How To Add A Picture To Your WordPress Blog
In this short tutorial I’m going to show you how to add a picture to your WordPress post or page.
1) Make sure you are in the Visual tab.
2) Click into the place where you want to add the picture.
3) Click the “Add Media” button.
4) Click on the “Upload Files” tab.
5) Click on the “Select Files” button.
6) Choose the picture file you want to insert into your post/page.
7) Click on the “Open” button.
8) Once the file is uploaded you can type in a Title, Alt Text and Description.
9) Choose the alignment – Left, Center, Right or None.
10) Choose Link To None.
11) Select your preferred size from the drop down options.
12) Click the “Insert into post” button.
13) Make sure that the picture is exactly where you want it to be then click the “Update” button.

Thanks Marion. Just a comment regarding alignment. I have seen on two different training videos that it's usually preferential to place image on the right of the page.
Reasons by Kyle & Jay.
1. If the SEO search bot comes across image on the left and your keywords are on the right it will get confused. (one way around it I think was by adding your keyword into the image's alt-text and caption)
2. In the West at least, we read left to right. Apparently a picture on the left is 'in the way,' slows our reading, makes us tired, and we leave site too early.
I for one don't want to get too rigid on this but it is worth keeping in mind.
Thanks for your advice. I have also read that all pictures should be aligned to the left, so I guess it's a matter of personal choice. ~Marion
