing an article about how valuable SiteContent Images was and some of the other AWESOME benefits of premium membership.

Hi, Carson...

Holy Cow! I am speechless (THAT does not happen often hehe)...

Can we download these images or must we use the SiteContent tool exclusively and on SiteRubix hosted websites only?

I am thinking of those members like myself that have some active websites hosted here, while others are hosted elsewhere...

This brings up yet one more question. I have employees who are responsible for writing articles and etc.

Is there a way that they can access the SiteContent tool using my account or would they have to also be a member of WA to access this?

This is just a SUPER new feature.

You and Kyle AMAZE me!

Cheers!

You can build your content and then copy it into your website, you can download the images if you like, but you get the full benefits of the SiteContent Images platform if you are publishing directly to sites here at WA (as you get full compression as well).

If you have employees, I suppose they could access SiteContent by accessing your account if they are part of your writing team.

So glad you love this feature, I certainly do not thing you are alone. I have been using it for a few weeks now and I have never been more excited about building website content than now!

Thank you so much for adding image capabilities to the SiteContent Editor! I wanted to try it first before I gave you any feedback and I love it. You gave me an idea for a review and added it to my website already and was sure to add it to Google plus, Facebook and Twitter. I used a black cat Halloween photo and demonstrated using it 3 ways in my post and it gives my website a nice Halloween look for the season - it shows up really nice on social media too. I can see that this was a huge undertaking and it is working great.

Definitely an exciting new feature to have. My only concern would be, I like adding text boxes and arrows etc... to my image. It seems I would have to do that outside of WA still.

Am I able to download these images In WA and move them to canva or something similar to edit with added elements?

Adding some kind functionality to perform this task inside WA would be the icing on the cake.

Hey Brandon,

We have definitely considered marking up images, it’s something that could be of great use. Even exporting to Canva, then sending back to WA. We are working hard in the background and you can expect a lot more from SiteContent.

Great ideas!

I haven't even finished reading this yet, but I had to scroll down and comment!

Thank you!

I was about to sign up again with a certain image provider that I have used in the past. Like, literally tonight was the night I was planning to do it. I am so glad you published this now before I did, because I really don't have the money to waste.

This is awesome. You guys just keep getting better. You know, usually the term "fanboy" has a negative connotation, but I am happy to say I am really a Wealthy Affiliate Fanboy.

One quick question though: can we use these images anywhere? For example, can I use them to make a Facebook or Instagram post?
Reply

CC0 (Creative Commons Zero) means you can use the images freely without attribution even for commercial usage. So yes, you will be able to use them anywhere you like.

Thanks.

That is what I was assuming, and what seemed logical and likely, but when it comes to image use, I always want to ask in order to be certain.

Hi Carson, thanks soooo much for this awesome post! VERY excited up your latest improvements to the Site Content platform.
That huge bank of free images looks amaaaazing.
Thank You. Thank You. Thank You.

I played with Site Content's image uploader for the first time yesterday. Might need a training on this because I experienced two challenges:
1. I couldn't find out where to upload my feature image.
2. I uploaded the Pinterest pin I had created in Canva for this post but could not find where I could resize it. I always upload the image full-size (735px x 1125px) and then re-size it to 350px by 525px so it doesn't overpower the post.

One more question on the 1,000,000 free images - are we able to download them so we can create Pins, FB posts, Instagram posts, Tweets etc. in Canva? Or are you planning to offer these templates in Site Content as well?
Reply
Kyle Premium
There is a big button right front and center when you open up the Images section to upload your image. You can see it in the screenshots above.

In terms of resizing your images, you can do so (to scale) after you add it to your article. You will simple pull the corner of the image to any size you like once it is inserted.

You could add to your website and download from there and we are considering integration with Canva so you can take these images and create your "own" posts headers, banners, and marked up images that you could use anywhere you like.

Thank you! I have been waiting for this before I even use SiteContent.

Would we still need the EWWW Image Optimizer plugin? and..as Sylvia asked a question I have the same. What about our previous page and posts. Do we copy them to SiteContent so the images there will optimize to a better size? I use a lot of images, my website is visual.

Thank you guys this is so exciting :D
Reply

If you are publishing through Jaaxy, no, but there is no sense deleting this. It might still add some marginal compressions to some things, but it will likely be phased out as the compression we are using is superior to that within EWWW.
Reply
PatsyC Premium
Hi, I didn't even realize you could publish through Jaaxy. Once I'm more established with earning an income I'll become a member with Jaaxy. I have heard a lot of great things about it.

When EWWW gets phased out, how will I optimize my images from previous pages and posts? I'm illiterate when it comes to this.

Thanks Kyle.

Thank you, arson and Kyle Oh and the fabulous team this will be an awesome addition to all WA premium members.

This is an added bonus in that as it becomes compressed we most likely can take out the odd compression plugin as well thus reducing the number of plugins.

Can't wait to try it out.

Yeah, compressions is a big part of images. It is important that you are putting optimized images on your website for performance and we have added a compression layer "on publish" that adds incredible optimization to your images.

With this image compression and having SiteSpeed turned "ON", your website should absolutely rip along.
Reply

Most definitely Kyle. I just tested one image I had already compressed a while ago and redid this in site content to see if there was much difference.

And Yes it compressed it even more so I think over time I will redo the images I already have on my websites and have then reduced even futher.

Thank you all for the great support and benefits WA is giving us as we all go forward.

Amazing all the work you guys do for us here at WA. I had started using SiteContent when it first came out but quit. Now that we can use images & links, I'll be using it again. That's going to save me a lot of time & frustration having numerous images to choose from all in one place. Thank you so much for this new addition.

That's good news Carson, I am certain I will use it.
Just a question what do I do with already existing content? Can I upload previous posts/pages to the SiteContent platform to optimize the images I am already using?
I hope I have made myself clear. :))

Thanks, for this new grat feature.

Hi Sylvia, I was thinking the same thing. Our previous content and the images there. If they will be automatically optimized like the new ones we post or do we have to I guess copy and paste them to SiteContent?

I haven't even tried it yet! I was waiting for the images.

One question I have Carson is regarding the image dimensions

I haven't been able to play properly with it yet because I'm on my phone and won't be in front of my computer until tomorrow but I didn't see the option to set the dimensions of the image is that possible?

I must admit Carson that I have not taken advantage of SiteContent to date, but will definitely give it a whirl. Thanks for adding such an important feature. Not certain if I will find the images I use, but I am sure there are other niches that can and should make use of this tool, Thank you and the team.

Hey Harvey,

We're using three of the worlds largest and most reputable image repositories, each with millions of images that are made available within SiteContent. There is a huge lot to choose from so hopefully you'll be able to find some relevant images :)

Hi Carson.
Practical question.

If I understand correctly, files (posts) prepared through SiteContent and with images added through that platform, will have optimized images.

Assuming that images in already published posts are all optimized (through the plugins we normally use), does this mean that we can now disable such plugins if we continue adding posts (and images) exclusively through SiteContent? Thank you.
Reply
Carson Premium
Hi Jovo,

Great question and I'm glad you asked about this and I'm going to give you a thorough answer :)

Content published through SiteContent optimizes the image that you have used within your content. When an article is published to WordPress, we send along the image and it's uploaded to WordPress in the background. Now, when Images are uploaded to a site the process is then in the hands of WordPress. it will create a number of different versions of the image. Large, medium, small, thumbnails etc. So, you still want to have an image optimization plugin installed so that any work that WordPress does in the background also optimizes new versions of the image.

We do our work by optimizing the actual published used in the content but what WordPress. IF you were to update your article in the future within WordPress and add different images through the platform, or choose a different size image (large, medium, small, thumbnail etc), you would want those optimized as well...and to do that you will want an image optimization plugin.

If you publish from SiteContent to a website and never change that content then you would not need an image optimization plugin, but chances are content will at some point be created or exited in WordPress and images may be part of those edits. You want anything uploaded through WordPress to be optimized.

Hope this answers your question :)

Hey Barb,

Thanks for the support for SiteContent Images, and the WA platform in general! So many folks have trouble finding images to beautify and make content interesting because it's truly the Wild West out there knowing whether images are OK to use or not.

All images within the SiteContent platform are under the CC0 license which means they are safe to use on your website for personal or commercial use without attribution. The is a big deal, and it's really easy to use!

Enjoy :)

Carson
