About Kasage00
Joined August 2016
My name is Karin, and I live in Levittown, Pennsylvania. I am a 45-year-old widow with no children. I am a former state government employee who was trapped in an office cube for 13 years doing boring and monotonous jobs. It was a very dead-end job, and although it took some work, I finally escaped (I call this "The Great Escape"). I am now an independent contractor for a health insurance company doing sales and marketing.

My passion is horseback riding. I enjoy rides in the countryside, or in the arena when horses need a "tune-up".

I also love traveling. I include horseback riding in my travel plans. I will go on an adventurous horse rides while in a foreign country - and write about it! Travel writing is going to be one of my other additional incomes. Now that I am working remotely, I can travel more.

I have a house cat named Freddie. He was once a stray. He was found with a badly injured left leg and was taken to the Trenton Cat Rescue for surgery. The surgery went well and he can run around. Although he has a permanent limp, it does not stop him from being active! In addition, I take care of a small feral cat colony outside my home. I trap, neuter and release the cats to help prevent feral cat overpopulation.

I also have the hobby of fishkeeping. I have two 30-gallon freshwater fish tanks. They keep Freddie entertained! I keep different species of fish in each tank.

I run two Shopify stores. One is baking ingredients and supplies. Baking is another of one my passions. The other, related to my passion of horses, is horse and equestrian designed t-shirts.

I hope for WA to be a success so affiliate/internet marketing can become another successful source of income!

Hi Karin,
Seen you and your horse around the community and didn't come till know to have a look at your profile.I thought it was a guy. I love them but guys and there horses are a whole different world. I know, been there. In Costa Rica women are pampered, they think women are fragile. They got a big kick out of me riding and wanting to take care of the horses. Things have changed since. Know a lot of my nieces have there own and throe breads to boot, I guess that love rubbed of on them a bit.
Horses and dogs are my favourite animals.
Have a great week end,
sending blessings your way,
always a better way.

Hi Linda

Maybe I should have a profile pic without my helmet on LOL! I thought my hair showed enough to show I'm female.

Not so, just my own perception. I didn't look close enough LOL! it was only when I came to you profile and seen the bigger picture. The small picture that goes to comments is all I seen, and Kasage00 didn't help (male or female?)
WOW! I really like the picture with the river in the Back ground. Know that really shows you off.

always a better way

Hi, Karin...

It sounds like you have been able to leverage your love for travel into that book! That is a really cool thing...

One of our e-Commerce stores focuses on gifts, mementos, and souvenirs from Germany.

My business partner and I are both wanderers, have been for years...

Our adventures have crossed many countries in the EU, Asia and the Middle East and even extend to dangerous places like Iraq and Afghanistan...

It is our love for travel that we have harnessed into our current venture....

If you would like to do a guest post at some point on your travels let me know, and you can plug your book at the same time...

The store focuses on Germany, but over time we will be adding in other stores...The next one is going to focus on Thailand, where my partner's wife is from...

Cheers!

thanks, and yes I used some of my own travel experienced in connection with the book. There is one part where I mention the Kaethe Wohlfahrt shop and Christmas Village. I saw the real thing in Germany a few times, and the one in Philadelphia.

What kind of souviners from Germany are you selling? If I saw them, I bet I can recognize them.

Since "the great escape" from my horrible office job, I am working on traveling more. I have seen Europe many times, and now I am working on Mexico and central/south america next. My trip to Mexico is coming up on October, and next winter, if I can swing it is live in Ecuador for a month and write an article to International Living.

I've had that love for travel for a long time but my travels were very limited due to my office job.

It's becoming quite a change from being imprisoned in an office cube for 13 years, and now becoming a "digital nomad". In my mind I still feel that need to request time off from work (there was one year when I took a vacation, and two weeks before the trip the boss asks me "is there any way you can cancel?" oh god..but of course I said no) . I still have visions of a boss watching over me. Those will go away over time.

You you can check out my travel blog (kbauerstravels.com) any time and leave a comment. I have a few trips this summer which I will add to the blog. I would like to do a guest post on your blog, too.

Wow - exciting stuff Karin...

Our items are a mix of traditional German items (not Christmas) like mugs, shot glasses, suspenders, traditional German 'gaudi' (party) hats, stickers, and t-shirts, party-gag items, etc.

We also have the Bavarian porcelain decorative dish sets and other items that are special to that region of Germany. We are also adding in a couple of other very popular niche items (think what is the most popular drink in Germany)...

Our warehouse is located outside of Munich, so it was natural for us that we add items made by locals in the area...There are a ton of other interesting items from other parts of Germany that we will add over time...

Another feature that we are adding to that store is cross-selling between store sites. Initially, the 'cross sell' will be items from our own stores (i.e. we are completing a Thai focused coconut shop as I write this)...

Over time, the intent is to bring in more partner stores and feature their items as well...We will all grow the business helping each other...I am building a membership site that will help with this...

It will have aspects of what Wealthy Affiliate has, i.e. training and the forum aspects, but also add in drop shipping and affiliate support features...

This will be a free membership site, and the cost to members would come in from some paid training that will be offered, plus partnership with us, paying for affiliate sales, marketing, etc...

We are quite far into development of the site and it is coming together nicely...A lot of work, but the intent is to have a useful site that, like Wealthy Affiliate, will help people get started with online business - in this case, e-commerce, at a reasonable cost...

Going back to the store for German items, we are also doing blog posts about travel in general and of course specific to Germany...Early stages, but the domain itself is 11 years old, and it is already building in authority...

This is why a guest blog post from you would help both of us...Getting some additional views for your book (we would add a feature box with an image and short blurb on the book) can't hurt...

The intent is to keep growing these stores ourselves, but also help others get started selling regional specific items that are in demand by buyers...

Our system will help partners get up quickly stood up with their e-commerce business and making money, plus will help them managing the business easier (there are other elements/modules such as bookkeeping, warehouse management, etc.)

Organic traffic is important to us and this is where the blogs come in...There is a big interest in travel and bloggers who tell the tale of their travels (along with images, video, etc.) in an entertaining manner...

Ooof, sorry so long, but if you really are interested, we would gladly give you the venue and latitude to write a blog for us...If possible something related to your German travel....

Also if you want to write up a short blurb on the book, include an image of the book, and of course an image of yourself, we can put this together...

I look forward to it!

Cheers!

Thank you for the follow back! It's great to meet a fellow horse enthusiast and it sounds like you're quite busy too with other animals...sounds a lot like our house has been in the past, but at the moment only three dogs, which is unusual for us.

Best wishes in all you do : ) ~Sherry

Hi Kasage, thanks for the follow back, you sound just like me, to many things to do and also keep a home zoo. Me, 3 cats - Killies the gray stripe oldest boy, Lady - a girl from the spca with lots of problems, but she starts to settle down now after 2 years, and then my baby - Snoetjiies, ginger kid, then Iti, my oldest daughter a Yorkie and 5 tortoises, and birds.

And any other homeless 4leg children end up at my house. Have a wonderful week.

Hello Karin. We have some common interests. I grew up on a farm riding horses as far back as I can remember. I have a cat I adopted him and his brother. Unfortunately his brother passed away. Now he, Bobby, gets to chase the turtles. I have a passion to become a writer. I organize a writing group in my home town. It's nice to meet you. Best of luck

Greetings Karin!

I would see your picture often, when leaving comments, so I decided to follow you! Some of my fondest childhood memories are of vacations at various resorts in Pennsylvania; my sister and I would often get up early to go horseback riding, while my parents slept. Absolutely love horses!

Hope to be a part of your network!

I'm looking at your baking website and considering the pound cake mix. However, I'm not sure whether the mix is totally complete and just add water? (Actually, that's what it says, so maybe that's a stupid question. lol). Anyway, you mention coffee shops and restaurants, but you can also make it at home, right? Does it require a special kind of pan?
Reply
kasage00 Premium
you just add water, and that's it! generally, it's 8 oz. of water for every 1 lb. of mix.

Yes, my baked goods are made at home. I do not sell any. Because this product comes in a large size, it is often used in bakeries and restaurants.

No special pan, just the ones you have in your kitchen :)

Okay. So can I use a loaf pan or a 14 x 9 x rectangular pan? And have you tried it before and is it any good?
Reply
kasage00 Premium
I have made the chocolate one and it was pretty good. i haven't tried the pound cake. You could use either size pan.

Okay. I'll try the pound cake, don't really care for chocolate cake as much.

We seem to have a few things in common, age, travelling and riding, except that I only use to ride donkey.

My next website is going to be traveling, the first step is to go a few small resort firstly, in my locality, spend a three days here and there and do my writings.

And I agree with your comments, on ChristScott post my internet friends are so real and attached.

Karin, I see you are making some good progress through the Affiliate Bootcamp. Just wanted to pop by and see if you need a hand with anything?

I also wanted to mention the success rates of Bootcamp. Absolutely everyone that has taken action on all of the phases of Bootcamp has a business that is generating consistent income online. MANY of these folks are going to be at our super affiliate conference next year.

I want this to be you and I want you to succeed with your promotions. So, please promise me that if you ever need a hand or feel stuck as you move forward, that you will get in touch with me!

Trust me, I know things can be a little overwhelming sometimes and I don't want you feeling like that.

Anyways, just checking in. Get back at me if you need anything Karin.

Welcome to our world of wonder and magic Karin. Congratulations on being a Premium Member, it was a sage move.

Your possibilities in WA are unlimited. But instead of following the yellow brick road, I highly recommend that you follow the Green "Get Started Here" tab and stick with it to the end. I believe it to be the best instructional program on the web, and I have researched this medium for five years.

Wishing you all the best and again a warm welcome!

I hope things are going well. I know you are getting rolling within the training and there is ONE thing that always tends to confuse people and that is "what is my niche?".

I know, same thing happened to me when I started.

I just wanted to reach out and let you know that I am here if you ever want to run any niche "ideas" by me or you have any questions about finding your niche.

Get back to me when you get the chance! :)

P.S. If you get a chance check out how the training helped me to build my websites. My latest one on how to boost your retirement income just went live a month ago and the one on sleep apnea has been up for almost four months now. You can find the links on my profile page. Hey Karin, just wanted to pop back and see how you are doing. I noticed that you haven't quite set-up your account yet, just wanted to let you know there is a video on how to do this if there is any confusion. Setting up your account will lead to much better help here within the community as people feel like they can connect with you better (with an image and a description)

Just wanted to make sure that all was good and if you do need a hand with anything, just let me know! :)
