I am getting inundated with spam. Is there a good plugin to cut down on all of this spam? Any suggestions?
Hey Carolyn,
If real people come to your contact form, those messages will get through no matter whether you have protection on your form or not... just so you know.
Only bots can be prevented from abusing contact forms when using plugins such as: Honeypot, Really Simple CAPTCHA or reCAPTCHA.
Hope you find this helpful.

What is a good plugin to use to have people contact you?
I am getting inundated with spam. Is there a good plugin to cut down on all of this spam? Any suggestions?
Hi Carolyn,
Spam can be frustrating, but luckily, there are some great plugins available to help cut it down. Here are a few popular ones you can try:
Akismet Anti-Spam:
This is one of the most widely used plugins for blocking spam on WordPress. It automatically filters out spam comments and has a high accuracy rate. It's easy to set up and comes pre-installed with WordPress, though you’ll need to activate it.
Wordfence Security:
Wordfence is a powerful security plugin that also includes a firewall to block malicious traffic and spam. It’s an all-in-one security solution for WordPress.
Anti-Spam Bee:
This is another lightweight option that helps prevent spam without requiring Captchas. It’s free and does not require you to share data with third-party services, which is great for privacy-conscious users.
WPBruiser:
WPBruiser prevents spam bots from submitting forms on your site without using Captchas. It works silently in the background and is effective at reducing spam comments and contact form submissions.
Disable Comments:
If you're getting spam primarily through comments and don’t need them on your site, you can use this plugin to disable comments altogether.
In addition to plugins, make sure you have comment moderation enabled in your WordPress settings. That way, nothing gets published without your approval.
I hope one of these options helps reduce the spam on your site!
Best,
Arisara

Occasionally my "paragraphs" become "Headings" when creating a post. I don't see where I can turn the "Headings" back to "paragraph typing" in site content.
Suggestions any
In Site Content you just click the heading button a second time to turn it off. So if you have a heading that's an H2, and you can click the H2 button again to turn it back to paragraph. 👍🏼
Here he comes to save the day!!! Lol, the man of the hour. The wordpress Guru himself.
Hope you are doing well Eric.
You can search Eric Cantu in the magnify glass, and the Classes teb,
His blog has Wordpress Wisdom https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/ericcantu/blog/
Here is what I did: I highlighted the heading on screenshot 1, then at the top I clicked H2 then clicked it, then it changed back to paragraph as shown in screenshot 3
I hope that helps you
Thanks Brenda,
I'm not near my laptop and was hoping someone would post the training video or take some screenshots of how to do it for this member.
Exactly lol. I know it's in there somewhere but certainly someone on a laptop who could show step by step screenshots would help just as much.
Enjoy the rest of your day.
I know Eric Cantu has videos on this, does anyone know which particular one it is to save time combing through them all? Word press basics possibly?

I used to be able to copy and paste my post from Word into Site Content then publish it into WP and keep a table format.
Now I can no longer copy and paste a table from
In the block editor, you can insert a table. Click the plus icon at the top and search for a table block.
Customize accordingly.
I can create the table in WP instead of being able to copy and paste it from my Word document as I have done in the past. It is doable, just much more time intensive.
I have managed it by using a block yo make the table and copying and pasting the info. Or i ask chatgpt4 to make me a table i can copy into WP
I originally for a long time have simply done my Word document and copy and pasted it into Site Content with no problem formatting a table.
Recently the table is just coming out in Site Content as a long..... list. Then it is published in WP as a long list as well.
I can ... create ... a table in WP and by-pass Site Content. But that is so much more labor intensive than the way I used to do it.
Just wondered if anyone else was finding similar issues publishing tables.
If hou are using the wordpress block editor, try table block, adapt rows and coloms and try paste again... 👍🎉
I wish I could help you here. I know some that do it this way but I have always done a draft in Site Content and published that way.
If you are uncertain I would reach out to Site Support. I wish you the best of luck!

Is anyone else having trouble with getting lines through their links?
It is not in the back office, just in the post itself.
It is in some, (not all) affiliate links as
It must have been the broken link checker. The plugin hasn't been much of a help to me in the long run, anyway. So I just disabled it. In time I will probably go ahead and delete it.
You can use

The premium of which fixes your broken links

Hey Carolyn,
Sounds like you have a Broken Link Checker plugin installed on you WordPress website.
If so, go to Tools > Broken Links and follow the prompt.
TEST those links and if they are NOT broken, click on Not Broken. All will be restored.
If you do NOT have a broken link checker plugin installed, please reach out to SiteSupport: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/triblu/messages/sitesupport and be sure to explain in detail, the issue your are experiencing.
Hope you find this helpful.
Fantastic answer, spot on! I disabled the broken link checker plugin and checked through one entire category of posts. Everything looks good! Thanks again!
;) !
Why would you disable such a helpful plugin, Carolyn?
All you have to do is go to where the Broken Link Checker plugin shows you the posts, check whether the links are functioning... or not... and use the links under EACH of those posts to either Edit URL, Unlink, Not broken, Dismiss, or Recheck. See screen prints below...
If you choose NOT to use their plugin then you really should delete it.
Personally, I would NEVER want to be without this plugin, as this it has saved me HOURS of manually checking using another online source for checking links.
