I appreciate your question, Jeremy :)

i hope you were able to figure out your Shopify?

I'm still thinking on it - I might purchase the domain and go that route! ;)

Okay! Please keep us posted on your progress, and all the best.

Yes, that is a feature that will be coming. We pulled it out of the initial release because there needs to be a lot of thought that goes into this.

But there will definitely be different "types" coming into the Designer platform as time goes on. ;)

Sweet - so I was thinking on the correct path. I mean, use it to our advantage while still making it personally human... its a win-win!

Readers want to see personal reviews, not computer generated. Writing from experience of a product is far more natural and Google will be happy.

Totally agree - I did forget to mention for outlining purposes only. See below dianes comment for clarity. :)

Hi - I am not sure using AI for product reviews is a good idea.

Google is looking for personal opinions, something unique, not just a rewrite of the product specifications.

So, if the review includes all the usual AI giveaways, such as Ah, Fear Not, Picture This, Hey There or any metaphors relating to sailing or dancing, then Google will potentially assume you actually have no knowledge of the product.

This makes sense i agree, i'm just thinking for outlining purposes.

For example: product review on 3 tine forks, and the outline is spit out as follows -- Introduction:

Now, i'm saying, that the ai writer wouldn't write it for you. ( some may choose to at this point), but you could take an example of this and write your own review based on this outline. sometimes you might need talking points for your product review.

I don't know, maybe I'm over-thinking today...

Yes, no problem with using AI for outlines and structure, that is one of its strengths.

Is it just me, or does it seem like it's taking longer to get articles indexed on Google? I used to get them every 3-4 days after publishing, now it seems like weeks to months.

In addition, you would want to work on internal linking and not leave posts orphaned. And that's if you are not already doing :)

Oh I am internal, external, and upsidedown-ernal linking my posts!! :)

Can you please clarify? I am not sure I understand.

It's a reference to a bernstein bears book "inside, outside, upside down".

I threw it in as it was on my mind, but to be clear, yes, I am internal linking on all my posts. I have an internal linker plugin setup as well.
:)

Okay! Thank you for the clarification :)

You have very good advice and guidance here…let us know if you have any further questions.

-Mike

:)

It depends on your trust factor with Google and that's partly a reflection of how old and how active your sites are. My posts are normally indexed within an hour or two, so it does get better.

I can only imagine mine will increase...I'd like to think I'm pretty active however they aren't that old.

Mine are measured in years. And I submit my posts and pages to GSC as soon as they are published.

You can Request indexing for your pages that are taking longer, but that is their current assigned schedule for your website. Google will index different sites at a different rate.

Within Google Search Console, you will be able to inspect a page, and then REQUEST INDEXING. This can sometimes speed up the indexing process.

Maybe I missed the memo in training, or perhaps I understood it differently.

My question is this: You think of a keyword, let's say "What to do in Maui for free".
<

If your initial keyword is “What to do in Maui for free” and you’ve researched the topic, saw that it has a good score on Jaaxy and you optimize it for SEO then that should be your focus keyword. That’s a long tail keyword. A keyword can be any word/phrase that you’d be talking about in your blog post. You can rank for many other keywords (ex. What to do in Maui, Maui) as well if you’re really focused on your keyword.

I figured I could add other kewords, but as long as the main one is my goal. This all helps, thank you for responding!

You’re welcome!

You are well covered here with some great guidance!

-Mike

I thought so too. I might see better results in rankings once I make all of my upgrade changes.

I agree…best of luck!

-Mike

A "focus keyword" is the primary keyword or phrase you want your content to rank for in search engines.

It helps optimize your content for that keyword, increasing your chances of ranking higher in SERPs.

Right on. I feel like I mis-understood it at one point in time, then I doubled back and second-guessed myself, then I just ignored it, now im back on track.

Your focus keyword would be the entire phrase

"What to do in Maui for Free"

Don't worry that the "word" is called a "keyword", this doesn't mean it's a singular word.

A "keyword" can be anything from 1 word to LOTS...

Essentially, you're told to target "longtail keywords", these are usually phrases of at least 3 words (but usually more)

Partha

Ok, so thanks for that, I need to go through my 150 some articles and make sure I've incorporated at least that. No biggie ;)

I figured as much, but somewhere in the crossheirs, I started using just 1 or 2 words in the "Phrase".

Thanks Partha

Hey Jeremy,

As long has you have used your "focus keyword" within your article..

In the title
Within the first paragrpah of your introduction

And although NOT required - maybe within a subheading and perhaps in the conclusion

That's absolutely fine.

If you're talking about "going back through 150 articles" to add a "focus keyword" via your SEO plugin, don't worry,

I wrote the following 2 years ago... still relevant to this day An SEO plugin doesn't actually "do anything", it's simpy there for guidance, but as you'll see in my above article, you can actually manipulate an SEO plugin to give you a 100/100 score - this doesn't mean that you'll catapault yourself to top rankings - the most important part of SEO is what's in your article, NOT what you input into an SEO plugin.

So, as long as your keyword is included in your ACTUAL ARTICLE and it is OBVIOUS that your article is focused around that keyword, you're good to go.

Partha

I see your point, and I thank you for the tips. I still feel I need to take today to go through the majority of my articles, as It will help me see if I have at least followed THIS information.

So far, I've done over 25 and 5 I have done perfect in this nature. I may have slipped on some intro's but it's all getting fixed now.

Superb Info regardless, thanks Partha!

If you have a keyword that you search for, and your results are:
<10 Avg, <10 Traffic, and 0 QSR, do you go for it as "low hanging fruit"? What if the QSR is hoverin

You have fantastic responses here; kindly let us know if you require additional assistance. I hope you have figured it out.

All good Abie, thank you.

Hi - take a read of my post.

Ok, this sort of starts to make sense. Going one step further then, if the <10 results are considered Unkown, then it's safe to assume a 0 QSR would benefit you pending a Google search vs one that has 34 let's say?

Did you read the last sentence in Diane’s blog link above? Tell me what does it say? Your answer is right in front of you. Please re-read and look 👀 for the sentence with the big G- that's the answer to your question.

Always relies on Googly Eyes to get the intel...Just making sure!

Well, it's not quite as simple as that because Jaaxy only gives you the results for an exact match keyword.

In other words, if somebody types every single word in your keyword in the exact same order.

But Google doesn't work like that; it tries to understand what the "searcher intent " is - and will offer results that don't match exactly.

Here's an example - if you look in Jaaxy for "How to Lose a Stone in Seven Days," you will see that the result is <10 and the QSR is zero.

So, you might think you have struck gold by actually spelling the word "seven" rather than using the number.

But, as far as Google is concerned, it means exactly the same as "How to Lose a Stone in 7 Days" and will bring up all the results for that as well.

And if you look in Jaaxy for the second version, using 7 rather than "seven," you will see that the QSR is 200.

So, that's your true competition.

Always put your keyword in Google yourself, and look at what comes up to see who your true competitors are and determine whether you could beat them.

Golden! Google! Goose! Got it!
Thank you!

Thank you Diane. I assumed that meant less than 10 searches, further implying that anything under 10 was not being collected as data.

Do you know how well Jaaxy projects traffic compared to other tools? I've read that none of the tools really know and are guessing, but not sure how close the guesses are between the tools.

Regards,

Jason

Sorry, I don't know how it works, but it is based on historical data, not real-time, as are all the other similar tools.

I have wondered this same thing! Thank you for asking it. I am looking forward to hearing the answers. :)
