I have started getting a lot of backlinks from these websites. They do not seem organic or valuable. I have never paid for backlinks or anything like that.
Why am i gett
I think Steve has it right. I recently had to trash about 50 comments from a site with back links mostly to porn. I may have to do more if they happen again.
Hi Philip,
Yes, you should disavow these sites if you do not like them and you don't want their backlinks. Have you tried PM' ing Kyle or Jay about this? Maybe they have some answers to your questions regarding this.

If you are using All in One SEO, simply go to the Bad Bot Blocker and add their link to the "Referrer Blocklist".
By the way, Google has become wise to this method of negative SEO and they can no longer hurt your website.
I would say like Joe here. Backlinks are still good in a SEO point of view, but they have to be good ones. I checked the two sites you mentioned and they don't look very good.
I wouldn't pay for backlinks either. I used to do it in the old days because that's what we were taught to do, but that's a dangerous path to take these days if Google notice that there is an unusual flow of backlinks coming in to our site all the sudden.
Just my opinion here.
The only thing I do outside my website for SEO juice is:
- Fetch my posts as Google after I published them
- Write about them in Google +
- Get comments from WA sitecomment
I used to get backlinks to my site by paying a backlink service provider. I understand, backlinks do not contribute to your site ranking like in old days unless they are natural and has authority. Paying someone or use a software to build backlinks to your site might do more harm than good to your site.
I would recommend do it manually from your site and naturally.
Hope that helps.
Joe

Hi Philip - I'm seeing more of these on my site. I just send them to trash. If you look at their URL's typically they are spam. Once your site gains authority you should be seeing better back-links.

I am doing some work for a travel agent.
How does Google deal with this duplicate content if the duplicate content originates from the same website?
Each holiday
Hi Philip,
I really don't know how Google will deal with pages of duplicate content, but would it be possible to just consolidate the duplicate content into one page? If yes, then why not place links to this page on the other pages with the different itineraries? In this way, Google will see just the one page with the same content (best time to travel, Safety info, and travel tips) instead of on several pages. This may seem overly simplistic, but just may solve the problem. :-) Hope this helps,
Deidre
I wouldn't worry about these 'schedule like' repeating contents. Google knows...just as it is with recipes . Only so many different ways to roast a piece of pork. Salt, pepper, pre-heat oven to 350F, roast for 2 1/2 hrs. Serve with potato knoedel.
John.
loL! Good point. I am just worried about the volume of content.
Best time to go
What To Wear
Weather
Cultural Differences
etc etc etc...
There is a lot of content there for every single itinerary.
there are so many answers to this questions -see if this helps Gosh, Does Google Penalize Duplicate Contents?
Thanks. I agree. I am torn on how to approach this so I am putting out a few feelers to see what other people think.
