Hello, I've had my "About" page up for 18 months. If I change the page name now to "My Story" will that impact the google rankings negatively?
Hi Michael
If you do a google search for:
changing-page-title-affect-seo
you'll find an excellent article on the subject...
The thing is that changing a title can have an indirect effect on SEO for the post/page. The effect can be positive or negative depending on whether it matches user intent better. If the article gets more clicks that people then stay to read, the effect would be positive. If the new title attracts more clicks that lead to an article that doesn't meet most users' intent, the effect will be negative.
So it's important when creating or changing a title to make sure it is designed to reflect a user's intent and leads to an article that is congruent with the title.
Also, give a title and article time to establish itself... it can take months for an effect to be seen.
:-)

Hi Michael
Please don't change the URL as others have mentioned, Google will not appreciate it and will consider it a new post.
Best still, why not just create a new page titled My Story with new content to add and then use an internal link to connect to two if you wish?
That way you have an additional page or post (your choice) and have that indexed on its own.
Just a thought to consider.
Andre
If you have published a post or page, you shall not change the title. I made that mistake and Google didn't index that page. This happened before I connected the website to Google Search Console. The url and post title must be the same.
You can edit all except change the URL - if the url changes to Google it would be a new post, any ranking that has been done would be lost.

Do I need to buy a new domain and pay for separate hosting to create a landing page separate from my website?
As others have said, just create a page on your site and use it as you wish. It won't be on your menu (unless you want to there, but usually is not) but people will land there if you send them to that link. From there, they can choose other areas of your site, too.
All the best
You can place a landing page on your website and control where people can go through there.
Lily
Why do you want a landing page separate from your website, Landing pages are normally pages on your website that don't appear in your menu but are reached through promotion, such as blog posts or advertising.
Ah I see. It is more to eliminate distraction of my blogs so that I may get them to focus on 1 purpose. So its the same web address with a abc.com /xxxxx?
The way I use them is to create a landing page that's written to pre-sell my affiliate's product and to contain my affiliate link.
Then I can write one or more blog posts reviewing the vendor's product, perhaps focusing on one particular aspect and using keyword rich content. The blog post links to the landing page not the vendor.
Sometimes I'll include an opt-in on the landing page so that I also capture the customer's name and email address, rather than just handing it over to the vendor.

Hi team, I have about 20 posts on my site since late Nov. I've followed Kyle's recommendations on Keyword search and selecting low competing keywords. I only have the time
Michael! No worries, the Amazon cancellation hits quite a few members. There are differing opinions on whether joining in the training is too soon or not! Keep writing relevant content, and then reapply to Amazon. You'll also have to change all your links when you get accepted into their program again!
Jeff
Hi Michael,
It does take time to get traffic to your site and it starts with creating engaging content. Viewers need to trust you and feel that you can solve their problems. They need to be brought initially to an awareness of the fact that you understand their issues and can help them.
I had the same issue with Amazon. And I came to the conclusion that I was too soon on the “sell”.
Good content is key and I would not try to rush that process
Traffic will flow, when you offer real value.
Very helpful sir. I think I was too early in applying for access. Will keep posting, nurturing and creating trust.

Team:
I only subscribe to fitness, health and sports SiteComment topics yet I keep getting Tony Lee's posts on Affiliate information 7/10 times. Is there any way to remove
Great question I have had the same concern. I have taken note of the answers left by others.
Thanks for asking.
Honestly go through Tony's site/posts and comment, there are some really great learning gems in there even if its not your thing... I learned loads..
Thanks. Yes, I have read many and learned and commented several times. Commenting takes time and I prefer to invest this time in other areas or the least spread amongst a few niches. His content is valuable indeed.
Yeah it can be a little off putting to get the same sites to comment on all the time. The same issue has happened to me. I think it is an underutilized resource and perhaps not enough people feel their sites in a good enough position to submit for comments.
Hi - no, Tony does request a huge amount of comments, there is no way of filtering them out.
Although you have chosen your preferences, that is simply so the system can email you if a comment is required on your particular interest.
If you just go direct to Site Comments, then its the luck of the draw as to what subject you get.

Why do I receive the same site to comment on 7 out of 10?
