Hey guys, been awhile. I'm trying to create a blockquote for my website.

I have a specific design but can't figure out the html to create my

quote. The example of

You have probably figured this out but this might help others.

I use a quote mark only when quoting from a cited source.
Otherwise I use content boxes. Google sees quotes as duplicate content and mostly ignores it in search results.

If the content is your own info that you want to highlight, it is better to place the words in a container or content-box. The search engine will know it's not a quote and be more likely to rank keywords from that section.

I added a new div class for the content box because my theme does not have this option. The code needs to specify the container background color, and also the border color and its width. I use different colored content boxes as you will see listed in the screenshots.

Your theme might need a different code style to achieve the same effect but you will get the idea. You can google "content box codes for WordPress" to learn more. That's how I found out what to do. ~Jude

Excellent point and advice Jude, you are so right!

Originally, blockquotes were being used for both purposes, but I do see that now this code is to only be used for actual quotes. Thank YOU for bringing this to our attention.

Another great reason to be a member at WA... Yeaaaaah!

Hey Brandon,

Perhaps the following video will help you: Hope you find this helpful.

Try this
https://www.w3schools.com/w3css/w3css_borders.asp

you could add this to your site css and use it to style your quote -
https://css-tricks.com/snippets/css/simple-and-nice-blockquote-styling/
i am sure there is a plugin to do it if you want it easier.
good luck

don't like the fact they are using one keyword for 5 articles - google will only rank the best one and the others will be dropped - competing against yourself not good.

skip all that - if you are using the gutenberg editor just add a quote block and change the colour of the line

Ya the quote isn't important, currently writing a review about them. But thanks for the tips. I'll check out it out. I'd rather write the coding to avoid plugins if i can. But plugins are an option as well. Just not my first choice.
Thanks
Brandon

I already know how to block single static IPs, so this is not an issue. But what about if your IP address is constantly changing? Is there a way to block tracking from specific

I appreciate the solution of the opt out plugin, However that blocks other websites from tracking me too. I am only trying to block myself from my own personal website not others I browse.

Also:

There is an app to add to your browser's toolbar!

Here you go, It has an icon for your toolbar.

If I write an article say I call it" 3 easy ways to lose weight", publish it,
and then rewrite the article and sentences just using synonyms throughout to make it look diffe

There is no duplicate content issue, and it never existed, this is just another myth. People do not listen to what Google has to say. Duplicated texts can be ranked but the ranking will be low unless there is an extra quality and info added.

So most likely you will be ranked with both texts, though you would have too much overlapping as you describe it, but this is competing with yourself and this is not the best way.

See more in my training here, all statements are directly from Google's representatives, nothing interpreted.

Thanks for the answers. And don't worry I don't spin articles, Never have. Just needed info for a product review

People have been spinning articles for a long time, and they always get into trouble for it. Similar content can get flagged by Google as duplicate content.

It's not worth the risk, because if Google catches on, and they always do, you will have a hard time getting any websites ranked.

Just focus on writing original content pages and posts that you will use once. It will pay off in the end.

Could the first and second article potentially both end up on the first page of Google?

Hey Brandon,

Spinning articles are considered low quality content. Sure, you can do this if you wish, however if you want to rank high in search engines for your niche then using quality, unique content is the key.

Hope this helps you.

Yes they can but it is unlikely if there is so much overlapping. But you will be competing with yourself.

My website in is written in English, but I received a comment in Spanish. If the comment is still relevant would you approve and reply in spanish? Or delete since the language

Thanks guys for the input. I'll be responding to the comment in their language, which was what I figured but was curious about other people's opinions.

!Por supuesto que lo apruebas! ?Por que' no?

Espero que me respondas en espanol. ~ encima el n

I had such a case, translated, and replied in the same language as best as I could.

Just approve it .. why not? My thinking is that in the reply I would also put the translation. Cheers, William.

You can use Google translate to give you an idea what the comment says.

https://translate.google.com/

That doesn't answer my question. I already said the comment is relevant

You can also use google translate to respond to their comment.

still doesn't answer my question. Would you respond and approve the comment even though it's in a different language than the rest of the website?

I answered your question, but here are my two cents worth.

There are all walks of life that will come to your website and if someone writes a comment in their language there's a good chance they aren't very good at writing English there comment is just as good as anyone's who writes in English!

Google translate gives us tools to read other languages and write in other languages, and if you don't feel comfortable replying in another language then reply in English. But, Out of common curtesy to that user it would only be appropriate to reply to that user in his or her language to save any confusion to accommodate that user.

Another thing you can do is reply in his or her language and under neath you can have it in English for all to see your reply.
