So, I'm still figuring out this social media thing. Last night I was on Facebook, and I started getting a lot of friend requests. This morning I had a lot more.
I
I just looked at your WA profile. Looks like you've added your Facebook link for people to follow you. This can be a reason why you get so many friend requests.
You can always check if you know them from WA or from somewhere else. If you are friends with other WA members on Facebook, you can always check if you have mutual friends with the one who sent you a request.
Most likely it's someone from WA who saw your Facebook link on your profile or saw you as a mutual friend with others in their friends' list.
But that's not only with WA members. In general, the more friends you follow, the more friend requests you'll get. For many people it's enough to see you're a mutual friend of their friends to send you a request.
Same goes for groups. If you participate in groups, you'll get a good amount of friend requests from group members.
At the end of the day, you decide which ones to accept or to decline.
Happy networking. I just sent you a request. :)
Yeah, I usually look at the number of mutual friends. If we have a lot of common friends then hopefully they're OK.
I have been trying to post more to groups lately also.
I'll be happy to accept your request the next time I get on FB.
Thanks Nicole.
I add fishermen all the time. I sent the requests to begin with. Now they come in after I post content.
Do be careful who you accept. I click over to their profile first. If they only have 1 or 2 posts, it's most likely a fake account.
Always verify, the request is from a genuine individual, but we are in the business of attracting traffic to our page(s) and with that there is a risk that some of our visitors are not real.
The more friends you have the more news-feeds your post show up on. The more your post show up the more friend request you receive.
Yes check each one and make sure they are legitimate profiles as about 25% of the ones I get are fake profiles with only a couple of post.
Yes, I usually check out their post, and if there isn't much there, I don't follow. Good to know I'm doing the right thing.
Thank you.
Sounds like you are and the more friends you have the more newsfeeds you show up on so it all works together.

Do forms not work with free websites?

Okay, I've completed the Certification Courses and started the Affiliate Bootcamp and I'm a little confused on the max number of affiliate links that are okay to use in posts.
A link to a WA blog or training is only considered an affiliate link by Google if it has your affiliate ID number at the end of the url.
However if you are the author/creator of the WA blog or training and you post the link WITHOUT your affiliate ID number, Google will see it as just an ordinary link, however it will still act like an affiliate link if someone joins WA from it.
Ahhh. So that's why Kyle can have so many links in his. Correct? That's very helpful.
Thanks Robert.
Yes. This is why I write many WA blogs that promote WA. Not only because the WA blogs will get indexed and ranked in Google, making it possible for someone to join, but also because I can place links to my WA blogs on my website and Google will not see them as affiliate links.
That's some great information. I may have to try that myself.
Thanks again Robert. I appreciate it.
Depends. On an 800-1000 word article I use no more than 2. I just wrote a 2000 word review and used 3.
I guess it depends. I have more on my business site but I pretty link them. My fishing site uses Amazon so I can't pretty link them. But I link with big calls to action that lead to the main product page. Not the individual product. That way people see more choices. So I don't really need more than 2 links on my fishing articles.
Okay. I've heard of pretty links but haven't gotten to that yet. I think it's covered in the next phase.
Thanks again.
A link to a blog or training is an affiliate link. I use one only. I do two to three other links in a post, one affiliate and to internal.
I believe the longer the post the more links are OK.
Thanks Dianne, I guess what threw me off was the fact that Kyle had so many in his WA review. Why would this be?

I published a post today and my publishing frequency went down 10%. For the week I've published 3 posts and my publishing frequency went down 20%. What gives? This is very frus
Same thing has happened to me these last two posts and its truly upsetting when you're working your tail off trying to do all these task and write quality articles; your "publishing frequency" has been at 100% the whole time, then as quick as you post newbies, it drops 10% in less than 24 hours of publishing new content! WHAT IS GOING ON?? Between this, and FB I am beyond frustrated! I'm very cranky!
I have had the same issue in the past it will correct itself just be patient and I know it's hard to be been there a few times
Sounds like a glitch to me. I wouldn't worry about it because it will not harm your Google rankings, especially if you are consistently publishing content.
Mine is also doing that. I contacted support and they told me that it would "correct itself" - it hasn't. Searching through some of the other posts and comments inside WA, I am starting to believe that the publishing frequency feature might be a tad buggy :P
I published content consistently every 3 days for over a month and my current publishing frequency is 20%
I'm not sure that they are actually working on fixing it. The posts I found about it were kinda old (a year-ish, or more). I'd say to just keep plugging away at your usual pace and not worry about what it says in SiteManager for now. You know how often you are publishing. If you are happy with that then don't worry too much about the green bar :P
Thank you lunatrix! That is super refreshing to know! I have been running in to trouble with everything yesterday and today. It is all making me a cranky witch, lol!

Is it always "better late than never"? I've always believed that it is, but I am still learning here and I recently discovered a comment from 3 months ago that I hadn't replied
Hi Gary, it will never hurt. If you reply to an old comment, I am sure that person will be happy to receive it. It shows that his comment is interesting and relevant and, who knows, it may revive another discussion among the WA community. He may reply back to you as well.
I get comments that are months old sometimes and just reply no problem as they are there for ever!!!
I've replied to some very old comments on old threads.
It can often happen that the thread is "not in the news" anymore, but sometimes, you'll get an answer from the blog author.
Very occasionally, from someone who still chances upon it....
The older the material, the more likely this is to happen.
If the comment is on your site, than I'd definately agree: Better late than never.....it's always better to show engagement than not to, and a fresh add to comments content is surely always good, if still relevant.....
