New Site Content Platform - Heads Up!
Hi Folks
If you haven't been using the New Site Content Platform, then you're missing out! But I just wanted to give you a heads up when using the spell checker. When correcting simple words like "to" and "the", you have to pay attention.
For example, I had "the the" as opposed to "to the" and the spell checker picked it up. Which was great. But what I didn't realize was that when I accepted the suggested correction to change the "the" to "to" it changed every single "the" to "to" in the post. I didn't even realize that happened, until I decided to do a second spell check; I liked watching it work (LOL) and I wanted to make sure I got all the errors.
With the second spell check, all the incorrect "to" were highlighted. That's when I realized what happened. Long story short, I did those type of corrections manually. I know the platform is still in the teething stage, but don't be afraid to use it, because it's pretty great. If you haven't tried it yet, you should definitely do so.
Keep your head up, eyes on the prize, and keep going!
Vanessa

I am pretty much hooked, love the spell/grammar checker but the images is by far the best tool.
Thanks for the heads up, Vanessa.
At least I'll be watching it out when composing my article.

So glad you are enjoying it and do know that the different colours within the spell /grammar/sentence structure check (when you run it) mean different things.
As you go through them, it is going to help you correct almost all of your errors and issues, it is very thorough and does over 100 checks! :)
Thanks Kyle
It is very thorough and I am enjoying it very much. Will look out for that colour thing in future. But I didn't mind what happened with me, because I got an opportunity to learn something new, so it's all good.
Apart from that, it's very convenient and it sort of encourages you to write.
Thanks Vanessa. I clean forgot to check spelling & grammar with my SiteContent posts. Oops! Appreciate the reminder.
that's an important heads up! I did that once in Word and it was a harder reverse it, I had to nit pic manually through an entire 40 page document and it did the middle of words where the letters appeared too!
Ouch! That must have been quite an undertaking. Have you used the new site content platform?
I've been dabbling with it, but haven't jumped fully in yet. I think I will switch over to it though as it is brilliant for motivation and tracking visibly our posting activity ever egging us on to posting even more! Love that. I'm looking forward to the version that is coming, with images... The 'sentence structure' feature is going to be interesting, I'm a stickler for grammar and hope I don't find myself arguing with it lol!
