Hi I have used Pikochart which is great but limited templates, and I've now started with Venngage but I'm having problems with them, doesn't want to scroll down the template to

Try Canva.

Will do! Thanks

Here are some great infographic sources; http://www.creativebloq.com/infographic/tools-2131971

Hi Michael thanks for this it looks interesting, will definitely note down some of these thanks Marie.

You can try out Easel.ly
http://www.easel.ly/

Thanks Loes, I was looking through other blogs and noticed you'd mentioned this so will also look into it.

I use Powerpoint Marie.
here are a load of free templates if you are interested

Brilliant thanks I must give that a try, hopefully they will work on the Mac version.

I have tried creating my own with piktochart and canva, but now I have them professionally created.

The work is so much better and it allows me to focus on the other things that I am good at.

Best,
JV

Thanks, I quite enjoy the more design side of content but I know what you mean. The templates are rather limiting, I never really enjoyed Canva but might revisit it.

additionally, there is fotojet.com, snappa.io

Video content is important and most of us will be using it at one stage or another, so I just wondered what software was out there and recommended for blogging purposes and usi

Corel Video Studio
Serif MovieMaker
Windows Movie Maker

Thanks I will look at them as well, are there any out of those that stand out at all?

I know I have seen this and maybe its theme related - but I have set a featured image to appear in the blog roll but I don't want the image appearing at the top of the post as

If anything relate to coding I will blank. sorry, ordinarily I do, delete featured image and go to post/pages and add media and upload files(image).

I join Elijah on Marion's training.

Thanks it's great training but it doesn't really answer the question! See comments below especially from Nicole who provides good information here.

You have to delete the featured image, and add your image using attach media. See Marion training on adding images on post or pages.

Thank you so much for asking this question! I have had this exact same problem and I finally gave up and just accepted it there! I am saving this discussion to try some of these suggestions. My theme is the same way - it is F2 theme.

Debbie The F2 theme has the featured image option

Hi Debbie,

I've just checked that theme and you'd have to remove a code snippet from the theme in content-single.php

Do you know how to change codes? If not, I can either walk you through the process or delete the snippet for you.

Nicole

@Dreamer56

This is the normal "Featured Image" setting as seen in blog rolls. Removing the featured image there would not only remove it from the post, but also from the blog roll.

If she wants to keep it in the blog roll but removed within the post, she will have to remove the code from content-single.php

Some themes let you modify it within theme options or underneath the post editor, some need a code deleted or added. :)

Nicole maybe I am not understanding which featured image is in question. I just set and removed a featured image on a blog post in the F2 theme simply by using the featured image option on the page as in the screen shot above.

@Dreamer56

As you've shown in your image, this is how a featured image is set. Under normal circumstances, it's to show up in the blog roll as we all know it. I've attached an image below from her website. Image 1 is the blog roll with the featured image to the left.

When you click on one of her blog posts in the blog roll, the full post has also the featured image shown right above the blog title. This is where the featured image needs to be removed. See Image 2 below

While you can easily remove and set a featured image for the blog roll within the WP Editor (as shown in your image), removing it from within the actual post may require css code change.

Some themes let you toggle it on and off in either theme options, customization or underneath the WP Editor. For those, who doesn't, you'll either need to add a code or remove a code snippet to remove it. :)

Hope this helps.

Thanks Nicole

Yes, that is what I meant Nicole - I wanted to keep it in the blogroll but remove it from the actual post. At this point, I have kind of gotten used to it and it doesn't bother me as much as it did at first.

That is the only problem I have with that theme - and I wish they would add more color options, but other than that, the F2 theme is great.

I just saved the image you sent telling me what to remove. Would that remove it from all posts if I do it just once? That would be great, if I get brave enough to try it! Thanks so much for that!

Thank you again for your help Tim! Very much appreciated! I was trying to do what Nicole was suggesting. Maybe one day I will get brave enough to change that! :)

@Deb425

Hi Debbie,

I'm picky, too when it comes to theme customization. There are themes which allow you to change a lot but it's just always something missing.

To your question, yes, if you delete the code as seen in my image, you'll remove it for all the posts and that permanently as long as the code is removed. Adding it right back to the same spot would reset it and show the featured image again.

And for your color options, this can be done with a simple code add. This requires a Custom CSS Plugin as it's the easiest way to add codes.

Let me know if I can help you with any coding and changes and I'll look into it. :)

Thank you so much Nicole! I may remove it but at this point, I have kind of gotten used to it. I just started making all the featured images 150 x 150 so it doesn't take up too much room at the top of the posts and that helped. I am okay with the colors for now because I only have 2 sites and that is plenty for me to keep up with. But I am saving this post for future reference, for sure! Thanks so much for all of your help!

Yes, it is usually a theme option and many themes allow you to toggle the featured image on and off in your blog post.

For themes not having this option, it requires a change in CSS. You can easily use a custom css plugin and post a code there without an issue to the rest of your theme code.

You can give me the theme name (or names) in question and I'd be happy to have a look at it. :)

Hi yes its that toggle bit that is missing I know I've seen it in other themes. I have a css plugin would you happen to know the code I need, I'm searching wordpress at the moment but can't find it? Emphasize theme

I've just checked the theme. You don't need a plugin for this as you can toggle it on and off under "Appearance" ==> "Customize". You can find it in "Basic Settings" almost at the end of the list.

It's called "Hide Featured Image on Single Post". Select it and click "Save & Publish" at the top.

If that doesn't work, then we go with the code.

Hi Nicole, thanks I've just updated my theme so I can now do this although I ended up adding in the code first before I realised!

I appreciate the time thanks

You're welcome. Glad it's fixed. :)

I always have the featured image and the first image on the post the same. The image only shows once on the post. Personally I think it ties in the post and the blogroll so your reader knows they've arrived at the right post.

Hi Marion my theme automatically places it right at the top of the post as well regardless of where I have taken the image from, so sometimes it is duplicating an image or placing it where I don't want it .. that was what I was trying to get rid of.

Go to edit your post, on the right it says, remove featured images when you have an image, and when you do not have an image, it says add feature image

Hi Loes I see that, I can set a featured image but I know on some themes you can show the featured image on the blog roll but not have it appear on the blog post at the top as well.

Ah I understand, you want to have it on the blogroll but not on top of your post, hmm, I have to think this over.

I have looked around the help forums of WP a bit, you can add different post layout plugins, when you have a test website, you could try them out, what exactly you can change using one of those. But I am afraid this is theme related, and you have to change some codes in the editor to make your wish come through. Either way, do experiment on a test site. Not on your regular one!

OK I'm holding my breath but might have solved it - (well not really me).

Apparently the theme was updated a couple of months ago and this was one of the named problems to be addressed in this update. (I hadn't updated theme so that was stage 1).

Now I have added CSS code I found !! which is this;

.entry-header img.wp-post-image {
display: none;
}

.single .post-thumbnail {
display: none;
}

And just published post with featured image on blog roll and not at top of the actual post. Da Dah... (for now)

Thanks for taking time though Loes, much appreciated

Applause for you! Super girl!

Not that super now I've realised new theme update also has option to remove featured image!! I knew there was a reason I'm not a programmer lol

You've got a little wiser than yesterday:))

If you go to edit the post, it should be in the seo section.

Oh sorry. Not sure how to pull that off.

lol - but I think in some themes it might be in the SEO section, just not in this one!

Free members can read discussion threads, but they can't comment on them. No, they can't access the feedback and site comments.
They also can't write a blog or write on their profile.

Hi Ursulla, thanks for replying I thought they could access more than that - especially discussion thread? But maybe not.

I asked a friend that is a free member, so the information is correct. All you can do really is working on your siterubix site.

Yeah, the SiteComments, SiteFeedback, SiteHealth & SiteSupport aspects are premium only. A Starter does have access to the SiteManager and the SiteDomains platforms though. :)

I haven't seen any real answers to this question and I have a domain name due for renewal at Namecheap. Can I renew it here, or to do that would I have to let it expire at Name

good question however I do not think we can do it with existing domain names bought elsewhere

Typically it renews automatically from wherever you made your domain purchase if you set it up that way. I'm sure there's a way of transfering it over to WA if you purchased it somewhere else.
Ed

When we do get a definitive answer, I'd like to know. I have two I would like to put in WA hosting.
Wayne

Thank you for raising this point. I was about to ask the same thing, like you I have various domains due for renewal shortly...

I suppose only Kyle or Carson can answer - I'll presume no for now though!

Not yet, they are working on this, I understood

Thanks Loes - I wonder if there is any chance of them working on it before the end of next month?

You should ask Kyle, I don't know how far they are
