I recently listed a domain on Flippa last year, Alex! Good to see you again! Jeff😎

Hey Jeff! Good to hear from you! Have you sold any on Flippa?

No, the one I tried di not sell, and I let it expire! It was a test case, and I think I did about 7-8 blog posts on it , Alex!

Jeff

I know I came on here and checked a few of them out but I didn’t know if it had sold or not. Hmmm ok so not as easy to offload as I thought it might be.

It is much like an eBay auction, there is a time period, and if it sells you will know, Alex!

Jeff

Hi, you can try Flippa, Sedo, GoDaddy and Uniregistry marketplaces. Always use the services of an escrow to avoid being scammed. Escrow services typically charge a fee tor their services.

How does it work simple.

Read the small print, their terms and conditions. You may want to add a reserve so that you are not obliged to sell till it reaches the price you wanted. The highest bidder / buyer would forward the cash to the escrow business, you pass on your domain to the new buyer and collect your money off the escrow business.

Best wishes.

Thanks Abbie that’s great. Would I just ask site support to help in here? As my domains and website is on here? I’m keeping my main one here too.

Hi, site support function is maintaining our sites. First you need research the marketplaces and study how much is your domain name worth and at how much price are you willing to let go.

Once that finalized, and have listed it and you have a bidder. You can use the services of escrow and hand over your domain then you may ask support as to the authorization EPP code if it cannot be fetched via site domains.

Fantastic - thank you so much for your help 😁

I got this list of 8 sites from others you can try these.

GoDaddy
Sedo
Free Valuator
Domain Index
Epik
Website Outlook
Siteprice.org
Stat Chest

I wish you good luck let me know how you do.

Joe

Thank you, do you have any experience with any of these? Or know which one is better or more successful?

I have tried Sedo a few times without success, I list my domains and get to I believe it is the second stage and once I hit enter and wait to move to the third stage it just hangs up. I have not tried the other sites yet except for flippa.com where I just signed up and did not go any further. The domains I am selling are not developed websites, they have been indexed by Google but that is it. Selling these sites is not as easy as people think, the sites you sell on are very busy it seems, and have you hang on forever without success. Well, that is been my experience so far, I will try again and see how things blossom later.

Joe

Ok Joe well good luck. Sounds like we’re both doing the same thing! 😁

Yup.

Hey I am Lula.
And I am aware of Flippa.com
Wishing you a terrific day.

Hi Lula, what a lovely name 😁 thank you for your help.

So far flippa.com would be the best place to sell it. If you are scared to do so, don't be. Remember, flippa will get a cut of your sale if you set it up the right way and pay you your difference.

Flippa.com has been more serious about scammers now than ever. If you have a transaction for over $5,000, you will have to go through a bank grade KYC which is "know your customer".
They also integrated with other payment service companies to ensure a smooth transaction. There are more security measures for you to do your bidding with them. You might want to go through all the options to benefit your intended sale of your website. All the best!

Thank you for your response. I thought it would be safer using Flippa but each of the scammers got through and emailed me directly. So I thought I’d be better trying somewhere else. I suppose you get scammers everywhere.

Hi I’ve just been approved as an affiliate on Sovrn and they’ve sent me an email with a code to add to my ads.txt file and if I don’t have one I should create

I had to add from google, It was added by site support easily.
Best way to go.

If you prefer the 'long way round' there is the 'Ad Inserter' plugin. It made the whole process very easy for me and the documentation that comes with it is very easy to follow.
That said, until I read Daniels reply, I had noidea what it actually was, just knew I need to add it.
Good luck.

Site Support did it for me in minutes - so all done. But thanks for the info Twack. I know, I knew I needed it but didn't have a clue what it was LOL!! Oops, feeling like a newbie again!

It's a very frequent feeling for me. Glad you managed to sort it, I should have done that the first time round.

Hi - ask Site Support to add it for you. Just send them a message with the code, it will only take them a few minutes.

Great! Thanks Diane 😁

Job done - they very kindly created it for me. Thanks again.

Authorized Digital Sellers, or ads.txt is an IAB Tech Lab initiative that helps ensure that your digital ad inventory is only sold through sellers (such as AdSense) who you've identified as authorized. Creating your own ads.txt file gives you more control over who's allowed to sell ads on your site and helps prevent counterfeit inventory from being presented to advertisers.

Google strongly recommend that you use an ads.txt file. It can help buyers identify counterfeit inventory and help you receive more advertiser spend that might have otherwise gone toward that counterfeit inventory.

As per Google support,

Hope this helps,
Daniel

Thanks Daniel, yes I googled it too but still didn’t understand what I actually had to do lol!

Hi Alexandra,

This was the recommendation from our WA Support: "Kindly install the "WP Clone" OR "All In One WP Migration" plugin to generate and download a site's backup."
I've used "All In One WP Migration", but never had to restore the site from the backup it generated.

Yes I was using WP Clone but it doesn’t do a complete backup of images.

Updraftplus. Its brilliant.

Alexandra, I have a brilliant back up plug in (sorry cant remember the name now - this is from my mobile) but I will answer tomorrow.

Updraftplus. Its brilliant!

Thanks for responding. Updraft Plus does seem to be a popular choice.

Great question just reading comments learning

Thanks, glad it’s helped you 😁

I use ManageWP for all of my back ups. I have been using them for years. If I remember right a monthly back up is free. A daily back-up plan costs me about $1.00 per website a month. There are free backup plugins available.

Thanks for your response. I have a few to consider now. Really appreciated.

There is a way to generate PDF files including hyperlinks with Word 2016 for Mac:

1. Insert hyperlinks in your document

2. Go to "Save as", choose PDF and check the box "Best for electronic distribution and accessibility" instead of "Best for printing"

3. Save. That’s it.

It may take longer as it uses Microsoft online services but the PDF file will include hyperlinks.

Thanks Stanley!

I'm not even using a MAC right now, but I still found your solution useful because I was a MAC user for many years and I love them, so I just might start using MACs again. So...

Thanks for the kind words, Charles. I am using a Windows notebook now, my daughter highjacked my MacBook.

Hi Stanley, it sounds simple but it's not working. As soon as I save like that (which I have tried 3 times before your answer) it opens Adobe Illustrator, says the fonts aren't available and offers to change it to Calibri, which I agree to - then it says it's saving it to the Adobe Cloud and just the front cover is left. There has to be a simpler way of doing this..... I love my Mac but this is ridiculous..

Lol Stanley I know just how you feel! But we've gotta sacrifice for our children, which is why I've given my son & daughters brand new notebook computers with Windows 10 while both my desktop & notebook are still running Windows 7 believe it or not! Anyway...

Optimistically, our kids will appreciate our sacrifices and go on to do great things in the world of their generation.

Take care; be well & make lots of money!

Great thanks Charles, and yes I’ve messaged Jay before and he got back to quickly. I agree with you, he is awesome!

Thanks Stanley for all your help. I’ll check it out this evening, now that all is calm and my son is in bed lol!!

Hi Charles, I sent Jay a message and he got straight back to me. He doesn't use Word, he uses Google docs and saves to pdf no problem. He advised to copy my document over to Google docs and use that in future.

Sorted.

Thanks for your help too.

No problem @ all Alexandra - glad I could help lead you in the right direction, which has also helped me whenever I decide to go back to MAC!

Hi Alexandra, sorry to hear about the problems you are having with Pinterest.
If you are getting the same results after setting up two different accounts, different name, different password seems like this could be a browser issue. Have you tried with different browsers.
Looking at the responses below.
You have not indicated that you cleared your present browser's cache, just checked it.
The two accounts that you set up did you use the same name "WrinkleFreak".
I know all you need is more questions. Just trying to search for possible causes.
Which browser are you using, and do you have optional browsers available that you can try.

Hope by the time you get this, all is resolved. If not we can look for some more issues that could be causing the problem.

Best wishes,
Michael

Hi Michael, so I just looked at the browser history as Phil suggested and found the history from when I re-did the account and boards etc. two days ago. I clicked on it and it took me to my account which shows a business account and linked to it a personal account in the same name. Both are completely empty accounts. I even changed the username so that it wasn't some random number and the usernames are changed back and I made a point of saving the changes.

Read on Google that sometimes Pinterest delete complete content on accounts if they think it's offensive but it was just all about anti-aging treatments so nothing pornographic or offensive there LOL!

I want to do it all again to get it up and running but I have a niggling in my head saying not to waste my time again.

I've sent an email to them telling them to unsuspend my account, as on Google it says it can be that. They've emailed back to say it hasn't been suspended - I'm at a loss. I had some decent traffic go through it the first time for a few weeks then it all stopped immediately.

I'm at a loss....?

Hi Alexandra, I can feel your frustration through your words. Hope there was no money exchanged. I do believe it is a 30 day free business account.

OMG, I really can't see you putting anything offensive.

You have not mentioned anything about clearing your browser of cookies and cache. Also I do not know if you are limited to the one browser. I am going to assume you are using Chrome.

I really think you need to clear out the cache, and also try with a different browser. Opera, Firefox, Edge...

I know you will figure it out Alexandra, and I will be looking for updates on your success.

Pinterest has generated a fair bit of traffic for me, and I think it would be a good tool for you to have.

Sometimes when things don't work out for me, which is often, I find shifting my focus to something else, and then coming back to the problem with a clear mind helps. Most of the time anyway.

All the best,
Michael

Hi Michael,

I am using Safari but `I've now switched to Google Chrome. I have spent the whole evening setting out my boards and links again hoping for third time lucky - I was only going to do two test pins but I got carried away (easily done once you start). So fingers crossed this will be the time. I also sent another email to their support to see if they can explain it - I won't hold my breath on that one, they appear to be as useful as a chocolate teapot!

No money has changed hands yet LOL!!

Yes I agree with you, my niche is perfect for Pinterest which is why I'm so determined to sort it out and as you say Michael, I will sort it out (with or without my Mac being launched out of the window LOL).

Thank you so much for your kind words and advice and fingers crossed it doesn't happen again.

Enjoy the rest of your week!

Hi Alexandra, would appreciate updates on how you are making out.
I have never used Safari, so no comments there.

All the best,
Michael

Hi - I had a similar issue but mine was simple, it was something "techie" to do with my browser choice, I switched browser to google and got the Pinterest page completed and after that it was fine on all browsers and on mobile.

in terms of links - my Pinterest page just has links to my website and also to my eBay shop which are all about lighting and antiques.

The browser choice was definitely the cause of my early issues.

Mike

Thanks Mike I’ll try that.

Don't ask me. I hate that and Twitter and don't use either one.

Barbara

Ok so first things first.. don't launch your MacBook out the window, way too expensive! Lol

Pinterest support is absolutely horrible! I've had to deal with them before too and ended up getting the help I needed here days before I even got an answer from Pinterest support.

That's said, I really don't understand what's happening to your account. I've never seen or heard that before but I do have a question.

Does the name you're choosing have anything with affiliate, marketing or anything along those lines?

I have seen WA members say that their accounts were suspended and locked due to having those words because of the numerous scams there are surrounding those words.

I hope you get it sorted soon. I know how much of a bummer stuff like that can be.

Melissa

Hi Melissa, thanks for your comment. No, my account is called WrinkleFreak - I didn't have any affiliate links to my pins - some of my pins had a link to particular posts on my site but nothing directly with affiliate links.

I don't understand it. Pinterest is perfect for my niche but I'm having nothing but trouble and huge amounts of wasted time on it.

You're right about the Mac Book LOL! But it would be so satisfying for a split second.

Thanks again for your comments.
Alex

I know, it would be satisfying till it hits the ground lol

I really hope you get it working for you because Pinterest is actually an awesome source for website traffic. I didn't like or know anything about Pinterest before making an account for my website.

It has been my top way to get traffic to my site. I'm lucky if I get 1 person to my site per day. Through Pinterest I ended up getting 64 in one day!

I saw that Phil has a great suggestion for you to try, I hope that works!

He's always full of great ideas and suggestions! ☺️

did you clear the cache of your browser between signups as it might recognise you from earlier
have you tried another browser - i assume you are using safari
i hope you get it sorted ...if not tell me which window as i could do with a mac,....lol
phil

Ha ha Phil!! I think I just need you on speed dial - you always help me out with suggestions. I'll check my browser, never thought of that. But `I should still be able to log in....
