My long-standing problems with posts and tags being NoIndexed by Google remain frustratingly unresolved. I have used RankMath and now Noindex SEO but over half of posts indexed

Each SEO plugin has its own settings that you need to be familiar with. It is not a Activate and go easy thing to setup but once completed properly, each SEO plugin has its own advantages, depending on the level of detail you are looking for.
Have you tried the one the Kyle recommends users to use? Setting Your Website Up for Search Engines (Using The SEO Framework) Hope you find this helpful.

Most plugin set-ups seem overly complicated.

Have reverted to SEO framework and waiting to see results but am still having issues with 35 pages no-indexed.
Have also tried All In One SEO, Rank Math, Yoast, none of which have resolved things. Very frustrated with the process as I have now been months with little traffic. What do you suggest I do?

The error "NoIndex" has nothing to do with the SEO plugin. It's reported by Google Search Console.
You can try to ask new indexing of the page or post, by inspecting its URL in GSC...

Thank you, Slavka6, TheAbie, MikeGhibaudi, and others. Resolved the problem on WordPress Dashboard/SEO/Feed Settings/Change Feed Settings/tick Allow Indexing of Feeds. All unindexed pages then miraculously disappeared. Whoopie!
