OK, awesome. You now have your niche, in other words, the direction for your brand & business. That is great and don't worry about this not being "perfectly clear" at this point, as you move forward the pieces of the puzzle are going to come together.

Starting with a big piece today, your website. We are going to be taking our niche idea and turning it into a tangible business starting with your website.

Building a Website Ain't Scary, It's FUN!

Building a website sounds like a "scary" process, but fortunately you have access to the most advanced, yet simplistic website platform in the world here at Wealthy Affiliate. We pride ourselves as a technology company here at Wealthy Affiliate and we are the industry leaders in the website development space.

I am not going to toot our horn any longer, I would rather you experience the website builder and platform for itself. The first step today is going to be building your website, which will literally take you less than 30 seconds.

Click the SiteBuilder link

within the menu, and you are going to be ready to rock here (and complete the next task).

Below I have included a "Building Your Website in Under 30 Seconds" video walking you through the Website Platform (also knwn as SiteRubix) here at WA and showing you how quickly and efficiently you can build a website here at Wealthy Affiliate.

Task 1: Build Your Website

Your website is your foundation of your business. It is where all of your traffic is ultimately going to come to, where you are going to build brand and trust within the industry, and where you can promote products/services and generate $$$!

The SiteBuilder platform here at WA is the most simplistic, yet advanced in the industry. It is going to take less than 30 seconds to get a fully operational, profit ready Wordpress website up and running online.

There are 4 steps in the website build process, that I am going to walk you through here. To access the SiteBuilder and EVERYTHING related to your website, you will simply click the light blue "SiteRubix" button in the main menu.

Step 1: Choose the Kind of Website

There are really TWO options here, on a FREE website or on your OWN domain. Ideally, you will have your own domain, but that can come with time.

You can "register" your very own domains right within Wealthy Affiliate using our state of the art SiteDomains platform, which will allow you to instantly set-up your own domain for your own use.

If you are just starting out as a Starter member, you will be building a website on the .siterubix.com domain, which is a completely free website. You can build and host up to 2 FREE websites as a Starter.

As a Premium member, you can build and host up to 25 free websites and the ability to create 25 sites on your own domains (total 50 websites). That is more than adequate to drive many multi-million dollar businesses over time.

For the sake of this training, we are going to be choosing "On a free domain".

Do know that within the Premium membership, you can easily MOVE a free .siterubix.com button to a registered domain (one you may own) using the "Premium Only" MOVE feature. So by all means start off with a free website and then down the road you can move it to your own domain.

Step 2: Choose a Domain

Remember last lesson when I chose my "niche". In this step, I am going to be choosing a name for my website and placing it in the "domain name" field. This is because this will be my website URL and my brand moving forward.

As you can see below, I have added my brand "how to lose belly fat today" into the domain field.

When you type in your domain, it will let you know if it is available or not. In my case it was, but if your first choice is not available simply do another search until you find a domain name that works for you.

You cannot put spaces in your domain name, hence why my domain is "howtolosebellyfattoday".

Step 3: Choose a Website Name

The name of your website should match your domain, but it just needs to be grammatically correct (with proper spacing). You can see below my example of this:

Domain: basketballskillsanddrills.stierubix.com

Title: Basketball Skills and Drills

It is as simple as that. Don't overthink this step, your title will be the same as your domain.

Step 4: Choose a Design

The last step is choosing a "look" for your theme. As a Starter member you will have access to 12, hand picked quality designs.

As a Premium Member though you will have access to over 2,464 designs (as shown below) or your website and there are always new designs being added to this daily. These are referred to as "Themes".

Choose a design that you like.

Click on the design you like, and then you will be able to build your site.

SiteRubix, a Next Level Website and Hosting Platform.

You are going to notice that there are many other website features allocated within the SiteRubix menu. I don't want to eat up too much of your time here, but it is important that you understand the incredible benefits of the SiteRubix platform.

There you have it, the low down of the SiteRubix platform and you have your website officially up and running online. Exciting stuff!

As we move forward within the training we are going to be building out your website content, and working to get indexed and ranked in Google, Bing & Yahoo (and do so for free).

working through the keyword searches for niches and sorting out the exact url and name of the website. I have what looks like a good keyword but it is mostly a sentence without the prepositions. Jaaxy shows it has these values: avg - 242, traffic - 42, QSR - 0, SEQ - 97....I did a google search of these terms and the results showed the first 7 on the list had no meta description or meta keywords...the 8th showed up with a couple of each...but mostly on the first page there wasn't a website that had that information. How does that figure in with ranking. The 7th site had the words but they were arranged throughout the content and not arranged in a sentence.
I must be over complicating this process...and it is seeming to me that this set of words are too lofty for any small niche that I might be going for...the drill down, the individual person would get lost on the first page. Is that a proper assumption...
I should just make it point to something like miagraines or just splitting headaches...or nobody likes me fat...
This is challenging to not overthink everything.

(1) You are going to be writing content within your niche

English is not my first language, even tho I have a good grip of it... should I choose a niche/tribe who speak my first language (French)?

Or if I have a good level of English enough maybe I shouldn't close myself to a bigger audience right?

Also, I feel stressed about NOT doing BOTH trainings, the normal one and the Bootcamp. Will I miss anything by not following them both? The video says no but I can't help, it's in my personality trait to learn as much as possible in life.

Salut Damien, I recommend the Level 1 training, etc before going over to Bootcamp. Skills in the first are transferable to the second so you won't be missing out.
Regarding language, what you have written here is perfect so it's safe to go with English if you have a niche idea. If you need help, I would be willing to read drafts and comment, no problem and, you can also use the comments thread to get feedback from other people too. I hope this helps. Bon Chance! Steve C

Bonjour, Damien,

That's actually a good question. English is not my first language either, but I feel comfortable using it. I know it's not perfect, but I try to proofread everything before posting it.

I think blogs in English have a larger audience than blogs in any other language, but that's just my opinion. Before opening my website, I had been thinking if I should do it in Spanish (my first language), but I decided to do English. I might try Spanish later on.

And don't stress over not doing both your niche and the bootcamp at the same time. It's too much to handle. Believe me. Think what is more convenient for you and pick one.

Bon courage!

Damien hi, you can absolutely apply the training in WA and create a site with your native language being the main one.

I think there's a bigger audience that speak/read English than French. I am living in Montreal, Canada and french was my first language.

Forget about the bootcamp for now. On my side I dont even pay attention to it since I think writing should be about a passion first. Of course as soon as you have the knowledge and writting skills you should try the second part of this training.

Salutations,
Alvaro

On a tutorial that Jay (magicstudios) has made on January, he create a new domain name based on keywords with great value and also a lot of AVG search. When I started my website/domain more than a year ago I didn't pay attention to that. Should I? Or does keywords on my title posts and content with enough to bring people to my site? I'm a bit confused now.

My analytics are not as I want them to be. less than 200 sessions/months and 125 users/months. My domain name is bad for QSR and low in avg search. :(

Any insights ? Thanks guys...

Hi - people find your website by searching for the keywords in your content, rather than by its domain name.

I took a look at your site (as mentioned on your profile page). Your first post was January 2018, so it is coming up to 2 years old, but you have less than 40 posts on it. There are gaps of up to a month between some posts, so you won't be attracting Google's attention because you are not posting on a regular basis with any consistency.

You don't need to worry about having keywords in your domain name. An example of that is "GoDaddy" -> they sell domain names but their own domain name has absolutely nothing to do with domains.. It's just a combination of 2 totally random words.

OK thanks Dale. I though it could be relevant if someone looking for ''fitness trackers'' by example (it is my niche). I need to see why i dont have enough people to go to my website. less than 200 sessions is small I think to convert $$.

If not good for you as you feel, take time find new keyword for your domain. At least and should be related niche. Find low competition in QSR. AFTER you select new keyword, you should be happy for that. Don't forget. It should be related your niche. It is Because your content should reflect your niche.

Then transfer your old domain to your new domain. But careful, don't delete your old domain at least 1 month. Let Google know, so that will not affect your rank from old domain.

Hi - unfortunately, affiliate marketing is a long term commitment. The sooner you build your website, the better, as age plays a part as to getting your site ranked in Google. You need to follow the training step by step, and you will have built your site by the end of lesson 4. Your next step is to add lots of original content to it.

If you know anybody who may be interested in this program, you could email them your personal affiliate link and earn a commission if they go premium. You can find your link in the dollar symbol at the top of the page. Go to links and tracking.

Well, I don`t know overall to suggest; except this; you could try advertising Wealthy Affiliate on other Websites; and seeing if you can make money here; and I am not sure about making money here? But, at least if you made credits that could go towards your monthly bills for Wealthy Affiliate; it would not cost so much. You should really ask Kyle and Carson about making money quickly on here. They might have some suggestions. Just put their names into the search box above separately.

If you need to make money to fund your membership, you can do that by writing articles for other people. Try UpWork. More details: To make money from your affiliate website, it's going to take at least a few weeks or months to gain tractions. There's no "quick" way, or shortcut. If there was, everyone would be doing it.

There are TONS of writing jobs out there, and they can all be done from your computer, from anywhere in the world!

There are other models. Everything has risk of course. No guarantees. And different levels of expense required.

Anyway... you do NOT need to build an authority site to make affiliate sales. Of course not. It is only one model. The benefits are ultimately you have traffic coming in on auto pilot for free from search engines.

KEEP IN MIND... NOTHING IS EASY. AND IF YOU HAVEN'T GONE THROUGH THE TRAINING HERE YET THEN YOU WON'T BE IN A POSITION TO EVEN DO THIS STUFF.

WORST THING TO DO IS SWITCH FROM THING TO THING TO THING... ALWAYS LEADS TO "FAILURE".

With that all being said... simplest way to try to make money from affiliate marketing would be to market directly from free and paid ads to affiliate products. I have done that in the past. It works okay but nothing great.

Much better is to set up a landing page that pre-sells the visitors then leads them to the affiliate offer. And you market that landing page. You can create 25 free websites here which would be perfect for that. So you could setup 10 to 20 "campaigns" like this and let them run...just single page... landing pages.

Then just leave that stuff alone basically just forget about them and get back to work on building your authority website.

If you make an occasional sale from your landing page campaigns then great. The only reason I am sharing this is that it does at least give the opportunity to make some tiny amount of money while you are busy building your niche authority website.

I am creating an online weight reduction program with an affiliate component. It will be different than anything available now. The name of the program will be "Click and Grow Thin." I've secured the .com domain name. Affiliates would be paid 50% of the enrollment fee plus 20% of any back end up-sales.

What would an affiliate want to see in the program before they felt comfortable promoting it to their tribe? This not a commitment on your part - just a hypothetical.

What would be a reasonable price to charge? My thought is ($197) to make it super affordable for most people. Others suggested the price be $497.
Any suggestions, ideas or criticism is welcomed.
