Does anyone know if it's okay to do a screenshot of a review from an affiliate website for products we're promoting on our sites?
Thanks in advance,
Paula

thanks

Hi, Paula
I would ask first. I know Amazon has strict rules about screenshots, etc.

Frank

Definitely better to ask to be on the safe side.

Thanks, Lisa.

Hi Paula,

I think it's better to first ask permission from the owner of the website in question... Unless it's specifically stated that you can use content...

Best regards,

Thanks, Peter.

Different vendors might have different rules and I've certainly done it with no issues. Probably safest to ask, though.

Thanks, Phil. I think it will be okay if I put "Review from "name of site". I'll give it a whirl. I don't see they exclude that.
Paula

Should be safe enough. I mean, why should any object to a good review about their product being published?

I want to switch one of my sites from the heavy Divi theme to a lighter-weight theme. When I preview the change, it's a mess and will take days to edit all my articles to look

I always go back to the latest worspress theme and then to a theme of my choice. Generate press is a good one if you do not know what

👍

Ps
First make backup with updraft backup

We do what Phil suggests too. It removes so much frustration.
When we ask Site Support to copy our site to a test site we make sure they understand we want to COPY and not move. We also make sure to set the test site so search engines will not crawl it. (settings-> reading.

create a staging site ...or get support to do it for you ...
do all the changes ...test it ...be happy with it...
then overwrite your current site with hte new one...
less interruption for your visitors and you can announce a new look site...
it is a pain doing it but loads have come away from divi...
if you want to go for the lightest method then maybe look for a developer who can use oxygenbuilder to recreate your site and tweak it ....
but you are then stuck with it...
or go with gp as a low cost option with pro or neve or blocksy themes...

May be consider speeding it up vs changing theme and messing it up, you could first test on a staging site before applying to main.

Hey Paula,

Yes, I can well imagine it would look a mess. Divi is simply a pagebuilder, and it can be cumbersome to say the least.

What you could do is setup your site on a SiteRubix server, and make your changes there.

Then you will have your LIVE site to refer back to, when making your changes with the new light theme.

Once you get your site looking like you want it to look, simply back up the SiteRubix site and restore your LIVE site with the backup copy... and POOF!

You're done!

This way your live site need not be affected in any way, while you are making your changes.

Hope you find this helpful.

Bing is having some issues. I could only log in to it. When I went to go to my website or submit a URL I was met with a blank page.
I contacted them and the time from my initial contact to having it all fully operational again was about 6 weeks !.

Thanks for responding. :)

Yes. I too noticed that. In fact, if you try and search manually on the bing for the queries for which your page is ranking at a particular position, you won't find it there or even around that position.

I believe their tracking is flawed.

Hi all. They are still working on the popup issue. But they did have me install a new theme. I already own Divi so I installed it. But, now I have this meta data at the top of

As info, "Ultimate Addons for Gutenberg" Plugin has a pretty nice TOC along with some other cool stuff.

Cheers,

Michael

It was definitely the TOC plugin. Thanks so much for responding guys. :)

Paula

Hey Paula,

You may have conflict with the Divi theme and a plugin you have installed previously.

Try a different theme and if you STILL see that error, then let SiteSupport know of this. Using a free, fully responsive theme might be your best bet.

Hope you find this helpful.

I would guess that it has something to do with the theme.
I would install a new them and look at it in the preview mode and see if it works.
If it does then it's in your theme.

It shouldn't be the theme. I'm using it on another site. But I'm still having the popup issue from last night, so maybe there is something awry. I hate to change it again. I've spent hours adjusting pages...

Paula

Do you have any different plugins on this site that you don't have on your other site with that theme?

I think it's because of a new TOC plugin I added. Only the posts with the TOC have this problem. :( But it's a great TOC. Oh well.

Looks like the first line of html code, my guess is that a few characters are missing On your post template, either replace it or fix the omission

Thank you. How do I know what is missing?

Do you have a new autoresponder? I use Send Pulse to play around and that looks like the option for notifications...

If you accept it you get a box on the button right of your pc or probably mobile device (I am not sure I don't have a mobile device).

Hi Eric. No I don't. I think it's related to the old Subscribers push notifications plugin I tried a few months ago. Thanks for your help.

Paula

In either case... there is rogue code on the site that will need to be removed.

Check with the plugin creators and see if others have had it happen as well.

Yep, got a subscriber optin at abut 5 seconds or so on the site.

Okay, thanks. That's not the one I'm talking about. It's a weird one that doesn't belong on the site. It comes and goes really fast, before you can even read it.

Paula

Could anyone take a look at my site and let me know if you are seeing this popup after scrolling down a post? It doesn't seem to be happening on the home page. Just all other pages.

Thanks in advance!

Paula

Hi Paula, your homepage is ok. I clicked on the omega 3 and 6 blog and after about 10 seconds received the pop-up to subscribe.

I see a popup to push notifications on the home page as well as the others. Using Chrome.

Thanks so much. :)

Is it a pop-up prompt in the bottom right corner of the PC browser?
If that's the case, Chrome can type in the address bar: chrome://settings/content/notifications
Then turn off the corresponding website notifications.

No it's not a notification. It looks like spam. It's not on the lower right. It pops up and then goes away right away.
Thanks for responding.
