I've used one smiley emoji so far, so just curious of others opinions.
In my opinion it would have to depend on your target audience. For example, I am targetting men in my niche so I avoid them as they simply do not fit with my site.
If you are after a younger audience maybe but my opinion is that they could (and I say could) make your site look a little less professional.
That is what I thought so too. I randomly landed on someone's (non-WA blog) blog with similar niche to mine.
I noticed the blog had a lot of emojis, my first impression was -it made the content a little less professional. Thank you for your feedback, Paul.
I don’t, because I don’t know how my readers might take them. Better safe than sorry.

Hi - I personally don't like them. It makes me think of an over-excited teenager having a Snapchat conversation, as opposed to a professional business owner.
if it fits your niche then use them - mine don't tend to.
will they show up properly on all devices used to view them
i know here that the preview for the responses doesn't show emojis just the characters.

I think the most I used was :) once or twice in blog. Even that, it still came out not too professional. But with my niche, one or two I think is not too bad.

So if it's stolen or free then credit should be given? I disagree with you on that. My photos are purchased all the time through various online platforms and I always get a photo credit. It takes nothing for a person to add a credit.
What I meant was you don't HAVE to give credit. Of course giving credit is always nice.
No, no one should STEAL pictures. Free pics don't need credit either, it's optional, it even says on the free site that it's optional.
On this note, could you tell me quickly if what I’m doing is right or wrong?I have just used free photos on site content here at WA, and hearing they were free just place them on my blog post. Am I missing something here, should I go back and try and find a name, I’m not sure if there was? Thank you 🙏

If you purchase from somewhere like Shutterstock, no, or even free photos from Pixabay, also no. Their terms will state clearly that the images are royalty free and attribution is not required.
As a pro photographer myself, I would. :) We hardly get enough credit as it is and always appreciate it when we get credited for the hard work and effort we put into creating a photo.

Back up your website first (that way you'll have a means of restoration if worse comes to worse) and then backup EVERY time you receive word of new versions of anything from WordPress itself to your theme and plugins.
