Is Bing And Yahoo Better Than Google, What Are Your Thoughts

I have thrown this question into the mix today as I am just curious about what your thoughts are and what do you prefer.

I know that Google is the one that we really want to be on Page 1 of but is it not a good thing to be on page one of them all if possible?

The reason I am asking this is because the last two posts I have created for the SWAG challenge, when I check the site rank on both here are the results that I got.

So here as you can see, I am on Position One, Page One on both Bing and Yahoo for both posts but I am nowhere to be seen on Google. It always amazes me that this can happen and makes me wonder why Google is not like Bing and Yahoo. I would have thought they should all be the same but apparently not.

So if anyone or someone would be kind enough to explain this but without confusing me any further (i.e. like an idiots guide sort of way), I would be delighted and appreciate it muchly.

Wednesday again folks, enjoy the rest of the week and have a good day.

This has been puzzling to me too Cheryl. It seems so strange that certain pages are ranked page 1 on google and not at all by Bing and/or Yahoo - as well as the the there way around.

Erica

This will depend on your niche and the desire.

Do people talk about these problems in open forums? Or do they search for it privately?

Do they know there is a solution but can't find it? Or are they just curious about what a person could do to find some answer?

I was reading a post that split niches by social media 50% and Search engines 50%. You would be amazed how many people's niches aren't that great in one but are brilliant in the other.

That leads me to believe that you need to look for patterns with your niches to see what device they search with and where they go to figure things out the most.

Ask yourself who would use Yahoo?
Who uses Bing?
Google is the one everyone knows about but is it really the best for your niche?

Ask your audience what they use and for how long.

Find out what each area of the country you target prefers which devices.

Eric

Thank you for all this Eric and I most certainly will have a good look at these points you have listed. Every little bit help is always good thanks, xxxx

The more traffic you have, the more of a leveler you have with Bing and Yahoo!

Thanks Mike, I think that I have not been doing as well as I thought I was lol. xxxx

I agree with Calvin also, money talks

I think the same. Thanks for your comment EandS.. xxx

Hi Cheryl,

I think that there are many factors at play the biggest is of course the big almighty dollar.

Bing and Yahoo are both by products of corporations providing services to members Bing from Microsoft and Yahoo now from Version.

On the other hand Google Search is owned and operated by Google so that means they are dependent on their own source of income to sustain themselves. I feel because of this difference Google's algorithms are greatly influenced by their advertisers.

If you place paid advertisement with Google ads it seems that your rankings will improve slightly. After spending thousands of dollars on clicks per month when I first started my original website I spent thousand of dollars the first year in ads alone.

It was not until I went from sending $100 the first 2 months to $1,000 the 3rd month did I see a major difference in my rankings - jumped 2 pages in 3 days after changing ad budget. The same applied when I dropped Google paid ads and no longer placed ads with them my ranking had drop a full page 2 days afterwards.

Google denies this completely but I know many other individuals that have seen the same types of changes in their rankings when adding or removing paid advertisements with Google.

But when you are the leader you can pretty much make your own rules and as long as no one from Google every admits to their secret it will remain that; their secret.

Don't tell Google, LOL

But that's my opinion,

Calvin

Thanks for that Calvin and I would agree with you in that at the end of the day it all comes down to money. Or more likely to be greed yet they know people will pay it.

I have paid for ads too but have worked out how to keep the cost low apart from the first one which was about $95. I learnt quickly after that one.

Don't worry though, I won't tell Google so you are ok. xxx

Very interesting. Thanks.

Not sure better is the right word, but certainly their search terms are more cheaper than Googles

Thank you Dave, it just always makes me wonder about it all. Not very bright on that stuff lol. xxx

I also have posts that are on page 1 of Yahoo and Bing but not on Google page 1 since free version of Jaaxy only shows page 1. Since Google is the most used search engine, considering the competion, it is really awesome if you can rank on the first page. I think this is the reason why we are being taught to target Google page 1.

Hi, thank you and it is rather annoying that it only covers page 1 but what else can we do when it's free. If we want more than that then we have to upgrade. xxxx

I think with google being a more widely used search engine they probably have a lot more content indexed in their site daily, which makes it harder to rank up in google than it would be to get into yahoo and bing.
You’re still doing great though by covering all avenues! Congrats!
Louise :)

Great insight Cheryl.
Congratulation!

While Yahoo and Bing are 2 giant browsing engines, Google is still the play maker.

Let see what's their 'market share' of search engines.

Google : 64%
Yahoo + Bing : 33.1%
Others : the balance

We still need to work how to get into Google.
