I need to change my domain name to something new. To many websites by the old name and can't find mine. Can I change it and transfer all of my files to the new one.
Hi Connie, I think you are making a good decision to keep your domain name unchanged for the time being. As other have said you certainly can change it but it really is not something that most people would recommend doing.

No, not if you use the WA move function, which sets up all the redirects from the old domain to the new one.
I transferred my 3 siterubix websites to 3 owned domain names, and the trust 100% went to 0% after I did that. Did I miss something?
Ah, no, WA's Site Trust is just a time metric, it automatically goes up 10% a month regardless.
I assumed it had a connection with the Google site trust, but it's only a WA indication? Nothing to do with Google?
Search engines prefer established sites over new ones, with about a year being a good amount of time. SiteTrust is just counting up that year in 10% intervals every month. :)
I don't think you will lose a whole lot when you chose to transfer your content to a new domain name when the site is one month old. $14 cash.
You can use a plugin to transfer your content when you decide to make the change.
It a little time consuming and it will cost you $$$. Your URL is what's important and you SEO for how high you are ranked.
Hello , you will find your website on google top pages over time. It all depends on your content and Seo. Domain name doe not matter much, it does not even have to be totally related to your niche.
It just has to be simple, easy to remember, type and read.
You can change domain name, but you will have to pay and buy a new domain name and then transfer the old domain name to a new one.
My suggestion, stick with your domain name.....and work on your content
My problem is my website name is advanced internet business and there are a lot of them out there that's close to the same name.
That is such a good name. Why do you want to change that ? It does not matter how many other similar domain names are there. Its not your domain name that ranks on google, its your blog posts which contains good keywords that rank well.
It is in fact nice that there are similar domain names, i think you will receive more traffic as time move along.
Stick with it
Thank you for the help. I can't find it is why I was thanking about it. It was rank in google but when I put the website in, It does not come up.
