Scaling back from WA
Hi All
Will keep this simple and short
I have decided to scale back my activity here in WA.
Don;t worry I am not giving up and anything like that no way that is going to happen.
I will still reply to those that follow and PM but won't be as active as I have been.
I have noticed too much negativity here of late and don't want to be a part of it.
WA is an awesome Place to be not only to learn but to interact with fellow members however lately I have been seen especially in Live Chat to much Ego and negative attitidue between Members.
Does not give me a good feeling besides I want to focus more on other issues in life along with my website.
So I may pop in here and there and I may be in the backgroud if required but not interacting that much.
Wishing you all well and please agree to differ if need be and put your own Ego's aside and just help where you can in the community and focus on your websites

I'm still going to chat with you even when you not here my friend :) and I too, have been feeling all of what you have been feeling...its not only live chat, sometimes I wonder, if I should keep bringing my family here, if it keeps going that way...being here was the best thing for me, when I started...you and a few others here I know have been there for me from the beginning and it is sad to see some of you, in my eyes being targeted...anyway friendship goes beyond any boundaries...:)
Will always be here for you and Victory no doubt about that just PM me if either one of you need.
We Aussie's need to keep the Kiwi's in check anyway hehehe

Yes very much so all kidding and the usual banter we have with each other when it counts we are there shoulder to shoulder together as it should be.

I totally agree with you Andre and that's why I don't go on Live Chat much these days.
I take it you saw all the Cursing that was going back and forth a couple of days ago.
Totally uncalled for.
Also there does seem to be a fair bit of negativity creeping in and that should be stamped on Hard.

Glad I didn't see that, but I saw the blog by Louise and knew something happened while I was away, not a good look at all. I used to love live chat, because it was like the one place I could get a quick "hi" and help.

Especially from a new member who also has 6 starter accounts going on.
Hopefully, they have been dealt with but I just looked and the accounts are still there that is just one thing WA needs to address.
Overall I love seeing the help many give not just in the comments but in live chate but agree you there has been an increase in negativity over the last few months.
wishing you well and know you are doing the right thing not just by WA but in your personal values as well and I appreciated that too.

Hi there and hope your Saturday is going well.
Yes there was a fair bit of cursing going back and forth, especially between two in particular.
The words white supremacy were mentioned a few times as well.
I will still go on Live Chat as and when I have the time and know the answer to a particular question but much better to spend my time on why I am here and that is to create and run a home business.

Andre, you are the second one I have seen mention negativity on WA today. This is really sad because I find WA such a positive environment to work within. But I rarely use Chat so perhaps that is why it has not been so evident to me.
I wish you all the best for the other priorities in your life and we will look forward to hearing how you are going down the track
Thanks perhaps I am the second to actually say it not just think it. However WA is an awesome place to be regardless of these minor aspects which you will get in many other places. But as I said I still have a lot of other things to do that is more important to progress further in life along with my website I will still be around just not as active as before.

I hope you're doing well, I'm sorry that you have received negativity here, but I also understand what you are saying. I don't actually spend much time in live chat so I have not actually experienced the negativity.
As you mention, Wealthy Affiliate is a great place to be and to learn about Internet marketing, the training really does work. I have been working online for 12 years and also have an off-line business. One thing I know for sure is that the training here is fantastic and it works!
I have also taken a step back from Wealthy Affiliate, purely because it's a busy time of year for me and trying to run a few websites and an off-line business and reply to comments from Wealthy Affiliate can become too much at times.
However, once again, Wealthy Affiliate is a fantastic place to hang out and I will still be commenting and reading blog posts. But just for the moment, I have to focus on my off-line business and online business.

I'm glad that the negativity wasn't aimed at you Andre, it's a shame when people talk negatively, in fact, it is not good at all! Wealthy Affiliate really is a great opportunity.
When I was at Bible school the Principal always told us to run from negative people and this is something that I do! In fact, I run as fast as I can! So I understand 100% what you are saying.
I also feel Andre that you have huge amounts to offer others so I hope you will still be around a bit.

I do believe that sitting behind a keyboard has made some people nastier. They find it so easy to say things anonymously they would never say in person. I run a FB group on my own, and it's a wonderful caring group, some say the best on FB. Having said that I have had to deal with incredible abuse directed at me which has shaken me at times. I delete and block these people and literally need time to calm down. Nastiness here or anywhere should never be tolerated, and members spoken to and kicked out if they don't stop. A few should never be allowed to ruin the experience of so many.
You are part of the 'Force' now Andre...or should I say Obi Wan.
I get it. I've not been here long enough to know whether the current occurences are an upscaling or just a natural shift that will subside.
My take on any of it is that a fire needs more than one component to make it burn...if we don't add fuel to it then it just fizzles out...easier said than done when the hackles are up I guess. I try and get the point across to the children, why give someone the power to make you feel angry, sad and upset.

I can totally relate Andre. I am not as active in the community as I used to be. That is because I am making money from what I have learned here at WA and do not have the time.
Seeing how I have not been here as much lately, I have not noticed this negativity you speak of. But if I do see it I am the type of person that may knock them off their ego perch. LOL
But that was the old Robert. Old habits die hard. The new Robert would just not get involved, just as you are doing. For it is better to let the ego strokers live their narrow lives.
They will get what is coming to them eventually. Remember this wise quote, "And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be humbled; and whosoever shall humble himself shall be exalted."

Always looked up to you when I first came here and still do and if you remember was the one that took you off the number 3 spot then but although it was a huge boost at the time I found out then ranking is not all that it is cracked up to be.
Yes the ego strokers lets just say Karma bites back when they least expect it and hopefully they will learn from that and move forward the proper way.

Yes I remember when I was Ambassador Rank 3 for almost an entire year until "someone nice" took it from me. :)
But as you know rank doesn't mean much once you reach the top. Rankings in WA go up and down all the time.

I never said I was going just scaling back there is a big difference plus if you read the post I also mention I have other things to deal with along with spending more time on my websites. Been here for 5 years and intend to be here longer than that as well

Thanks Robert I wasn't planning it at the time but as I got closer I thought why not give it a go.
At that time I felt ranking was important then I grew up and yes rank doesn't mean much.
No indication of how successful you are and as you know you can keep on blogging here and help a bit and your ranking will increase.
No biggie no real benefit for oneself except knowing that your rank will increase due to helping others those that gain ranking for the status and there are many as you know will soon find out their true worth
Anyone helping and supporting others are the real ambassadors regardless of the number beside your name.

We both know we are here for the long haul and we originally came here to be successful with building our website and that is what the focus should be on.
Helping others is a bonus but we need to focus on ourselves first the rest will follow.

Andre, your post is the second one I've read this evening about unpleasantness in Live Chat.
It is shocking and unfair for members to use Live Chat to express their anger, or whatever it is that's going on.
This is a place where not only do we welcome new members. but we encourage people to become members of WA.
I feel that those who are abusing this program, through whatever platform, need to be removed as we don't need them here.
I am sorry to know that we won't be seeing you so often, but please don't go too far away.

Thanks Val it would be good if they either drop it and continue moving on or if they need to vent do it privately within a PM so new members don't see their negative actions as it does affect WA on a whole.
There are always competitors to WA who join just to disrupt or check out what is happening this just gives them more fuel for their benefit.
