I will run it by support and see what they say.

Hi Tom, good idea to try the lite version on your test sitesite, I am finding some paid plugins are not compatible with WA hosting.
Better be quick though he's only got one left at that price lol.
Off topic and note to self make sure landing pages are responsive to mobile.
Thanks Alexander. I caught that "only one left" thing too. I'm not sure that is such a great sales tactic in his case. Who believes there is only one left of a digital product?
I am trying it out now on a test site. So far I don't see much difference in site speed. I will give it a couple days.
Tom
I have never heard of it, Tom. But that is a great example of a landing page. A lot of what they are claiming to fix can be done with code but for the price it might be worth a try.
They do claim a lot don't they Tim. I found a lite version for free so I might try it. It does make changes to your site so it will have to be on a test site.
Thanks,
Tom

Hi Tom!
I do believe they impact SEO
H1 - title only (done automatically thru Wordpress)
H2 - sub-headings
H3-H6 under H2's
For the most part, I only use H2, H3 & H4
This article might help - one of many.
http://torquemag.io/2015/08/wordpress-heading-tags/
Like Jovo said below, some themes don't have the option to change the font size for the H tags - one of my themes does (Nirvana or other Cryout Creations Themes), and some don't (like ColorMag).
I read the article Joanne. I didn't see anything that says why we should use the H tags in order. It just says to do it. In Kyle's training here on WA, he uses H3 but not H2 - again with no explanation of why except that it looks better.
I do see some logic to using them in order but does it really hurt our rankings with Google if we don't?
Dang! I know I saw something to that effect here at WA - maybe one of Jay's webinars, but elsewhere online as well; I just can't remember where.
I think if you have either H2 or H3 at it would be ok.
I'll keep hunting for more info Tom.
OK - I'm back
Found a really good page with Matt Cutts & another fellow talking about this subject.
http://www.hobo-web.co.uk/headers/
Thanks Joanne. Very interesting read. I think the answer to my question about how important H2 is to SEO is answered in this extract:
"While the THEORY of a benefit is sound, and keeping in mind John’s advice that there is a ‘slight boost‘, for me there is little hard evidence that H1-H6 headings improve SEO performance in a very noticeable way (in Google)."
I might to some testing on my site to see if I notice any difference though.
Tom
I don't like the look of H2 tags Harry. As I replies to Katie, I could change them in css but I am not convinced it is worth the trouble. I am inclined to agree that it doesn't really matter whether I use H2 or H3 for subheadings.
Hi Tom, you don't have to change them in your style sheet, you can do it with a bit of HTML coding:
You can change the font, size and color to anything you want.
True, it can be done inline as you said. Putting it the css would mean I only have to do it once though.
Thanks Harry.
I use Yoast SEO and I don't know if you know how Yoast works but it gives you a checklist with all things that will improve SEO and rankings (the red buttons turn green when your post is SEO optimized...)
One of the things in the check list is adding H2 headings.
When there is no H2 subheading Yoast tells you to add some to optimize SEO and it will stay red as long as you haven't added any.
I have used Yoast in the past Angélique but I went back to All in One SEO. H2 tags might be helpful, I'm still not sure, buy I am coming to the conclusion that they are not required
Thank you
Some things about Yoast are outdated (such as keyword density) so it may be the same for H2 headings.
Thank you Angélique! Yesterday I was trying to remember the big thing I disagreed with in Yoast and you reminded me. It was keyword density.
As for the H tags, it is probably still relevant, the article Joanne refers to does say there might be a slight benefit to using the H tags in order, but it doesn't seem to make a significant difference.
If you are happy with the way your content looks with H2 tags then using them is probably a good thing.
Tom
I don't think there's much difference between H2 and H3 (although traditionally H2 are seen as you saying this is more important) -as someone mentioned the themes can make a difference. if you don't have any H2 Google will simply move onto H3 to look for words and context.
The search engine is a lot more sophisticated than in the old days where you simply stuffed keywords into headings. I have one post that is being shown in search results based on a sentence in the middle of the post. Try changing some of the posts and see if it makes any difference?
I think you are right Marie, Google will go with the tags it finds and not worry about the missing ones. For now I will stick with what I have been doing and that is using H3 where other might use H2.
Thank you
There is a difference of opinion for sure Marty. There seems to be a small edge for "it doesn't matter."
Same here Katie. H2 just doesn't work for me. I suppose I could use css to make H2 look like H3 if it does make a difference.
Oh your better than me after breaking my site last time will not be messing around with css again lol
Some themes have too big headings so I cannot use H2, it looks ugly, and it is bigger than the page title. Makes no sense. But I do not think this is so critical to have in view of more than 200 other factors at Google and 1000 at Bing.
Exactly Jovo. I don't like the look of H2 and I didn't think it would matter. Some people say it does though.
H1 for titles, H-2 for any other headers is the rule I follow and yes, not having H2 headers will hurt your ranking. :)
Seems to be a mixed response on the question Shawn. Will not having H2 headers hurt or is it that not having any headers other than the H1 title that might hurt?
Thanks for the response,
Tom
According to Jays training it is a must to be using both H! for the title and H2 for the headers. :)
Thanks Shawn. That looks like a good one to watch. I Added it to my saved list.
I added an update to this question. From looking at my own posts I have to say that I don't see any evidence that using H3 tags and skipping over H2 makes a difference.
As an update to the update, I checked the ranking on those same posts this morning and all were the same except the one that was at 18 and that I changed the tags to H2. That one was at 26 today. I don't think changing the tags caused that but it didn't help either.
Tom
Yes using h2 is mandatory but it is always good to follow with one h2 tag and not more than that. Only use h1 for page title and please do avoid it using no where else. Always follow the pattern one h1, one h2, and max three h3 tags in every posts.
Is that true Arjun? Is it really mandatory? I would really appreciate seeing a reference for that. I have heard what your are saying before so maybe there is something to it.
I think we would all be interested in a difinative answer.
Thank you,
Tom

For the last couple days, the following section of my network page seems to be stuck. In other words, people who start following me do not show up in the Snapshot or in the Det
Sometimes I don't get e-mail notifications that I have a new follower. I find out by checking the green button (globe icon). At least I then can connect with them. No clue why this happens. As for support, take note, they are only for site hosting issues, not general WA problems. A better option would be is to send Kyle a PM.
Mine are completely up to date. I'm going to stop following you and then follow you again so we can check.
OK. I stopped following you and I disappeared from your list. Clicked on 'Follow Me' and I'm back there again. Maybe your browser's stuck in a time warp. Clear your cache and it might fix itself.
Thank you Marion.
I did nothing but it is working again now. I see a couple people I missed over the last couple days that I have to follow back.
Thanks again,
Tom
