Walk With Me As I Go From Zero To $5,000!

Published on Wealthy Affiliate — a platform for building real online businesses with modern training and AI.
I have shared several posts recently, that have to do with how successful my latest blog is doing due to me following Partha's Potions (link below).
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/parthab/blog
I have gotten a lot of requests and feedback from other members, who wish me to show exactly what steps I took to take that website from zero to AdSense income in less than 2 weeks, with VERY few posts (yes, even got approved by AdSense!).
You can read my previous posts if you need to catch up with all of that, this post is to assist those who have specifically asked for more information.
If you have ANY questions, please feel free to ask in the comments section below!

I am going to create a brand new website today, and use this post to document my daily activities so that everyone can see exactly what I do, how I do it, how much time I spend on various tasks etc.
To make it fair, considering many here do not have the same amount of experience as I do with WordPress, I will be using the GeneratePress theme for this website.
This theme is easy to learn, looks great, is perfect for site speed....there's a reason it's the most recommended theme here. Because it simply is the BEST for those just starting a new website.
I will be editing this post as I work, to add information as I complete each task.
I will be continuing this until I have made $5,000 in profit, using various income sources and various marketing strategies, including social marketing.
If you would like to follow in my footsteps, than join me on this journey that is going to be SUPER fun!

Step One: Choose a Niche
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/online-entrepreneur...
I have selected my niche, and as per my latest blog, I am going to make this wild and wacky! My niche is "The End Of The World".
Step Two: Choose A Domain Name
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/online-entrepreneur...
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/building-your-own-t...
I registered my domain name right before I started this guide. I will not post it here, but it is in my profile.
Step Three: Install word press with the GeneratePress theme.
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/online-entrepreneur...
Step Four: Delete all the trash
I deleted all the pages / posts and plugins I won't be using so I can have a fresh start with the website. I also deleted all the themes except GeneratePress.
Step Four: Install Maintenance Plugin
I installed a maintenance plugin provided by Webfactory Ltd. I always install this plugin for every new blog I start.
I do this because I do not want google to index anything until I have officially launched it. The maintenance plugin basically blocks all the site except the main page which states the site is currently undergoing maintenance.
PLEASE NOTE: When you are logged in as admin, YOU won't be able to tell it's in maintenance because you have full access. If you view your site on your phone or another browser then you can see it, it will only show as maintenance on your main browser when you logout of your dashboard.
At this stage, I have spent about 2 minutes finding a great domain name (using expired domains), 5 registering the name and setting up the DNS to point here at WA and about 10 getting the site installed, setup and in maintenance mode.
Total Time so far: 17 minutes
It will probably take you longer than this, especially when searching for a domain name. If you find yourself having problems looking for a great name, I already have a video up that shows how to locate some great ones.
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/finding-great-domai...
Step Five: Install Classic Editor Plugin
I love the Gutenberg editor, but it slows my productivity down too much for my liking so I always install the classic editor so I can work faster.
This is something you will not need to do of course, I just prefer using the older editor.
Step Six: Install Legal Pages
I have various legal pages I always place on my websites when I create a new site.
They are: Affiliate Disclosure, Anti-Spam Policy, Contact Page, DMCA Compliance, Earnings Disclaimer, Privacy Policy, Terms Of Services
This took me a total of 6 minutes to do, simply because I use the same legal pages on ALL of my blogs.
I open one of my blogs in my browser, then open the new blog in a separate tab. I then copy and paste from the old blog, to the new blog. I then change the site name, and contact me link on the new site....viola all done.
The privacy policy is the main legal page you will need, I simply have added a page here and there over the years which has resulted in me having so many.
How to use the pages provided here ate WA
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/online-entrepreneur...
And a good place for finding more free legal documents is
https://seqlegal.com/free-legal-documents
Step Seven: Install Ninja Forms
This is the plugin I use for my contact page. Since I copy and paste my contact page information, the short code for Ninja Forms is automatically copied as well, so all I have to do is hit install & activate on this plugin and my contact page is ready to roll.
Total Time so far: 24 minutes
Step Eight: Work On Your Site Design
Since I am using the Free version of The GeneratePress theme, I'll direct you to the video I already created that shows how to work on your site design.
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/configuring-the-fre...
I have my site design completed, the quickest way to explain how to do this fast is to say, got to Canva, design a kick ass logo, then go to
https://imagecolorpicker.com/en
Upload your logo there, and it will tell you the HEX codes for the colors you are using in your logo.
Match these colors with your site design, POOF you now have a great looking blog!
This took me about 47 minutes to complete. Designing the logo being the most time-consuming part.
I also tossed up a junk article, so I could see how my site would look as I was working on the colors & design. I will delete the junk article once I write my first post.
Total Time so far: 1 Hour 11 Minutes
Step Nine: Add ClickBank Banners
I always start with ClickBank because it's the best affiliate program for a new website. It is also a program that offers all sorts of products one can promote, to sometimes earn an insane amount of income.
I have spent the past 2 hours and 38 minutes searching for products, and adding their banners to my site.
I found 2 products that are eh...sure but they may be removed, and one that is a WOOOT I know it's a winner.
Total Time so far: 3 Hours 49 minutes
Step Ten: Add Wealthy Affiliate Banners
Using ad inserter, I added some WA banners from
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/copy-and-share-weal...
I will later use Canva to design more banners to match the site's niche, but for now, this will do.
I used the ad inserter plugin to place the banners in every post, to the right of the 8th paragraph.
I also created a tracking link, so that I would know when the site landed me a referral. This step took about 17 minutes to get completed.
Total Time so far: 4 Hours 6 Minutes
Now that I have the key components in place, I will begin my keywords research.
Step Eleven: Keyword Research For Five Categories
Right now, I simply want to locate 5 keyword phrases that are suitable to use as categories. NOT for article titles.
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/online-entrepreneur...
Once I have my five categories, I install Yoast SEO (my smiley green friend)
I then go to the categories I have created so I can add a short description.
Ready to put this into action?
Start your free journey today — no credit card required.
Once I have two wonderful green dots, I know my categories are completed.
The reason I do this (focus on ensuring that I have great keywords for my categories, and a description that is in "the green") is that each "Category" produces it's own archives page, which will also get indexed. The description is almost like a meta tag, to tell google what the archive is about.
Since google LOVES updated content, every time you add a new post to a category, google sees that as the "archive page" being updated. Since this does give you a slight bump in rankings, it's best to ensure that your category uses great keyword phrases, with descriptions to match.
I start with five categories, because I am used to getting approved with AdSense (until this week) once I have 20 or more articles. This gives plenty of categories for 25 articles, with 5 in each category.
Of course more categories can always be added as your website grows.
This step took 23 minutes to complete.
Total Time so far: 4 Hours 29 Minutes
Step Twelve: Sipping Parthas Potions
Here is where the REAL FUN begins! Up until now, everything follows the WA training here.
Now, while you are learning, go ahead and write articles following the WA training. I plan to not only do that with my website, but I also plan to post some REDO articles
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/mariadale/blog/20-articles-a...
The site I was raving about earlier, is one I am devoting to Partha's Potions exclusively.
This site I am creating now will have articles posted like this:
7 of Parthas Potions (my lucky number since I submitted my site to AdSense when it had only 7 posts, and was accepted 2 days later with 9 posts).
4 Articles following the WA training using Jaaxy to research for low hanging fruit
3 Redo posts
The reason I plan to do this, is so that I can post 2 posts per day to this blog, instead of just one. I will still be following Partha's Potions mostly, while still adding keywords I research on Jaaxy, with my redos being something quick just to keep the site updated frequently.
Later, all of this will piece together and you will see why those 3 articles that are written using NO keywords research, will be utilized to not only gain traffic FROM those that are ranking well due to the keywords research.
BUT they will also be used to help build my mailing list at a much faster rate, and they will also be used to pitch products or services in a helpful manner.
I am calling this quits for today, and I will leave you with the beginning of Partha's Potions.
Start with:
Part One:
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/parthab/blog/research-rankin...
Part Two:
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/parthab/blog/research-rankin...
Read it carefully, then read it again, and take NOTES....bookmark it!
Read it very carefully, this is the post that lit a fire with me, there are so many gems in this post, and it's just a few tasty sips from Partha's Potions!
I'll be back tomorrow, I have some keywords research to do, and that is going to make me a while because I want to have at least 20 titles following Parthas methods, 20 low hanging fruit and 10 of REDOs.
8-28-2022
I am back, for another day of fabulously fun & bliss
Step Thirteen: Using Jaaxy To Find 20 low hanging fruit keyword phrases
I followed the WA training here to locate 20 keyword phrases . I created a catchy title for each phrase, then created a post within my website for that phrase. I set the post to draft, with no content so far.
I selected the proper category, then pasted the keyword phrase in the "Focus Kay Phrase" section where my smiley green friend (Yoast) awaits with a huge frown right now. He is just waiting for me to add some content :)
It took me a good 2 hours and 48 minutes to come up with 20 titles, using nothing but jaaxy.
Now, the training here demonstrates how to locate one phrase, for one post. Then you are guided to write the post following the set standards, before moving on to do further keywords research.
This is a great way to do things for most, remember, I am just explaining HOW I DO THINGS. So if you want to work on one keyword phrase at a time, you work your business the way you feel is best for you!
There is no right or wrong way when you are adding content that stays as "drafts" until you are ready to publish it for the world.
I simply like to add 50 to 200 titles to my own personal websites, before I actually take them out of maintenance. The reason for this is that I have 2 computers, 3 laptops, one iPad and 2 smart phones. All of these are in various locations, which I use based on where I am located at the moment.
My main desktop computer has dual monitors, which makes it much easier for me to do things like keywords research etc. I use it to get the titles, so my blogs are always at the ready with a "Just write and post" setting, where I do not have to do much more than dictate or type to create my content.
Later you will see how I automate almost everything to do with my blogs, so once they are at a ready...several things work in harmony together to make for an awesome site experience.
I wanted to explain this so that you will know that you do NOT have to come up with so many titles at once. It's just the strategy that works best for me.
I'm off now to research 20 titles following Partha's Potions.
Total Time so far: 7 Hours 17 Minutes
Step Fourteen: Start Guzzling Partha's Potions
OK, I have spent a total of 5 hours and 53 minutes conducting research per Partha's instructions. Some of this time was spent last night, some this morning.
Now I will be sharing a few links for this next step, because it would be very confusing if I did not.
These 2 links are articles that explain a bit more about Partha's Potion, and also the guidelines I used to do the research for my next 20 titles.
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/parthab/blog/research-rankin...
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/parthab/blog/research-rankin...
Now I would like to take a moment to explain something. I have spent the better part of this month reading every single one of Partha's posts. Some with quick glances, some more in depth.
I highly recommend one take the time to read through his posts, simply because he provides a plethora of helpful tips, tools and "get it done fast" techniques.
I'm not going to link to all of his posts here, but I will say that he provides information about some great tools that will help you with your research, including a great way to use Quora to gain insight!
I sit here with two monitors, so I can conduct my work more efficiently, my incognito browser open on one monitor with several tabs on my main monitor (my blog, google, quora etc.).
I take multi-tasking to a new level, so I want to stress once more, DO NOT WORRY if it takes you hours to find even a single phrase.
It's best to spend time looking for a GREAT question / phrase, then it is to wasting time writing something that is going to get ZERO traffic because it will NEVER rank well. I do not like wasting time (as some who know me have come to realize). I want my work to be as productive as possible.
This is something you should also focus on, Quality - Productivity!
There is also no need to get 20 titles at a time, I explained why I choose to do this, you do NOT have to do the same!
Total Time so far: 13 Hours 10 Minutes
Step Fifteen: Ten random Article Titles
I next created 10 random titles. As I was conducting my research earlier, I also discovered 2 phrases that were great for my categories so I now have 7 categories instead of the original five.
I created a title for each category (all 7) with 3 categories having two "random titled" articles.
The articles will be REDOs (see my other post about redos).
The reason I am placing a Redo in each category, is that I will shortly be installing a related posts plugin that will point to these articles.
It's something I do to monetize the traffic I am getting, to help keep visitors on my site longer. This results in more money, and a better chance of obtaining a subscriber. The titles for my redos are eye-catching titles as if I am trying to capture their attention about something very important.
This step took me a total of 32 minutes.
Total Time so far: 13 Hours 42 Minutes
Technically I could start writing my articles right now, and launch the site as soon as I get my first article published. But I'm not going to yet, I have a few things that I like to get done before I begin writing.
Step Sixteen: Create My Mailing List
I spent 5 hours and 28 minutes creating my mailing list. With this I started my autoresponder, created my sign-up page, and added a few gifts to entice site visitors to subscribe.
It took me a bit longer than usual because I had to spend some time researching which service I wanted to use. I used to be a die-hard aweber fan, until all my messages started going straight to the spam folder.
Today, I decided to give get response a try.
Using Canva, I created a banner that is automatically inserted in each article as I post it. The banner promotes the mailing list. I will add more banners in the future, until I have a total of 100 that will rotate so that site visitors will see a new banner on each page.
I always give something to subscribers with every email I send out, the sign-up gift is 3 electronic survival books. I also tossed in a pitch for WA, letting site members know where to go if they too desire to create a survival blog.
Total Time so far: 19 Hours 10 Minutes
Step Seventeen: Completed my first redo article
I spent about 19 minutes creating my redo article. I am striving to write over 1000 words, this one being at 1198 words.
There are no keyword phrases or anything of the like with this article. It's just there for information only. I do not expect to get much traffic to it right now, but it will later once the related articles plugin is up and running (I will be installing that later once I have enough content added).
There are a few more tweaks I plan to do later, but right now the site is launched and finally open to the public! I will start adding an article or two per day to it, in the morning.
Total Time so far: 19 Hours 29 Minutes
It would have been less time, but I had to find an autoresponder, and learn how to use it. THAT was a big pain in the bunion!
Normally I wait before I start my mailing list, but for this site, I wanted to go ahead and knock that out of the park so I could start my social marketing later this week.
8-29-2022
Step Eighteen: Install Easy Table Of Contents
I installed this plugin this morning so that each article will display a table of contents.
It took a total of 3 minutes.
Total Time so far: 19 Hours 32 Minutes
I am done listing "Steps" for now. I will add more steps, if I make any changes, add more plugins or do something more than write content.
For now, I am simply adding content for the next few days until I have enough content to make use of the related posts plugin.
ARTICLE>>> I have written another article, this one took 46 minutes to write & research. It's one following Partha's Potions. It has 1129 words.
Total Time Adding Content: 1 Hour 5 Minutes = 2 Articles
8-30-2022
I discovered that google has indexed the site. Yesterday it only showed the maintenance page, this morning it shows 4 pages, 3 legal pages and an archives page.
This is a very good sign for a new site, it means the googbot has taken interest.
I installed sitekit this morning, so I can keep track of site visitors and other site related information.
This took 8 minutes to get installed and setup.
Total Time so far: 19 Hours 40 Minutes
Article>>> I have written another article. This one took 2 hours 56 minutes to write. The reason this one took so long to write is because it is very complex with the keywords, density and way it's arranged.
What happened is I found an awesome question, that has keywords that also show to be very great according to Jaaxy.
Now Partha is always speaking about articles ranking well over multiple keywords, so I thought I would write this article so that it would rank well with the questions, and for the low hanging fruit phrase.
The article has 1563 words, and is in the green for SEO and Readability.
It also has a single link to a related clickbank product, and an enticement for site visitors to join my mailing list (which promotes WA right off the start).
This is the first article I have written for this site, that was formulated specifically for trying to gain referrals here at WA. If not a referral, then hopefully at least a new subscriber or Clickbank sale.
Total Time Adding Content: 4 Hours 1 Minute = 3 Articles
8-31-2022
This morning I simply wrote a redo article. I kept it short, simple and sweet. Mainly because the traffic to this article will come from "Related Links" that will be placed up later.
It's not intended to rank well, but is intended to pitch some products and my mailing list. At a later date, it will be used for something bigger for the website.
It also lets google know that I have added new content. Adding new content daily is a very big thing one should focus on. Even if you think you do not have time, one must MAKE time to complete this very important step.
This article took 22 minutes to write.
Total Time Adding Content: 4 Hours 23 Minutes = 4 Articles
9-1-2022
This morning I wrote a LHF article, it took 1 hour and 32 minutes.
Total Time Adding Content: 5 Hours 55 Minutes = 5 Articles
9-2-2022
I spent this morning installing 2 new plugins. Inline related posts and Wordpress Related Posts Thumbails
The first plugin, inline related posts, automatically inserts links to related posts throughout your articles as they are created.
The related posts thumbnails inserts related posts, with thumbnails (of course) at the end of every article.
I waited until I had a few articles with same categories and tags before I added these plugins, so I could make sure the visual looked good. Now that they are installed and configured, there's nothing more to be done to them except update when updates are available (which takes all of 2 seconds of clicking the update link).
It took me 13 minutes to install and configure both of these plugins.
Total Time so far: 19 Hours 53 Minutes
I have also completed my next article. Todays article is a REDO, which took all of 7 minutes.
Total Time Adding Content: 6 Hours 2 Minutes = 6 Articles
NOTE: This post has gotten so long that I have started a sequel, Part Two where you can read additional updates is located at:
