Hi Julia.
Conversely, i wrote an entire blog post yesterday completely off the top of my head and 100% original content and it stopped me publishing it due to it being allegedly copied content.
I saved it, and tried again after making no changes whatever and it published fine.

Cheers
Dave

Ahh the vagaries of technology

Yes, it was a funny one...

That's weird, Dave!

Hi Dave,

Oh, that's good to know. Then, the checker is still running, but malfunctioning...

I wanted to contact Support as Suzzane suggested, but since my question is not about my website, I wasn't sure how to submit it. So, I posted my original question on Kyle's profile. He didn't respond yet. We should probably add your observation to my question. Do you mind if I edit it to include your experience?

Thank you,

~ Julia

Hi Julia.
Feel free to add it

Thanks

I use Grammarly pro and Copyscape and both work, I am not convinced that site content ever did like Diane I have seen copies and pasted content get through

Thank you, Catherine. I'll check Copyscape for my own use.

The reason I'm worried about the SiteContent checker is that I'm writing a post where I promote SiteContent, and I was listing the grammar checker and the duplicate content checkers as SiteContent great features. But, I certainly don't want to move forward with it if duplicate content checker doesn't work properly.

I think this is a helpful discussion. I wonder whether Kyle and Carson are aware that the checker is not reliable. Since they've put effort and money to include these features and offer them for our convenience, I think they would want us to use them and may want to fix them.

I posted my question on Kyle's profile.

Hi - I have never had any confidence in it working properly. I use my own plagiarism checker and have often given feedback on member's sites and discovered huge amounts of material have been copied and pasted but they published through Site Content.

Thank you, Diane. My problem is that I'm writing a post where I'm promoting SiteContent and the duplicate content checker as one of its features. That's why I was concerned when I noticed that the checker is not working properly. I don't want to promote something that is not helpful...

What plagiarism checker do you use?

~ Julia

Hi - I use the premium version of Grammarly. It's expensive but as a professional writer and proofreader, I use it every day.

Thank you, Diane. Then, I really wish that Kyle and Carson improve or fix our SiteContent checker...

You need to change the words to make it unique.

Thank you, but it wasn't my question. I purposely created duplicate content to see if SiteContent will catch it and give a warning (that what it used to do in the past), but now it doesn't.

Hey Julia,
Is your test site online and indexed? I set up my test site to not be crawled by Google. Maybe that's why it's not catching anything.
This might be a good question for site support.
Cheers,
Suzanne

Hi Suzanne, Thank you for your response.

I thought about it too. But, yes, it's indexed. I've created this test site for the video tutorial, which I'm working on. I used it to show how to set up a website in Google Analytics and Google Search Console - so, as soon as I set it up, it was indexed.

I'll send the question to Support then... Thank you. I just wanted to be sure that I'm not the only one here at WA who noticed it.

Hmm... I will ask site suppprt in this case.
