About Botipton
Joined July 2015
I have been a Rodeo Clown, Deputy Sheriff, Newspaper Editor, Business Owner, Truck Driver, Part-time College Professor, published Poet, author, News Paper Editor Full-Time Internet Marketer and much more.

I have always had a interest in learning and doing something new. My life has never been boring. I love learning so much that at the age of 49 I went back to college.

Here is the secret to being able to do some much in your life time. Live a lot of years.

The things I have done has given me the ability to write about diverse subjects. My writing is always sprinkled with a unique point of view and humor.

I am from the time before Computers and Cell phones and have learned how to use this wonderful tool so I do not have to leave the house for a Job . I spend my time working with people who are new to the Internet to help them realize the freedom of working from home.

You can never learn to much and that is why I am here. Wealthy affiliate is a wealth of knowledge that works. I came to Wealthy Affiliate in 2015 and did not pay a lot of attention to it at the time. Now I am an active WA affiliate because of the proven way it helps people.

Thank you for inviting me to follow, Bo! Being a good clown takes wisdom, and from your multifaceted experience(s), enjoying life as you obviously do, that depth and humor is still with you! I'm also 65. We're aware of values we had, but being interconnected as now were beyond our reach. I guess the trick today is to keep focus, avoiding (too many) distractions. WA has been an eye-opener in so many ways, via the sincerity of this community. It was almost by coincidence I found it, and it sure is a path out of habitual circles. It will take some time, though - WA is to me a core base with a long-term view, meanwhile learning and interacting, continuing from what I've done prior. We have a lot in common overall, it seems - both of us in good shape, bouncing - even cruising a truck through landscapes is an old dream of mine, but then again philosophy doesn't always entail a driver license... Let's talk along the road!

All the best!

Hello,
What a great post! I am like you I have done a wide variety of jobs. I often feel like a jack of all trades but a master of none! I am very grateful for the experiences I have had throughout my life.
Now on to the next greatest adventure, learning this internet thing! I am happy to have this platform to guide me.
You have had a great deal of writing experience so I'll ask you, if you'll allow me the liberty, is it better to have lengthy content that drones on and on or does brevity play a role?
Have a wonderful day.

There is value in both. My post are around 600 words but have more if I have something else to say. I think you never should inflate a post just to make sure you have enough words. I know that Google has got where it does not like short post in the 200 to 400 range. To easy to game the system with them.

I think it is better to be concise, say what you need to then end the post instead of trying to add things to make the post longer.

Hi Botipton, thank you for your support by following me. I am a South African living in Cape Town. I am a Newbie with Internet Marketing, but very happy to be part of the WA family.
Like yourself, I was also involved in at least 30 plus different business ventures and always looking at new opportunities. How can we go wrong with WA, this is the place to be if you are serious about building an online business. I wish you all the success and blessings with you WA business.

Thanks for following me! You have many interesting occupations in your past, like rodeo clown... Many of them pretty much as far from my life as possible - but here we are in the interenet marketing forum having similar goals!

Even though I'm younger than you, I'm also from the time before cell phones and my first computer was Commodore 64. :) So, yes, it's been interesting to see how much the world has changed in a very short time. We just have to adapt and get the most of the current version we're living in.

Have a great week!

Looks like we have plenty in common, like a clown, truck driver, business owner, internet marketer and (aspiring, in my case) writer. Thanks for the follow. I am reciprocating in kind. By the way, I love that bright colored shirt (with the clouds and the surfin' woody) you're wearing in the picture. I see you also have a canine in the background, making you a pet lover, I presume?

You presume right. I usually have a critter round some where although like in my last post on here I had one laughing at me.

Yes I like bright colors and here in the small town we live in I am know as the "feller with the bright colored shirts."

I appreciate what you wrote about the stairs and falling. And I am
also a dog lover. I was a dancer and even taught it when I was younger. Even though I was suppose to be graceful as I got older I began to trip a good deal and fall. I also developed osteoporosis. Therefore my last fall I broke my femur and it was on my bedroom floor. I am ok from that or just about ok. Thought I would throw that in while falling was being discussed.
I have not done what I should do here on WA. I have found there is life and so much that gets in the way. Serious stuff! But I always have this in the back of my head and really try to get back here. I am now determined to stay focused. I need to make a little money if I can. I appreciate all the people following me even though I am not sure what it means but I hear it is a good thing. Goodnight all....Judy :)

There is a lot of life that gets in the way, and I too have been sidelined occasionally. I am here now, and have become much more active by just setting aside a certain time--like right now, I woke this morning at 4:00 am and here I am. Anyway, much luck to you and I will be following your journey at WA

One of the things that helps me is to sit aside a little time each day to work on this. Even if it is just an hour. If you do you will be pleasantly surprised how quickly things change.

One of the people I work with built a successful website and business on their lunch hour. They talked to their boss and he agreed to let them use it to work on their business during lunch only. They did not have Internet access at home and could only work on it during their lunch hour at work.

Pretty quickly they got where they could afford Internet and a computer. Now they no longer need a job and are doing great. It all started with 1 hour a day on a companies computer. If their boss knew that was going to happen they probably would of said no.

I am glad you are doing better from the fall.

I wanted to thank you again and I am curious about what your view is on what is considered the hard work of getting this going...understood is time a few months possibly...basically I'm looking for a model site to look over and see how the structure is such as where products are placed and how the reviews are written
Thank you
Mark

botipton Premium
Everything is relevant to how much you want to work and the time you want to invest. As far as a model site that is hard to find. Each site is based on the theme you chose and how you work with it. So a model site is hard to find.

There are people and places that will send you a generic site that works with everything ready to go but then you are one of the thundering herd but then you are not doing something to make yourself stand out.

A few months is it possible? Yes it is.
Reply
Thank you for the information. I still need some work and glad to know in a few months it is possible with W.A. I was apprehensive because I have tried three other websites and lots of money invested with my credit cards in a different company that didn't work (computer stuff like tablets for sale). Still paying them off... My current Tshirtsbymark...was done by a couple friends and no one has ordered..even though it has seo ...however I read it's not good to try your own product...because most people want brand names.
Are you using Pay Pal for payment...haven't been that far yet in my training...

Thank you again
Reply
botipton Premium
I use PayPal for payment here. I use several different ones for Payment on my sites.

There is nothing wrong in using your own product like t-shirts if you have a unique selling point. Something that makes you stand out from the thundering herd. Otherwise you are just one of many. If you want to send me a private message and we will talk about it.

You should not go into debt here to build your business. You should build your business to pay off your debts.

What is taught here has been proven over and over again to work if you do the work. I know you can do this. It is time to move away from struggling and not making anything.

Hi There, I have had this system for quite a while. I have done nothing with it because I get stuck on what do I do with it, feeling I have nothing to offer. I have been looking at the things you have done and I really would like to get this off the ground. I have many interests. Should I just go with my most loved interest, and then the next liked? I am not getting any younger and working is getting old after all these years. I do not have any social media accounts because they seem to be so silly, people putting their lives out there, which I think is so silly. Is there any hope for me?
Reply

Sure there is hope for you. Even people without social media accounts that are getting older and that are tired of working is a niche to work in. Think about what you love doing and would not mind writing about it every day.

Only concentrate on one thing at a time.

If you one to message me and talk about some ideas fell welcome to do so.

So yes there is hope for you and you actually in a good place to start.

I too think the social media has gotten 'silly', but I have two Facebook accounts, one Google Plus account and one Pintterest account. I have been tempted many times to disconnect from all social media but.... it's supposed to be good to get attention to my website which is dog related. I just found out today that my website might actually have made some money... that was a surprise since I thought I hadn't made a cent. I will check my Paypal account tomorrow and see where the money went :)

Just after my wife and I turned 60, we had to look for an apartment. At one place were we were in an interview, the owner stepped away for a few minutes and we saw her notes. It said "elderly couple". We each looked at each other and both protested, "we're just old, not elderly." So, to this day still, we're Just Old. WE Do seem to be losing the argument lately, however.

I use to own the domain names: Oldnotelderly.com and Justoldnotelderly.com. Dropped them a couple of years back. With your imagination and talent, they might be useful.

He was an ex Marine (back when the draft could assign you to the Marines as well as the Army), a rodeo cowboy, a TV news anchor for local NBC affiliates iin El Paso and then in Corpus Christi, a local newspaper journalist, and a published author. He came in with his best asset being his personality and quickly learned the product lines extremely quickly.

The difference in the training 1 and being an affiliate or Affiliate Bootcamp is that the training is teaching you how to setup a website in a niche/area/field you like working in. Being an affiliate of Wealthy Affiliate and going through the Affiliate Bootcamp is helping others find their way here to get the training that is offered and getting paid to do that.

There is a famous quote from Mark Twain:

"If it's your job to eat a frog, it's best to do it first thing in the morning. And if it's your job to eat two frogs, it's best to eat the biggest one first."

And that just means - do your hardest task first or at least as soon as you can in the morning. If you do this then the rest of your day is easy from there!

ANYWAY…

Hello my new WA Friend! I am very new to WA and appreciate you following me. To reciprocate I am now following you! Not even sure what that means.
Here is why I am involved with WA:
I am a Wordpress/Woocomerce web site manager and developer. I have five web sites I manage and they all sell stuff. I am trying to figure out how to add an affiliate layer to three of these sites so affiliate marketers can use their sites to funnel traffic to my customers' products. If that traffic develops into sales, then the affiliate marketers get a commission. So...WA is my first volley into that world. If you have any ideas or insights into how WA can work for me or them, I am ready to take notes! In the mean time, thank you for friending me!

I am just writing the content with "some facts (along with keywords) and adding attractive pictures". Now, after this lesson I am hung up here.
You said: Brandable domain name is to be selected. I was unable to get that, when I heard about that. Now I got it with a KYLE's example...
Assuming my niche as golf club or golf.
Many people come to my website. Because the keyword golf or golf club is too broad. People generally search for those words and those words can't increase our sales.
If we use our niche as "Taylor Made r5 Driver" people who come to my website are in search of only Taylor Made r5 Driver. It's definitely slanted to a very narrow niche. People coming to my website"Taylor Made r5 Driver" are directly in DECISION PHASE. So my sale increases.
Am I right?

My Question: My Niche: Baby dresses
My website: rjdresses.com
I have created 5 pages, namely: NEWBORN
BABY BOY CLOTHES
BABY GIRL CLOTHES
SHOES
REVIEW (No content written)
These are my good target keywords. Now if I need to select a particular brand of dresses or accessories, what I need to do?
I would like to choose niche, like:
Searches Competition
Unique baby blankets 231 92
Personalized baby blankets 3741 200
Nike baby shoes 326 58
Reiker shoes for women 5195 54

PLEASE HELP ME!!! WHAT I NEED TO DO NOW?
PLEASE HELP ME TO TRAVEL IN THIS ENTREPRENEUR JOURNEY.

You said: Review keywords have very little competition and they make you high sales.
I already had a page named "REVIEW". What I need to do further in this REVIEW concept?

PLEASE HELP ME!

Hello Bo ... thank you for the follow. I too come from before computers and cell phones. In college I was one of those engineering student geeks that carried around their K&E slide rule every where they went.

Long career in high tech manufacturing exposed me to PCs of course, but I spent most of my time using Manufacturing Control software packages. Spent very little time on the internet.

So yea ... I was a digital newbie so to speak when I started here at WA. Your story is very encouraging. I enjoy your posts.

Your kiddin' they actually raced on that track.Must be bloody good sand or my eyes are shot. Looked like mud to me.I think if I took a running jump and dived I might have slid around the track and got 4th. Anyway the favourite won (good swimmer) which is good for the organisers - due to racing on that surface.
Reply
botipton Premium
No sand on that track it was packed clay. What you saw was the way it actually was. The funny part was at the end his the winnings jocky's buddy came up to congratulate him on the way to the winners circle. The guy who one was nice and clean.
he one who congratulated him was covered in mud from running back in the pack.

Moral of the story is if you want to stay clean you better lead the pack. LOL
Reply
BradBurns Premium
Yes jockeys here in Australia have the same problem on heavy tracks. If they are running in behind horses all the mud kicks up in their eyes or on the goggles and they continually wipe it from their goggles so they can see. If a horse is out in front and dictates the pace on a heavy track it is hard for others to pick up their feet and accelerate quickly.

And the guys in the back find out what covered in mud actually means.

Hi botipton,

I have a question. I can't use Grammerly because it's not iPad friendly: mobile friendly. I found a plug in Word Press called Pro Writing Aid. It tells me that it has not been tested with the current version that I'm using in Word Press. Last updated version was five years ago. Is it safe to download it?

Above this warning, someone left a comment saying they are enjoying the version, but still I'm not convinced! They are from some editorial type of institution, actually a blogger posting from Twitter. Becky

Would I download that has not been updated in five years. No.

Grammarly is compatible with iPad you just have to download the native app to use it on IPad according to Grammarly. You can find out how on the Grammarly site. Go to the help section and type in Apple in the search box.

Big race meet 14 races. Our big meetings are 10 races.
Just been looking up form and some trackwork. It appears Hence has been working well in trackwork and is nice and relaxed and won on a wet track. Not sure how wet the track is? If heavy then it could make it like a 1 1/2 mile race. That Drape fellow is tipping Tapwrit and Irish War Cry. Good luck and I am going to have a small bet on the 8.
And amazing Secretariat still holds the record since 1973 @ 1.59.24

Protect that valuable bee hive - 50 years bloody amazing.
How is the tree?
On another note, seeing it is close to Kentucky Derby time, next Saturday, I looked up a map of Kentucky and guessing you live in one of these areas (approx 1 hour out of Louisville) Either Oldham, Shelby, Spencer, Anderson, Washington, Nelson, Hardin or Meade?
How did I go close? Or perhaps the dark horse could be across the river into Indiana?
Reply
botipton Premium
You were close we live in Boyle county. We lived in Hardin county for years but just moved to Boyle county in December to be closer to kids and grandkids. The closest town to us is Perryville one of the sites of a big Civil War Battle.
Reply

The bee tree is documented being here 50 years but not sure how long it has been here. It sits about 20 feet outside my office window. This house was built in the 1850s so no telling exactly how long the bees have been here. It is a huge tree with a hollow center. Still alive and doing fairly well for it's age but full of honey.

Keep it a secret.
Trust me.
If it was here in OZ it would be raided by thieves.
Good Honey is going up in price. There is a lot of cheap syrups on the market posing as honey - HR corn syrups and glucose.

I will have to look up Perryville.

Last week I watched a 3 part series with Kevin Costner "The Hatfields and the McCoys". I believe the feud took place just after the civil war. Great series and what I read it wasn't far from the truth?
Reply

Yep it is one of the most famous feuds here in the States. It happened up in the hills southeast of where I am.

Yes honey here is the same thing. Good honey is going up in price and junk is being sold as honey.

TOOK THE WORDS RIGHT OUT OF MY MOUTH.
I think my father bought a black and white TV when I was 6 and we thought that was technology. Years later colour TV. We thought that was the end to the expansion of technology.

LOL I had one of my grandchildren ask me if I was born before they invented cars. I remember that I was 13 the first time I watched TV in my home and it was a black and white TV.

We have a couple of bee hives out in the backyard that keeps us supplied in honey and a honey tree on the place that I am still trying to figure out how to raid without harming the tree. It has had bees in it for over 50 years.

Hope to talk more.

I am involved with a Master Beekeeper here in Australia.

So many packers mixing Chinese syrups with a bit of Ozzy stuff.

He is the only one I trust and have done for 7 years.

I want to get some hives in the Upper tablelands 3 hours South West of Sydney and get some Blackgum. Waste of time putting up hives in city areas like they do on top of buildings - Pollution Pollen.

We currently get various eucalyptus varieties (ironbarks and stringybarks), white bloodwood (although its brown), and manuka
of course all in season and hopefully producing nectar.

My mate just had 52 jumbo hives knocked off out of remote bushland. Some person(s) knew what they were doing.
About $35K worth of bees and hives.

I really appreciate hearing (reading) your story. I too have been a gypsy and done many and varied things to earn a buck. Right now I'm driving a courier route, putting 236 miles a day on my Prius. As you can guess, Social Security isn't cutting it. I'm doing this to build an income stream so I can get off the road.
Are you doing only Affiliate marketing? or do you have something like a drop shipping or wholesale site as well.
Like you, I didn't grow up with a keyboard in my hands so learning is slower. However, I love to learn and think it's the only way to avoid brain decay, so I don't mind setting myself up to do this type of work for the duration. Hope the hear from you soon. Cheers

Mostly I do Network/Affiliate Marketing in different aspects but I do own a few membership sites that do fairly well. We have one site where we sell my wives work who is a beautiful artist. That is the only one that sells a physical have to ship product. I have also sold off and on Ebay for the last 13 years.

Social Security is a joke (my opinion) but there are things you can do to make more than running your courier route will pay you. PM me something if you want to talk about it.
