About SWagner2
Joined October 2017
Time to update my bio and my pic. When I first joined I didn't know if I would stay or not, but now it's official - I'm here to stay! So I'm an anonymous owly drinking coffee no more. :^)

I live in sunny, sunny Arizona with my hubby and three kitties. We used to ride our motorbikes all over the U.S. for fun but age has caught up with me and the old back, hips and knees just can't take those long rides anymore. We still putt around the valley for short rides but nothing like we used to do. We got to see a lot of the country on those bikes though, and I'm grateful for the experiences and memories, without a doubt.

My background is not fascinating, I'm just an average person, for sure. Occupations I've had in the past range from legal secretary to accounting clerk to court reporting scopist. I had retired from the ol' 9 to 5 a while back, but kept busy with eBay and a bit of writing here and there. And then I came across Wealthy Affiliate. This platform really caught my attention and it's one that I think I can work with for a few years. It's a legitimate way to make some money with a website or two, and it's full of great people! What better way to spend my retirement?

Happy to Be Here,

Susan

Thanks for the follow back Susan
I hope we can reach our potential here. I think any person like you or me, who is humble enough to admit that they are an average person, is just that one level below finding their true self, and so close to finding their inner holy grail. I’ve written a blog on it, which you can check out on my profile page.
Best wishes

Greetings!

I'm catching up on my new follows, so I just wanted to take time to thank you for adding me to your network, Susan.

I'd say riding across teh United States on a bike is definitely fascinating, Susan! Have you ever thought about writing a book to share your travels?

Hi Susan, thank you for the follow. I could suggest an outrider, which if you google it, you will find it is a simple trike conversion. Similar to training wheels on a child's pushbike.
This link is not my website (so I can't get in trouble with WA for spamming).

I wish you success with your online business. Have a great day. Dave

My in-laws actually have a Honda Goldwing trike they thought we might be interested in, but I just can't sit in a riding position for very long, whether I'm driving or riding 2-up. Unfortunately my back just won't tolerate it for more than an hour of riding. The scooter and the CB1100 are fine for us right now. Still get the wind in our hair riding those (so to speak - we do wear helmets, LOL).

Hi there and many thanks for following me. I read your bio and saw that you in live in Arizona. I too used to live in AZ -- for 17 years. I was in Tucson for 14 years and then in Benson for three years. I now in New Mexico, one state over. Not far. I enjoy living in the Southwest. I also read that you and hubby used to ride motorcycles all over and that sounds pretty cool. I know you had to stop for health-related reasons and I get that, but I think that would make a great niche idea for one of your websites -- Traveling the US by Motorcycle. It is unique and I am sure you have plenty of ideas and experiences you could share. Just some food for thought.

Keep in touch and by the way, by name is Steph. :)

Hi Steph,

I thought about the motorcycle angle but decided against it since we don't ride that much anymore. I'd just be writing about past trips, and we had a quite a few great tours since we rode a lot for about 12 years, but . . . I don't know. It just doesn't interest me that much now.

New Mexico is a beautiful state. There's something about the sky there that's just prettier than any other state I've ever seen. We love the area north of Albuquerque and rode through it many times.

Thanks for the follow back,

Susan

It was just a thought about the motorcycle niche. I like New Mexico sunsets a lot too. I have many pictures of New Mexico sunsets. We have a two story home with balconies in the front and back of our home where we can sit and see either the sunrise or the sunset. We sometimes get a glass of wine (or two) and sit outside on the balcony and watch the sunset.

We live north of ABQ. We live just south of Santa Fe, not in the city of Santa Fe, on the outskirts, so from our balcony, we see the city lights from the distance, real pretty.... :)

If you ever come out this way, let me know, we can get together. :)

You bet. Do you still own the motorcycles or did you sell them? What do you think your niche will be? Any ideas?

We still have a Honda CB1100 and a little Honda PCX150 scooter. The weather is nice this weekend so we may get out for a short ride this Sunday just to enjoy the early spring-like weather.

I actually started here in October but didn't sign up for Premium until after Thanksgiving when WA had their Black Friday sale. I thought it was a good deal for all that they offered here. So I have one website which is aimed toward older people and medical marijuana and CBD, but I'm rethinking this site.

As far as monetizing the site it is fairly difficult since medical marijuana isn't even legal in all 50 states (yet). Plus the audience for the site probably doesn't even explore the internet that much, LOL. I don't know, some people over 60 do go out on the internet everyday, but probably not as many as people in the 18 to 50 years old category. My mother-in-law is in her 80s and uses the internet quite a bit, but I'm thinking she's more of an exception than the rule.

Anyway, I'd like do a different niche and just chalk this first one up as a learning lesson. Probably won't renew my domain name at the end of the year. I might even try to sell it, who knows.

Hello Susan and Welcome To Wealthy Affiliate.
Since you've been here you might have come to the conclusion that internet marketing can be a steep learning curve.
You must keep up with the training and keep referring to it but if you get really stuck on anything then can I suggest you browse some of the 400+ blogs I have published within WA.

You can always get in touch with me as well.

You have decided to follow me and I will follow you as well.
Have a great day.

Hello Susan,

We Ebay also. Just picked up a whole lot of golf balls that we are selling in 5 dozen lots and the first shipment is going out today wit ha hefty profit. But I would much rather be building content on my websites and connecting with my readers and visitors.

I know you have been here since October and much of this you are likely familiar with but I am leaving here a link to my Keeping It Super Simple tutorial. If I can help in any way as you get rolling here please let me know.
Best wishes for lasting online success both with Ebay and especially with your niche websites.

Kind regards always,

Carl

Thanks, Carl. I really hope to be done with eBay by the end of the year. Already I'm not spending as much time on it as I used to because I'm trying to get through the Certification and then Affiliate Bootcamp, too.

eBay can be fun, but it can also be extremely time consuming, especially with sourcing. That's the issue I'm having right now - just finding good, saleable items. It can be a challenge sometimes.

I'll check out your KISS training later this morning. I suspect I am making it too complicated than it needs to be. :^)

Can anyone give me advice here? I'm running into trouble finding affiliate programs to sign up with. In my particular niche I've discovered that companies I wanted to work with either don't have an affiliate program or want you to have a certain amount of traffic that I just do not have now. I feel like I've chosen a dud niche for all sorts of reasons. What to do?

or looked at your niche and thought of associated things

My niche is medical marijuana and CBD oils geared towards seniors.

But my main question is what do you do when you're just starting out and an affiliate demands that your site has a lot of traffic?
Reply
feigner Premium
you have two choices - get a lot of traffic or select another affiliate until you have a lot of traffic and then go back to the first if you are still interested.
Within that market the number of affilaites should be growing almost daily.
I think boomergp08 is doing something with this, might be worth sending him a pm after reading through his blogs and training.
I take it you have searched on here for cbd and medical marijuana? there are a few posts.
So you can start by putting together a site with information and getting traffic.
Good luck Susan

Thanks, Phil. I am working on my site every day. Haven't tried searching WA for CBD or MMJ yet though. I'll try that.

When you need immediate money eBay may be a way to go. But as you say, it can be very time demanding.

I prefer a business model that provides me passive income from multiple sources. That is what we learn here at WA. Its called Affiliate Marketing. Of course, marketing your own digital products can be much more profitable, but it takes time to develop.

I hope things are going well. I know you are getting rolling within the training and there is ONE thing that always tends to confuse people and that is "what is my niche?".

I know, same thing happened to me when I started.

I just wanted to reach out and let you know that I am here if you ever want to run any niche "ideas" by me or you have any questions about finding your niche.

Get back to me when you get the chance! :)
