Hello everyone!
Does anyone know how to set cookies on a website? Thanks in advance

If you are looking to add the cookie consent form you need to add a plug in like GDPR cookie consent, I think I use.
Stephen

Thank you Stephen!

Hey Melisa,,

If you have Google's tracking ID on your website that creates cookies.

What exactly are you looking to setup?

Have you checked through the many different tutorials that have been shared here on the WA platform, yet? See screen print below...

Hey Triblu!
Thank you for your reply. I know very little about cookies. I will inform myself through these tutorials.

My blog is in the field of health, I cannot advertise on Facebook. I need to add new friends to my group and invite them to my Facebook page. It's going slow. Do you know of a

I want to know my target audience hangouts then focus my efforts on those channels.

I'm not an expert in the field I'm writing about, but I've been informed about it all my life. I provide useful and verified information.

Thank you Abie!

Lots of good quality content early and often will allow your website to gain traction and traffic and when Affiliate programs see that, you willl find it much easier to get accepted by them, Melisa!

Jeff

Thank you Jeff! I don't publish texts often, but high-quality texts of about 2000 words, because the competition writes so much, so I try to write more about a certain topic.

I totally understand, Melisa! One of the important things when choosing what you want to promote to ask is, " Will I be able to conitnually write good and relevant content on the subject?" Just something to think about, but we all have our own way of doing things, os you might find success that way. It is certainly not unheard of, my friend!

Jeff

Hey Melisa,

Please don't shoot the messenger (me)... but I had a health blog myself once...

After Google got sued by an person silly enough to Google search what to do with chest pains... daaah... and they refused to acknowledge any health niche blogs that were not owned by a medical society, registered doctor or nurse.

(I shut down my health niche website after that)

See screen print below...

If you are a registered health care provider, you will need to seek what requirements are necessary to be shared where on your website to get Google to even acknowledge your site.

To answer your question... I've never chased anyone to get followers when it comes to creating a Facebook Fan page... but, now I'd sooner start a GROUP instead.

Have you tried that?

Then, simply go on other social media platforms announcing your new Facebook group. That MAY work best for you.

Hope you find this helpful.

Thanks for the tips! I am not a doctor, nurse, or nutritionist. I haven't created a facebook group, but I will try to reach the audience that way. I noticed that even the competition doesn't have a great reaction of followers to their posts. I'll try the facebook group and if that doesn't work, maybe I'll change my niche.

Does anybody know how can I protect the text from being downloaded, that is, that no one can copy it from my blog?

Yes, you can add a plugin that will eliminate hot-key and right-click actions. This works for the rntire page, images and text content.

The plugin I use, the free version, is "Secure Copy Content Protection".
The free version provides all that you need

Shiuld anyone cooy and use your text, their copy will show up as plagiarized, I wouldn't worry so much about that, especially when just getting started.

Should you discover that soneone has stolen your text content, contact the website owner via contact form or email, if provided.

Tell them that they are using copied text from your website, and to please remove the content from their site.

Rudy

If you build your sensitive material in in a pop up website inside your website (same principle as picture in picture), you may be able to hide that specific code, however it may not be user experience friendly.

You cannot, there's no full bullet proof even if you disable right clicking, anyone can get to the source code and copy your content if they wish to.

And also it had been to slow down your website speed dramatically with these plugins.

There are plugins to do this. Just search for content protection. They will protect against the casual copier by disabling right-click, mouse swipe and Ctrl+A.

Hi - you can install a plugin that disables right clicking, but realistically, there are other ways to take your content.

You can't protect against a determined hacker.

If you do find your content on other site, you can initiate the DMCA process through Google to get it removed.

Hi everyone!

Can I change the theme (design) of a blog that was indexed a few months ago and has a lot of text?
Does it have an impact on ranking on Google?

To change your theme, here is what to do.

You may go to Appearance > Themes and add new.

Input what you are looking for, install and activate.

Your content will be left intact, you may lose out on CSS styles and social media icons if that, however with a bit of tweaking and you are done.

We always recommend you leaving a back up theme, you may od with the Twenty TwentyTwo.

I hope this helps

Thank you!

Hey Melisa,

The following tutorials may offer you the help you seek: Hope you find this helpful.

Thank you!

The theme is just a lens that the site is viewed through. Changing it has no impact on content.

Thank you!

Yes, you can change your theme if you wish. You will not loose any of your content. Your theme does not impact the indexing and ranking of your content. You will probably have to do some customizing of your home page and header.

Thank you!

You are welcome.

You can change themes at any time. Understand that changing your theme affects all your blog posts. Sometimes it can affect layout and how your images are laid out.

Thank you, Eric!

Within my blog I created a page called "Blog" and in that category are all my posts. This is the home page of my blog.
I want to write product reviews in the form of posts.

You can create categories and place as subs under your blog, then you assign your posts to various categories.

When a visitor clicks on the category, they can see all posts related.

Resources

Thank you TheAbie!

What is the best place to post reviews:
- In the menu or
- in a sidebar widget within a category?

I created a category "reviews" and have a category widget in the sidebar. I don't see "reviews" there. Maybe because I haven't written a single review yet.

P.S. english is not my native language. I didn't understand the word subs.

Thank you!

Hi Melisa
If you've set up a page called Blog, and used the WordPress Settings / Reading function to allocate the Blog page as your Posts Page, then "Blog" hasn't really been set up as a Category...

On the other hand, if you set up a Blog Category, and make that a Parent Category of a child category called Reviews (or any number of other aptly named child categories)...

Then set up your menu to show the Blog category, with the other categories "hung beneath" the Blog category (i,e, indented in the menu), what you'll get is:

A menu item called Blog...
when someone hovers over the word "Blog" in the menu, a list of the other Categories appear each of which will contain a Blogroll of posts in that Category...
and...
if someone clicks the word "Blog" they'll get a complete list of all posts whichever Category they are allocated to...

Using Categories to create a menu is the most flexible way of creating categorised blogrolls.

If this isn't clear, please feel free to send a PM and I'll try to clarify.
:-)
Richard

Hi Richard!

Thank you for your reply. The menu includes the following items:
- blog (home page with posts)
- about me
- contact

I would also add the item "reviews" to this. It wouldn't be like a submenu in the blog item.

The easiest way is to use a Category of Reviews to add to the menu... I'll explain if you need help.
:-)
Richard

Ok. How can I do that?

I think I've written something up on this somewhere already... I'll try yo find it rather than re-write... feel free to chase in a day or two if necessary... I will get back to you on this...
:-)
Richard

Ok

Hi Melis
I suspect tht Abie has already given you all the info you need on using Categories as Menu items... if you need more, let us know.

Send a PM if you need to.
:-)
Richard

Thank you Richard!

I would go with #1. It helps with your readers navigation and makes it easier to find what they are looking for. I considered making a static homepage and doing a ‘blog’. I haven’t done so yet but if I do I believe I will have an image for each category (saying the category) on the blog page and link each image to its category. You may want to do this instead of creating a separate page for the reviews as you can still link the image to the category.

Thank you. The idea is great. My theme is simple and I can't do it with images.

Will you have different categories for blogs:(reviews and informational and help?)
Will your niche have several product review categories?

Creating multiple post categories helps your site visitors.

I plan to have two categories within the blog: blog and reviews.
Within the reviews there will be different product reviews that have the same goal. Each of these products solves the same problem.
