So, I found a long tail keyword I really like on Jaaxy. 4.5k monthly searches and 115 QSR. I decided to look up the same keyword on Keyword Planner and found that Google's numbe

I know this was 2 years ago but did anyone get to the bottom of which is correct ?

Sorry should have searched first, found it now.

I am having a similar problem, only I'm experiencing discrepancies between WA keyword tool, Jaaxy and google...

My search phrase "find keywords for your website"

Google search says it's 143,000,000 results
WA keyword tool: monthly searches 24 / QSR 75
Jaaxy: monthly seraches 112 / QSR 68

I'm so confused!!

Not sure if this will help or not.

If you go to google to check the QSR for : find keywords for your website
it 76 http://d.pr/i/u4vA and you find this the manual by searching the phrase in quotes, scrolling down and trying to find the last result, you'll notice you can't get past page 8 of the results.

In regards to monthly searches, the free Google keyword planner says it gets about 10 monthly searches http://d.pr/i/qxGt

I just did your keyword search on the keyword tool on WA and got 4575 searches and 115 QSR. Are you sure you were looking at the right numbers?

The keyword:
buy windows 7
Also gets the same amount of searches 4575 according to the WA tool, this is why I like to use Planner.

This is what I mean. WA and Jaaxy show 4575. But Keyword Planner shows 210. Why is there a discrepancy?

I've always kind of wondered about this... the difference in numbers...

I would go with Google's numbers especially with such a big difference in search volume.

Does the phrase make sense?

Yes, in fact the phrase is: "How to buy Windows 7" I feel like that would be a fairly popular search term. Surely more searches than 210 a month?

I see an Avg 410 for that phrase, but I personally wouldn't expect it to be a high search term, it just doesn't sound like a phrase that a large amount would search for in my opinion.

I have an article posted on SA, but it isn't really getting any traffic anymore. I would like to move this article to my site as I believe it would be very beneficial to my nich

You shouldn't delete it. As Rick has said it's not a good idea. Just use that article to write something in a similar vein (but with a different slant) for your site. I have hundreds of articles that no longer have traffic - but I use them as the background for writing something different.

I must admit I hate the thought of putting a lot of effort into something that wont live on my site - but I also realise that SA can be very handy for putting the site on the map, so it's a bit of a compromise i guess.

Was basically gonna repeat what Rick said. So, listen to him man!

I would advise against it. While you may delete it at SA the search engines will still see it as duplicate content. Why not take the main theme from the article and re-write something totally fresh for your site? Even grab a few phrases and build off of those?

Question is posed to member who is no longer active.

I'd love to know the answer to this too.

It may be a good idea to tweak the article as mentioned below to increase the hits on SA and/or you could re-write the article using unique content and publish it on your site. Then you'd have the best of both worlds.

Some helpful info:

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/bis/blog/don-t-miss-opportunities-to-reuse-your-content

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/leoemery/blog/how-to-creat-compelling-content

Maybe tweaking the article will best, instead of reusing it:)

So, most of the articles on my site are wrapping up at upwards of 1000-1200 words. There's just a lot to say on the topic.

I'm worried that these posts are too long, and r

Very impressive. My comments would echo Beverley's (BIS) but I'd add that it might help if your front page showed short excerpts of each post rather than the whole post.

Because your posts are relatively long, it takes a bit of scrolling to get to the older ones. In edit mode you can put a split in each post wherever you want to by placing your cursor at the point you want to make the cut, let's say after the first paragraph, and clicking the icon that seems to illustrate a page break. This will allow you to only publish the first paragraph on the home page. Do this for all posts and you'll get three or four visible on the front page and they'll look less daunting.

The length of your posts and pages reminds me of mine. So no I don't think they are too long. As long as you write quality content I don't think anyone will complain. I haven't had any complaints. I have actually had a lot of good comments.

Thanks for the feedback! It's hard to gauge the quality of my content at the moment since I don't have a lot of readers (and not really any commenters yet)

I don't think they are.
I just reviewed your What is Computer Ram article.Personally, PC building is not something I am highly interested in, but the article was set up nicely so that skimming was made easy. You want your traffic to be able to skim an article of yours, making it easier for them to find the content they are looking for. You also want to have all the relevant information in the article so your reader isn't left missing something.
Looks good :)

Honestly, I haven't wrote an article under 1200 words. It's common when writing reviews as you want to be thorough and precise. If your first few paragraphs are informative and what the reader was expecting to see, then they will continue on reading. Also 1200 words sounds like a lot, but on a browser it's not that lengthy.

I couldn't answer that question without seeing some of your articles - because it's not the length that is most important -it's the quality of the content. if you're writing 1000 words that could easily be condensed to 700 words then yes - your articles are too long. If you post your link - then people can tell you what they think.

Yes some readers will be put off by the length - but if you have used images, captions, subheadings, bullet points and short paragraphs and the content is good you will hold people's attention.

I would certainly have some articles that were of a shorter length - so not all your articles are that length.

Only split your articles if you're actually trying to include more than one topic in a post.

Ok, some feedback would be quite welcome!

They are mostly introduction posts to different PC concepts. So I don't think prior technical knowledge would be necessary for good feedback on the content.
I want my articles to be accessible to beginners and experts alike.

Thanks for your (and anyone else's) input on this matter :)

Andrew - your site is very impressive. You clearly have knowledge and passion for the topic and write well.

You wanted to know whether your articles were too long. I don't think think most of them are. You are occasionally a bit wordy - but cutting that out comes with practice. I like the recap that you do at the end of each article - that's helpful.

There are 2 things that I would have issue with.
1. Although you use subheadings and short paragraphs - some of the areas are still very dense in text and not easy to skim read. I would really try and use bullets points occasionally in the main text and not just the end and I would use more subheadings in places.
2. The second issue - is that although you want it to be for all levels - I personally think you're articles are far too complicated for most beginners, would need to be simplified and would need more images added. (That's just my view and others may well disagree).

Not sure - how helpful that is.

Beverley

Thanks for your help, Beverley. This will be really helpful. I'm not sure how to simplify my content more. But that's something I'll just have to work on I suppose. Thanks again!

What is the recommended social media plugin for WP for allowing Likes, Pins, +1's, etc? I've tried a couple and they seem to really slow down my site.

Hi - it's called "sociable" - if you type that into the plugins search, it's the first one that comes up. Cheers, Mark

Hey Andrew. I strongly recommend you follow the training step-by-step. Social engagement and the relevant tools are discussed in Level Four of Certification and Level Three of Bootcamp. It's been my experience that the people I've seen #fail to either learn or earn here at WA are those who have hopped about and cherry-picked or done their own thing without following one of the courses first step by step. :) Rich.

I've been following the certification very closely every step of the way (and find it very informative and enjoyable). I must have missed wherever it was mentioned about the social plugin.
