Hello all, so yesterday I received some feedback about my website that really brought me down and made me feel like I should quit, then I read a blog post about not giving up..
Trying to please other people is like trying to scoop up air into the middle of a room...it will never happen ...so why try?
And don't let other people who Don't matter...matter! Pat yourself on the back, at least you got there attention.
You do have a lot of contents on your site so I can see your hard work, it doesn't matter what a couple of people have to say. Never criticize others without some good suggestions for improvements. Maybe all you need to do is re-organize the look and feel assuming your contents are rich. It's probably a small fix so don't give up, you have an audience of millions not just a few people who really doesn't care about you. Have fun and success, cheers!
Help with one on one session please?

I just took a look at your website and I like it. Honestly, it has a lot of interesting articles ( I plan to return and spend more time investigating) and eye-catching graphics. I am new to this my self but I know what catches my attention and you have a very good website. Sure, if you get some constructive criticism that you agree with, then implement it and if you feel that you have the right keywords, then I say check out your statistics over time and how it works out. I am very optimistic for your chances.

Hello everyone, is there a way to make a short video clip I made autoplay on my post?
Hey Trevor! I managed to do it on my front page, but you could do it in your blog too. under the text tab use the shortcode below
[video] is the shortcode that opens a video
autoplay="on" will make it auto play
then of course you can change your width and height as you need by changing the numbers
[video autoplay="on" src="YOUR VIDEO URL HERE" width="350" height="200" alt="]
Hope this helps
Cheers
Paul
I keep trying but keep getting an error. I think it's something to do with the url. I'll get it.. I hope

If not, just let me know something and I want to take a look if you want...

Bert, you're always awesome. Thanks.. I'll look into it after I figure out why my website is so confusing to this guy that private messaged me
Depending on your theme adding it to your media library then putting it on your page and having it autoplay. In the collection of themes that my company uses this is an option. I am Not sure if it is an option with all themes..

I used pingdom to test my site load speed and the results were 2.44 seconds. Is that good?
Yep, when I used a certain plugin to have it move scripting to the footer, it totally jacked up my home page. :-) Careful!
lol I wish its only at 75. i condensed my javascript and some other things it suggested, but its having trouble with my homepage... I dont really know whats wrong with it.
75 is not the greatest score indeed...
Did you check your search console if he gave some errors over there?
Yeah, I just loaded my website, and for a second or 2 it looked like it was all plain text, but then went normal...hmmmm...I'll be careful
Yes, I just did, and it's telling me to Remove render-blocking [removed]I think I might know how to do this? Maybe?
Don't listen to wha tit is telling you to remove, these tools are very loose metrics on your site performance. If you go to your website and it loads quickly for you (isn't slow and laggy), it is great.
If you are finding it loads very slowly, then chances are you have plugins stuffing things up.
Thank you for that. There was a lot of technical things it was asking me to do with my jvascript and html, but I didnt want to touch it in fear of screwing up my site.
Yeah, this serves as a distraction more than anything and I see far too many people ruining their websites because they are listening to "mostly bad" advice from an automated tool.
I highly recommend that you ignore this, in particular if your website is loading fast for you. That is the ultimate metric.
Yes, indeed! That's really good.

Check it a few times during the week and get sort of an average.
Hi Pj, thanks for sharing the links. By the way, how to fix the priblem "Remove render-blocking JaveScript"?
Given the follwoing message when check the website on teh Google Developer:
None of the above-the-fold content on your page could be rendered without waiting for the following resources to load. Try to defer or asynchronously load blocking resources, or inline the critical portions of those resources directly in the HTML.
Remove render-blocking [removed]

Thanks!

I know alt text is important. My question is should i use the same keyword for the several images i put in a post? Or do I need to mix it up with different keywords per image?<
I see you have received some good answers already for this....The training video is good provided by Jovo, and the rest is good too...ALT is important and should be included....I did NOT know that it was for the bliind, so I learned something with your question too. Thanks! Dave : )
The purpose of alt text is to describe an image's content for the blind and for people who have image display turned off. If a keyword fits naturally in that description, that's fine. You shouldn't put *just* keywords into alt text. Search engines can view doing that as "keyword stuffing" and penalize you for it.
You can use keyword in the file name for picture, or in the alt text or in the caption. But always add something extra together with it. See more here: Website Image Optimization
Hello there. In my opinion, I think both way is perfectly fine. However, personally, I rather mix different keywords up.
Hope everything's fine.
Tar
Thanks for the comment. I just didn't know if Google would rank images in a single post with multiple images with the same keywords.
I guess you could try by having the same keywords. I mean, there's nothing harm I suppose no?
If the rank doesn't improve, then you can mix it up.
