Hello WA members can someone please put me right.

I understand that US government documents are in the public domain, I have found a PDF file for the USDA, there is an im

I think I came across in Kyle's training about how to legally use images. He says that you can use snipping tool to copy a portion of the image and not the exact image. Sorry can't remember the link.

Most documents like that has copyright clause somewhere in the documents. I would not try my luck.

Copyright on us documents can I use them?

Hello I have tried to put 2 Amazon native ads on the same post, when I go to view the post there in only one showing up on my page.

At first I was using the same code twi

I believe if it's going to show the same products, only one will show. Try to have one under the main category and the other one under sub-categories i.e. related products or accessories and see if it make a difference.

Today I went through lesson 9 in Mastering Social Engagement at the end of the lesson I followed the instructions and posted my WA affiliate link in Pinterest, FaceBook, Twitte

Yes, Pinterest and G+ don't like affiliate links. Simply share your own content on these networks, I would avoid using affiliate links.

Thanks for the post Bill

You cannot share your affiliate links with these platform. I once did but it was flagged as spam by Google+ and not allowed by Pinterest. Even Facebook do not like affiliate links directly posting on your posts. Just like Kyle said, it is better if you incorporate them in your site, then post that Url instead. Another way to post in Google+ is to post your affiliate link first in your Facebook page, copy the post link, then post that link in Google +.

Pleased that Dave has such a helpful answer.

As OMOT says and I can confirm, I have had the same issues with Pinterest and Google+

I got round Pinterest, by having my website on my profile and posting other images to my boards there, such as footy and vinatge clothing for women

Google+... I simply write reviews and post them, with no hassle, once I had worked out that my WA posts could be seen as pure Spam

Facebook I don't go near

Twitter I do and get followers there, but the other two places I Focus on are

Linkedin, I 've been there since the start and YouTube.

Hope this helps

That is very informative, thanks, Dave

Yes, both of those entities hate WA links, the way around it is to always send people to your website where your affiliate link is obvious. Your website shouldn't be marked as spam, and from there your visitor can find your link.

I haven't tried it myself Bill, but I have read recently here on WA that G+ and Pinterest are indeed doing this.

I have created a blog post and put a Youtube video into it, but I can't publish it and I am not getting an error message.

If has anything to do with the video is it becau

you need to click on the share button on youtube first , then click on embedd then copy the code in the iframe to iframe then you put that in your article and you can adjust the size of the video when it place, that would be the best way to share a youtube video. If you have copied as just a web address and it does not show??..is that correct??..what do you mean when you say I can't publish it??. you can't publish the article??... is that what you are saying or you can't see the youtube video??

This issue has been resolved, it was a WA blog post and you can't put YouTube videos into them

Could be the you tube video.

Most likely the issue is related to the youtube video. It seems as if you have already been working on this issue. I sorry, but I don't think I can provide you with much more help than you have already been given.

Per Kyle's comment below, you cannot add YouTube videos to WA blogs.

I had to close the post down and open the draft copy, it the let me post it but it striped the video out.

The only way I have found round is to add a text link.

This is the post

My apologies, I assumed this was a post for your site and not internal to WA. I'm not sure if you can embed a video here or not....I'll have to look into it. At least your video link is showing and I did click it to verify it took me to your video.

Some You Tube videos will not play on other sites. Try copying the share link. If that does not work, then copy the embed code. Either one of them should work. Insert them into your page at the point you want to display the video.

Per Kyle's comment below, you cannot add YouTube videos to WA blogs.

I've embedded 3 YouTube videos so far without issue. I have a couple of questions:
1) on your YouTube site for the video you want to share on your site, under advanced settings do you have the allow embedding box checked?
2) Are you using the embed link and pasting that into the code of your post?

No, I have just copied the link to the video from Youtube thinking it would put the link into the post for people to click on.

I am not sharing on my site I am trying to share it here in WA

OK..you need to make it sharable so you can share it at WA and copy the embed code to paste into the text tab of your post on your site dashboard. Once you do those 2 things it should work for you. You can see my 2 posts with my YouTube videos embedded if you'd like. Well once the server is back up that is. Just go to my URL and look at my post on performing a firmware update and launching from a boat. You can find my URL in my profile.

Per Kyle's comment below, you cannot add YouTube videos to WA blogs.

Good to know :)

What is the error message you are getting? Are you publishing directly through your Wordpress back office, or here within WA?

Also, what is your website URL? Let me know and I will be happy to give you some direction here Bill. :)

I am not getting an error message, it is a WA blog post.

The Benefit of Being Social at WA this is were I am with the training and it says to create a WA post so I have and added a short video, when I click post nothing happens.

I didn't think we could embed YouTube into our WA blogs, only our sites, I'll be interested to see the response to this.

Yeah, you cannot add Youtube videos to blog posts here. We do this to prevent spam within the community.
