Wealthy Affiliate and The Secret Millionaire[s]

I just found out recently that I've been hanging out with, working alongside with, been friends with, and even been bugging the hell out of, a number of millionaires in here at WA!!

Not just one, or two or three. Not just Kyle and Carson. Not just some of the very prominent Superaffiliates. Every week recently I'm discovering another millionaire that I did not know about. They are in every corner, every niche, just milling around like regular members! They ARE just regular members! They may or may not have an ambassador badge, many do not, instead they often have very low rank!

The Secret Millionaire 'reality' TV Show vs Real Life at WA

It's just like that TV series that has gone viral across the world, The Secret Millionaire. People all over the world love the idea that a millionaire might 'stoop down' to work alongside them, doing what they do, working through all the same issues as they are working through, talking about the same things they are talking about. But they love it because they think it could never happen to them. Afterall, millionaires tend to live pretty removed from the non-millionaires most of the time. Millionaires 'are different', or are they?

Well not here in WA, you won't be able to tell who is a millionaire and who is not! I couldn't tell in 3.5 years! They don't have any extra privileges either lol. But when I discover one I always say to myself, ah yes I'm not surprised that person is successful because they have always been hardworking and focused and there's something about their attitude too that is positive. Sometimes they seem to be super talented but sometimes they seem just regular people, making all the same mistakes in the beginning that all of us do. And another common denominator between them all is, they agree we should focus on the training and master it. Do you know the percentage of people who start a course, no matter what the subject area, and do not finish it?!!

One big difference between the Wealthy Affiliate training platform and The Secret Millionaire TV series is whereas on TV they sort of pop out of a cake and give people thousands of dollars to help out, here they give people the resources and help to make those thousands of dollars themselves. And they don't piss off back to their millionaire worlds afterwards, they stay and continue to help us and work on their businesses alongside us.

We have the exact same resrouces and help that set them on the path to being millionaires, we also have their help.

It's a bit of a shock when someone you know pretty well and even might have had a lot of interaction with suddenly says 'oh I broke $100k a month with my site back in 2016', or 'oh I've been making a million a year for over 10 years now'. I knew Kyle was a millionaire and naturally his WA cofounder Carson, and I'd even heard him introduce WA to us with things like 'rubbing shoulders with millionaires' but it is only in the past few weeks and months that I realized how true that was. It's like I've been looking at it all the time but just didn't see it! I now look around this community as if my eyes have been opened for the first time.

We are influenced by environment more than we realize - A Double Edged Sword!

A quote comes to mind by Jim Rohn, 'You are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with'.

Epigenetics is showing us how environment influences our health and triggers our genes this way or that, it seems logical environment would influence our success too.

But that is a bit of a double edged sword, because in a large platform where all members have equal posting rights and privileges and the age old wise saying ''Empty vessels make the most noise'' still holds true, just because there are good resources here and just because there are successful people in here willing to help you does not mean you will use them or gravitate towads them. YOU must make the decision to choose where you spend your time and where you put your focus. You could spend time socializing in here, chatting, getting caught up in flame wars or sucked in by the stray drama queen or king passing through, and you might not know them either when you see them at first lol.

The WA Training Environment

In addition to hosting and training in Wordpress, SEO, and all aspects of marketing, this platform allows people to post blogs which helps them to gain experience in writing content, in gaining followers, in gaining rank, in communicating and being active online - many of the practices google requires of website owners. So it is a training ground on that level too.

But THAT can also become a distraction and pull peeps down the rabbit hole focusing more on inhouse rank than Google rank for their content and websites. The chat can become addictive in the same way that for example Facebook is an amazing resource today, but not everyone uses it in a way that serves them best. It is possible to use all aspects of this platform to serve you and your business, and have fun and make friends at the same time. Awareness of that and balance is key.

Other Training Environments

This week I was in the process of applying to yet another affiliate program, as one does, called Clickbank. I'd heard people were making good money selling some of the programs there so I thought I'd check it out. I thought I was just going to get an affiliate link and move on but oh no, I was made endure a long video by two young guys boasting about being entrepreneurs at age 15, which didn't inspire me as I approach a milestone birthday with a new zero on it this w/e.

They were pressure selling me that this 'one time offer was going to disappear as soon as I left the page. The price was not disclosed. The training was not disclosed or even there for me to try out free before committing. There wasn't even an opportunity to rewind or replay their video. Oh, and they were telling me the world as we know it was going to end, I had to act now.

Ok guys, time to stop playing the scary music and draw back the curtains, open the windows for some fresh air please.

They were also playing the millionaire card. Huh. Can't swing a cat in WA without hitting a millionaire these days :D

*note: many affiliates in here use the Clickbank affiliate program very successfully, selling products and making commissions. What I'm referring to is the pressure I experienced to join their 'training' while going through the affiliate program application.

Is WA Legit?

This question is asked by new people to the platform all the time every day. They are so used to being ripped off and just want to know straight up are these resources for real. Well I know having been here quite a while that yes it is legit, the resources are excellent. The training seems to be the fastest way to get online especially if you are new to getting traffic or new to wordpress websites and the system seems quite superior to get your content ranked on page 1 of google, which is what everyone wants.

WA is also the only platform I've found that offers people the chance to grow an income and work from home from absolutely zero money starting off. That's the place I'm starting from myself. I know it is possible to get a couple of commissions and be in here with all the training and managed wordpress hosting for 25 websites for free. I've done that myself.

WA is a legit 'work' from your home or work from your laptop opportunity, but notice that word 'work'. You are expected to put in the hours to work on your website and do the training the same way you'd put in hours in any other job, though this time you are your own boss. No silly scams like most of the stuff flung in our face out there. On this platform you will see absolute beginners shouting for joy that they made their first affiliate commission even if it is only a few cents, knowing if they can get one they can get more. You'll see people at it a little while saying they've got 40-50k traffic and making 4 figures a month. And there are people further on in the journey making much much more.

Who are the WA Secret Millionaires?

Well it wouldn't be a secret if I told you :P

Ok, ok, enough of the teasing. Truth is there are three ways to answer that:

  1. You will get to know them the way I did, however long that takes organically.
  2. I'll show you someone not in the mmo niche who is openly known to have hit $100k a month inside 4 years. https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/rich I'd encourage you to read his blogs from the very first one and see his progress unfold. I've had online millionaires say they did this or that but I could never relate to them, but I can see @RICH working through all the same sort of issues I'm working on, that makes it very real.
  3. Then there is the 'next WA millionaires' group! I'm in that and it's open to anyone who really wants to go for it! One thing you've got to ask yourself is if you are ready to raise your financial ceiling and move that money set point - one extra resource I encourage everyone to take a look at is their own subconscious mind and programming. A good resource with a 5 mintue daily journaling exercise to shift things in the right direction on that front is the Mental Bank by John Kappas who founded the Hypnosis Motivation Institute. The video on how to do that is on youtube, just type in Mental Bank George Kappas. And a recent excellent training by the WA live coach Magistudios was on Niche Goals, Projections and Outcomes which is a really practical way to set up and achieve goals, I just loved what he said about results / outcomes and deadlines, set up not to fail ;) https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/niche-goal-projecti...

Any Shortcuts?

People succeed in different time frames for different reasons, but there are no shortcuts on doing the training and mastering it. One shortcut does exist however, and that is the training itself. Kyle actually has condensed down all the things he uses himself in his millionaire business, he is aware of what's happening in all the other programs out there, he has taken the best of everything along with his experience and condensed it. It is actually the best bs-free training I've found anywhere. It works. And he and Carson backed up the training with the technology to make it a hassle free experience for people with websites to just focus on their content moreso than the tech side of running an online biz. And it just keeps getting better in here every day as they continue to develop the platform.

Conclusion

This is a pretty long WA blog for members to read but it's both an introduction and an encouragement:

1. My introduction for new members that I invite to the platform which hopefully will help them understand rank and activity and put it all in perspective with the money and resources.

2. As well as encourage hard working members that in 3.5 years as a member I've observed all levels of success in here, it's like watching a garden grow and the plants are all different sizes. So many of them give up too early, and so many of the hard working members are more silent on the dashboard as they are so busy with their websites.

Don't give up, keep growing your skills and your website to full maturity. :)

Mary

*ps after writing this blog I noticed a member 'pretending' to be one of the secret millionaires, of course a secret millionaire would not suddenly draw attention to themselves nor use click bait titles based on my post to get you to read theirs. Remember what I said above, it's a large platform.

Thank you Mary for sharing this post. I have enjoyed the reading.

Thank you Yanuaria, best wishes starting out on the platform! :)

Great blog Mary and very inspiring. I consider myself as being on the first rung, but that's at least on the ladder because I'm here!

Thanks Gail, yes Kyle has made the ladder pretty easy for us to hop on and climb up! :)

Can't agree more. I am not one of the millionaires but maybe someday right?

It's there for you, no question about it! Where there's traffic there's hope, and we know how to get traffic :)

Thanks for sharing Mary. (Iknow this sounds so cliche, but I mean it) :)

Thanks Nick, I appreciate that you mean it :)

I have enjoyed reading your blog, Mary.

I will read it over and over again.

Thank you very much.
Cheers
Mike

That's great Mike, best wishes for 2018 and looking forward to hearing your success stories :)

Great post! Very encouraging and inspirational!
Thanks,
Marcus

Thank you Marcus, that's great to hear. Sometimes we write what's on our mind not quite knowing if we are communicating it, so I appreciate the feedback!

Big Smile!!!

...and a big smile back at ya! :)

Love this post! It's both inspirational and educational. I love WA!

WOOHOO! Let's make this happen! :)

Wonderful post, LMM! Really inspired me to quit procrastinating and get on with it! Right now I've got my hands full painting my kitchen getting ready to sell my house, but I need to carve out some time to write as well. It's difficult for me to concentrate when I have that huge task hanging over my head. When I'm painting, I feel like I should be writing, and when I'm writing, I feel like I should be painting! But I love writing once I get out of the kitchen and onto the keyboard! HRH

Excellent blog post, Mary. I really enjoyed it and was inspired.

One question though: You asked early in the post, "Do you know the percentage of people who start a course, no matter what the subject area, and do not finish it?!!" Was that a rhetorical question or do you know? Just curious.

I would imagine the percentage is fairly high for non-finishers. I've been guilty of it myself a time or two.

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!

I've heard different figures quoted both online and offline, will depend on the course of course but it is surprisingly high in all of them! Then of course they are not even counting those who 'officially finish' but didn't do any work at all, which would include some of the early courses I did myself and perhaps an even bigger percentage of first time college students
