Hello WA! I got a new cell phone the other day. Does anyone know if I need to install an app or anything else to connect to web site? I did get the phone figured out to recei

You will need to get online....how you do that is up to you.

Check the installed apps that come with your phone. , there might be apps for Firefox, or Google, etc.

Otherwise, if android phone, go to Google store and choose the app you want to use for online services.

Once online, you can access any website, including your WA account.

Rudy

Thanks for your reply. I got a Samsung Galaxy A14 5G Straight Talk phone. It's better than the phone I use to have. I will have to see if I can get an app that would work well and get connected to WA. I also started a YouTube channel also and want to get that going good also.

When you open your phone to use, scroll the screen in an upwards motion to show the installed apps. Swipe right to see more apps, (if available, I'm not familiar with that particular phone).

Look through them to find an app to get online.

Now that you've set up your Gmail, you can search through Google. Then you don't need to get a different app unless you want to...

Rudy

We don't have an app, but our website/platform here is mobile ready so you will be able to use it from your mobile devices, and build out your business from any mobile device.

If you click any link from any email, it will log you into your account (from a mobile device) and from there you will be able to interact, work on your business, etc.

I hope this clarifies for you here Jeffrey! :)

Thanks for your reply. Was just curious and information from people on the site is usually very helpful.

As the other have noted.

WA does not have an app. You'll go along just as you would on your laptop (fully responsive).

Abie

Thanks for your reply. I thought it was something simple. Finding out new things always helps usually. The previous phone I had started acting up and I thought it was time for a new phone

I use the Google Chrome app on my Samsung Smartphone to access the WA platform. It works well!

Just log in like you would on your laptop browser.

No need to install anything. You’re good to go. 👍🏼

Thanks for your reply
I thought it would be simple to interact with the new phone with my web site.
The previous phone I had did start acting up and I was thinking of getting a new phone.

Yeah, you can absolutely interact with your website and WA on your new phone. There's just no need to install anything to do it. You can access WA online just by going to the website on your phone :) 👍🏼

Hello! I have removed a bunch of plug ins so my site can run faster. What would be the best plug in to use to receive mail from people? I have the basic e-mail that comes along

Webmail here at WA :) Have you been in touch with site support regarding your issues?

An external drive or a USB stick is helpful for local files. I also back up my work using these drives.

Abie

Hi Jeffrey

The best way to collect emails is by giving away something free, like an ebook, as a lead magnet.

Everything published on your websites is stored on a WA server.

Frank 🎸

Set up your email address to be mailto:yourname@yourURL.com and then forward that email address to your main email account.

I have mailto:howard@yourfulltimervliving.com and I forward that to my Gmail account. I have three other email addresses that I operate in the same manner.

That allows you to get all emails in one location.

Maybe that will work for you?

I do the same thing, Howard...forward to my personal email. Helps to filter the spam, too!

Very impressive Jeffrey! 220 articles in a year is hard work!

Congratulations on your 1st WAnniversary!

All the best,

Well done, Jeffrey! Happy 1 Year WAnniversary, my friend!

Jeff

Yes, has been interesting so far.

I didn't do a thing for the first one and a half years, my friend, so you are way ahead in the game!

Jeff

Hey Jeff,

You do not need the same plugin installed twice. So you can easily decide to remove the 2nd installation.

I'm surprised that you could even activate it. I would have thought you would have caused major issues with your website once activated... if you could even activate it.

As for speeding up your website, you may find the following tutorial most helpful: If not, then be sure to check out other great tutorials shared here on the WA platform.

Hope you find this helpful.

I only installed 1 plug in and was wanting to know if the 2nd which is different goes along with the first if needed.

I went back to look at other plug in don't think it's needed.

I've never seen a second Rank Math plugin, Jeff. So I'm glad you were able to determine that you do not need the 2nd one.

Excellent job, Jeffrey!

Regards, Matt

Thankyou has been an adventure so far.

Hey hey! 220 articles it’s a perfect result of your hard work! I’m impressed, as I joined in January and have published just 33 articles so far!

Very good job! I wish you all the best!

Thanks for the comment and that's a lot of articles lol. It takes time and effort. I try to write 3 per week and submit an article every other day. I went through a phase of writing many articles and had like 10 per week a few times to try and get as many articles written and was sort of a goal. I set out to do and did get the amount that I wanted published but whew a little headache lol.

Great work Jeff, you are flying.

Keep up the wonderful work 😊🚴‍♂️

thanks for the response.

You're doing great, Jeff 👍

One thing - I thought to visit your website and went to your profile to look for the link.

But it's not there.

Did you know you can add your website and social media links to your profile?

I highly recommend doing that.

So that when WA family here would like to visit your website or follow you on social media, all they need to do is visit your profile.

Tim

Hello! good to hear from you. My site is mycampingvacationsites.com Im trying to figure out how to send a link in this box I'm chatting from. So, I just typed my site.

Ok there it is got highlighted.

It's an ok looking site, I think. But just photos and have not placed adds yet. Was having thought to do that.

Hi Jeff.

Don't put the link to your website on your blog posts or comments.

There are ass-tight people here who would report it and it could get you into trouble.

As I mentioned, add to your profile.

That is WA-approved.

See attached pic.

Tim

It's a good start, Jeff.

Don't add ads yet.

Build your website - add content.

Build authority - add content.

Then add ads later.

Take a look at other websites to get ideas on how to design the homepage, menu options, blog posts, etc.

If unsure, then follow closely a design that you like.

Over time, as you get more experienced, you will have ideas on how your site should look.

Tim

Ok thanks, I thought that starting out with just photos would be a good idea to start the visual of my website. I have been writing at least 3 articles a week and will continue to do so.

It is a good idea. Especially now that most people prefer visuals than reading.

But you have to make them presentable. Right now, it looks like you randomly threw the photos on your homepage.

Are you using a theme?

I didn't see the articles on your website.

Maybe highlight them on your homepage? A short blurb that links to the articles?

Also, have a category for each of your article - these can then be your main menu options.

For example, on my website I have written articles about digital marketing. I categorized them into a category named 'digital marketing'. And I have a main menu option titled 'digital marketing'.

This is not just for your readers. it is also for SEO. Search engines need to understand what your site is all about. And what topics your site has. The categories inform them of the main topic. Then the articles, each, are a deeper dive down into that topic.

Tim

I had the articles on top of my site and removed them to under appearance in the menus section. There in a box on the left that can be scrolled under menus settings and on the left in a box under Pages. I checked a couple boxes, and the articles were removed and placed there. I could uncheck and probably that would place them back. Has a select all and to the right says add to menu and I don't know what that would do.

I have a few themes that are in the back office.

You must learn to see your website as your visitors, Jeff.

What makes sense to you may not make sense to them.

I visited your website and I do not see the articles. I see links that lead back to the home page.

I do see Archives at the bottom of your home page and I see the links lead to your articles.

But Jeff,

1. People will not scroll down to the footer to look for articles (do you?)

2. You need to categorize your articles. Then make these categories into main menu options.

First, you have to decide - is your site about Camping Vacation Sites? Or Camping Accessories?

If it is about Camping Vacation Sites, then you will be writing about these places right? So, a logical way of categorizing your blog posts would be by zones, areas or cities? You can even do reviews of these sites.

If it is about Camping Accessories, then you may be doing reviews of these items. And I am sure they can be categorized. Go to Amazon to get ideas if you are not sure how to categorize Camping Accessories. See how they do it.

I hope all this helps?

Tim

I mean theme for your WordPress site.

I'd like to remove my-camping- accessories thought about that before. How to remove that on the photo. Already have been writing about the locations. Where to put and how to place them according to state or something else. The site is called what I told you, I did a change from siterubix and put the site as what I told ya.

I do not know the theme you are using to edit your site. As such, I do not know how you added that text to the photo. And not knowing that, I cannot advise how to remove it.

You can try asking a question about it and have the community answer for you.

I also suggest you go through the online training here, Jeff. Everything is taught there. The training clearly taught how to create menus.

As for categories - Tim

Also, I am not Site Support. Just a fellow WA member trying to help.

As such, do not expect me to remember what your site is called.

I do not have access to your account and I do not know what you did at SiteRubix.

I viewed that a while ago and will look at it again. The name on the photo placed on it doesn't bother me, I was thinking about what to do with the articles and thought if they would be put on a side bar or something. Definite know I have to fix that somehow. Was thinking about that before. I will review that again.

Hey Jeffrey,

One very important tip that I can offer you is to make sure your images are compressed so they load in all devices faster. Hope you find this helpful.

Hello! I did get the smush plug in a couple months ago. Seems to be working with my articles.

Have you tested your website for loading speed?

Here's Google's tool to check your website's loading speed for both Desktop/Laptop and Mobile
https://pagespeed.web.dev/

Yes, I have done that on WA and checked my site a bit. My cell phone is crummy, and I concentrate on my desktop search results.

No, no... use pagespeed to test your website loading time in both desktop and mobile. It's a Google app that you really should be aware of... and, using.

Ok I tried and did the scan, and it looks good, better than I thought the results would be. I will remember and use that.

If you found our chatting helpful, I hope you'll find this post helpful too:

I'm also at my 11 month, I have learned a lot, especially to be successful you can't treat this as a hobby.

Hello! Im knowing what you're saying, but if it is like a hobby sort as in liking your niche. I seem to like my niche more now and it does take time. I have been writing like 4 articles a week and trying to build my foundation more. I'm using the AI that does give me lots of info on things also.

And you can always pick up a black Friday sale later in the year.
