OK, awesome. You now have your niche, in other words, the direction for your brand & business. That is great and don't worry about this not being "perfectly clear" at this point, as you move forward the pieces of the puzzle are going to come together.

Starting with a big piece today, your website. We are going to be taking our niche idea and turning it into a tangible business starting with your website.

Building a Website Ain't Scary, It's FUN!

Building a website sounds like a "scary" process, but fortunately you have access to the most advanced, yet simplistic website platform in the world here at Wealthy Affiliate. We pride ourselves as a technology company here at Wealthy Affiliate and we are the industry leaders in the website development space.

I am not going to toot our horn any longer, I would rather you experience the website builder and platform for itself. The first step today is going to be building your website, which will literally take you less than 30 seconds.

Click the SiteBuilder link

within the menu, and you are going to be ready to rock here (and complete the next task).

Below I have included a "Building Your Website in Under 30 Seconds" video walking you through the Website Platform (also known as SiteRubix) here at WA and showing you how quickly and efficiently you can build a website here at Wealthy Affiliate.

Task 1: Build Your Website

Your website is your foundation of your business. It is where all of your traffic is ultimately going to come to, where you are going to build brand and trust within the industry, and where you can promote products/services and generate $$$!

The SiteBuilder platform here at WA is the most simplistic, yet advanced in the industry. It is going to take less than 30 seconds to get a fully operational, profit ready Wordpress website up and running online.

There are 4 steps in the website build process, that I am going to walk you through here. To access the SiteBuilder and EVERYTHING related to your website, you will simply click the light blue "SiteRubix" button in the main menu.

Step 1: Choose the Kind of Website

There are really TWO options here, on a FREE website or on your OWN domain. Ideally, you will have your own domain, but that can come with time.

You can "register" your very own domains right within Wealthy Affiliate using our state of the art SiteDomains platform, which will allow you to instantly set-up your own domain for your own use.

If you are just starting out as a Starter member, you will be building a website on the .siterubix.com domain, which is a completely free website. You can build and host your own FREE website as a Starter.

As a Premium member, you can build and host up to 10 websites (including websites on your own domains). As a Premium Plus+ member, you can build and host up to 50 websites (including websites on your own domains). That is more than adequate to drive many multi-million dollar businesses over time and our hosting platform is industry leading in terms of speed, security, and reliability...all critical factors to running a successful online business.

For the sake of this training, we are going to be choosing "On a free domain".

Do know that within the Premium membership, you can easily MOVE a free .siterubix.com button to a registered domain (one you own) using the "Premium Only" MOVE feature. So by all means start off with a free website and then down the road you can easily move it to your own domain.

Step 2: Choose a Domain

Remember last lesson when I chose my "niche". In this step, I am going to be choosing a name for my website and placing it in the "domain name" field. This is because this will be my website URL and my brand moving forward.

As you can see below, I have added my brand "how to lose belly fat today" into the domain field.

When you type in your domain, it will let you know if it is available or not. In my case it was, but if your first choice is not available simply do another search until you find a domain name that works for you.

You cannot put spaces in your domain name, hence why my domain is "howtolosebellyfattoday".

Step 3: Choose a Website Name

The name of your website should match your domain, but it just needs to be grammatically correct (with proper spacing). You can see below my example of this:

Domain: basketballskillsanddrills.siterubix.com

Title: Basketball Skills and Drills

It is as simple as that. Don't overthink this step, your title will be the same as your domain.

Step 4: Choose a Design

The last step is choosing a "look" for your theme. As a Starter member you will have access to ONE theme that has been hand picked for quality, speed, security, and overall theme design.

As a Premium Member though you will have access to over 4,134 designs (as shown below) or your website and there are always new designs being added to this daily. These are referred to as "Themes".

Choose a design that you like.

Click on the design you like, and then you will be able to build your site.

SiteRubix, a Next Level Website and Hosting Platform.

You are going to notice that there are many other website features allocated within the SiteRubix menu. I don't want to eat up too much of your time here, but it is important that you understand the incredible benefits of the SiteRubix platform.

The powerful hosting you have access you here is unparalleled in the Managed Wordpress hosting industry. We truly specialize here in providing a secure, robust and FAST platform for you to run your website.

We know that your website IS your business, and it is important that you have the most advanced technology to keep your business operating at 100% at all times of the day.

The following are just some of the powerful features included within the SiteRubix platform here at WA.

  • SiteManager (Starter, Premium & Premium Plus+)

I am thinking of a niche:

1. Reiki>natural gemstones for making jewelry. Amazon ACC Beads

2. Tibetan Singing Bowl set >Amazon Ohm Store

3. Amazon Basics multipurpose copy printer paper.

4. Space Pen Amazon > Fisher space pen.

Just questioning if I should look at best seller like # 3 & 4.
or i just be more specific like #1 and 2.

Also wrestling over what a good name is for website, suggestions are appreciated. Thank you

Hi I would go with something that best resonates with me, which you can think can writes 10 articles on he fly.

Starting out with one subcategory niche and once site starts gaining traction, traffic and authority you can scale.

For example for your first choice. Relaxation techniques for beginners as in Reiki related niche.

You may want to consult with https://answersocrates.com/ A niche subject is something you are passionate and genuinely interested in could be a hobby or an interest, and know so well you can write plenty original content about.

One niche, a website.

When deciding on a niche try narrow it down to a more specific niche, you can ask yourself the following question:

So I want to help people with ____________________ ?
Fill in the blank and you are going to get closer to a specific audience.

I am a little confused. Are you choosing one of the 5 for a niche?

It looks like all five are products. A niche could be something like gem stone jewelry making.

A niche is a topic not a product. When you have a topic then you talk about the definitions, how-tos, recommended & Product reviews, guldes.

Nice choice. You have a broad niche that you can use as your site grows in traffic.

When you first start your site it is best to start with one of your sub niches so you get a following. This way the search engines and your followers know what they can more specifically expect to find on your site..

HI affiliate marketing is broad, you would need narrow it down into what type you are going to talk about and who it would suit. i.e. Email marketing for beginners.

You can use nswersocrates.com to find a subcategory and once site starts gaining traction, traffic and authority you can then scale. A niche subject is something you are passionate and genuinely interested in could be a hobby or an interest, and know so well you can write plenty original content about.

Fill in the blank and you are going to get closer to a specific audience. Essentially you are writing informational and review posts for your visitors to let them make an informed decision whether to go click your links and go purchase the focused item you proposed to solve their issue.

You would have written 20 - 30 posts and have some traffic to be able apply for affiliate programs as typically they will check your site for relevance and traffic prior approval.

For Amazon it is 15 - 20 posts.

Once accepted, they've give you material and special tracking code links you can share on your site.

Once they do, and in accordance to your affiliation terms and conditions how commission payouts are tracked and paid.

I would always adhere to your affiliate program terms and conditions.

Welcome to WA and our community.

All in One SEO vs Yoast SEO
WP has another popular plugin named Yoast SEO. Does All in One SEO replaces yoast completely and performs all the tasks in a better way?
If not, can we use both plugins in our website? Will there be any clashes between their functionalities?

Hi - since All in One SEO recently updated, it is now very similar to Yoast, so it's personal preference really. You can only use one SEO plugin, as they will conflict with each other.

However, as you are a free starter member, you cannot add any further plugins to your website anyway.

Hi,

I'm actually following along with an existing website and have both Yoast and AIO installed there.

Before I started the course Yoast was the one enabled.

However as I was following along (and updated plugins after a while) I noticed that AIO seems to have more functionalities.

Therefore I disabled Yoast and enabled AIO.

It can be a matter of personal preference and if you have premium account for either of those (I only use free versions of those plugins).

Hope this helps.

Best of luck,
Branko

Hi @All
I have interest in providing IT training since I am myself a trainer and provide training in several programming languages. But I am not sure that I can write continuous content for that.
After watching video above, I fins baby care products and gym related products to be more productive for making money, but those 2 certainly doesn't fall in my likings, but I find them interesting.
I am from India and would like to keep Indians as target for now because reading Indian minds will be far more easy for me.
So, this is where I got stuck. What should be my niche? How to choose one to start?

Hi you'd wanting a niche a site, if IT training what would you think you would be promoting perhaps own digital products. Again baby care products are items vs a niche subject you'd perhaps wanting discuss what type of care products and what benefits and who would want to use for what purpose, who's your target audience. You're wanting narrow it down to a subcategory for starters, when site starts gaining traction, traffic and authority you may then scale You can also try https://answersocrates.com/

So your niche should be something that best resonates with you.

A niche subject is something you are passionate and genuinely interested in could be a hobby or an interest, and know so well you can write plenty original content about.

But as I said, I dont see myself really being able to write a lot of content. Regarding physical products, I havent used them then how will I be able to write about them? This is really a hard job to finalize niche, especially when i know I might not be able to write about it much.

You can read other peoples work and research however all content on site must be original written in your own words.

You can use https://Grammarly.com premium version of which would help you out with grammar and writing, an avenue for you to explore.

One of the things that I am finding is that I seem to learn more easily through the text portion of the lessons rather than the videos. I have the lessons opened in one window and my site opened in another and can swith back and forth to complete the tasks.
