I want to add the ability for customers to order and add to cart items advertised on my website. I am searching for a plugin that helps me create that Buy Now capability.
I
You can indeed.
Plugins and add new; find Woo, install, and activate - follow the wizard to set up. (Make sure it is compatible with your theme)
Woo comes integrated with PayPal and Stripe payment gateways
you can add woo to your site and have a menu item called shop...
but my question would be why add another level of clicking to a purchase process...
unless you can have them complete the transaction on your site then they will be taken ot the affiliate programs site to complete it....
if you are selling items yourself then that is ok...
woo is one of the easiest ways to set your site up for this and can work hand in hand with your blog...
or you can have the 'shop' as a subdomain linked to from your main site ...but it does use another website slot from your membership...

Can I add woo commerce to my wa website or do I end up creating a new website?

Hey Susan,
If the items you're selling on your website are yours to sell, then that is what the WooCoommerce plugin is used for.
However, if you are wanting to add a Buy Now button for products that you are an affiliate for, you can simply add a button using the WordPress Block Editor button option that allows you to not only select a button colour and size but also add a link to the button.
But... you're using the Classic Editor, you will need to understand HTML in order to add those.
See screen prints below...
Adding buttons will save you the need of yet another plugin.
Hope you find this helpful.
Thank you, so much, I really appreciate the time you took to help me solve this.
Yes, the items on my website are mine to sell.

Is there a way to have your website posts automatically go to your Facebook and google plus accounts? If so, I would love to know that secret. I must have missed it somewhere
You might want to look into an app, like Hootsuite, or perhaps Buffer. I do not actually use either, but I believe they are designed to achieve what you describe.
Thank you! I will look into those today.
Thank you for taking the time to help me.
Greatly appreciated!
Susan
I woke up late today after a work out. You're questions are important to me. Here is the best source I can find and I really hope it helps! https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/6259634
Thank you! I have another question or two, or five...
I will send those to you once I get them composed. My questions are not urgent, by any means.
Thank you for taking the time to help me with this!!!
I am going to feel really smart when this stuff starts to make sense to me!
Susan
I'm not invincible Susan though for you I'd like to be, but I will push hard to find answers if anything stumps me!!:))
Face book you can only share three a day without them spanking you but in groups you have more freedom I share there by copy and pasting my url addng a bit of personal when you copy and paste your url manually it pulls it in off of Google and shares the post ncely
Google plus it is best to do it manually not by sharing with a icon if you have your site registered n Google search console and Google analytics you go to your Google plus account click on the little plus sign bottom right of your screen copy and paste your url and your meta data and choose which pic you want to share by clicking the little arrws bottom left side on your post then click post and it should show up in your circles serps and your serp. Look in Jays live training create content in 7 steps he s video walks you right thru it oh and also it's best to fetch it as google too in search console
Wow! Thank you so much!!!!
I will go try that and I will watch Jay's video.
I really appreciate the fact that you took the time to answer and help me!

You can make anything happen when something else happens with "recipes". So you input your site and FB page and tell it to post to FB whenever you publish a new post. It might want an RSS feed from your site to work.

Maybe it is my theme or maybe it is just me!!!!!
I am going to try to change the plugin first.
Changing me will be much more difficult!!! :) :)
Thank you, Mike of your help!!! I really appreciate it.
Susan
I would take it in the order plugins, theme, site support, you Susan!
Interested in this journey!:)))
I don´t know exactly how your plugin is working but with mine, I have to use the ctrl+click on the share and follow options, they turn blue, I save and then they show up
Thank you for responding to my plea for help!
I will try that and see what happens. I am going to try the sumo plug in instead of the one I have been using.
Thank you, again! I appreciate your help and support.
Susan
I had done this myself and experienced the same problem. Apparently some themes just dont support this particular plugin I was using. I deleted it and dont remember which one it was. Anyways it didnt work for me. Maybe that could be the issue for you as well?
What plugin are you using? Have you checked the plugin settings to make sure it's set to show?
Thank you, Steve.
I am using a plugin called Social Plug.
I will check my settings and I think I need to check my theme. Maybe it does not support the one I selected.
Thank you, so much, for coming to my rescue!
Susan
I use Sumo. It has social sharing options, opt-in boxes for email lists, Google analytics, and a few other things - just in the free version! If you like the share buttons on my site, you should check out Sumo.
You are my hero!!!! Thank you!!!! I am going to try Sumo.
I just revisited all the editing etc. with Social Plug and still no difference.
Sumo it is!!!!
Thanks, again!
Susan
Awesome, so glad I could help! I find Sumo to be very easy to use, and it has a bunch of features that are really helpful. I tried Social Plug, too, but I had snags and it was kind of limited...
