Does anyone know if there is a way to setup a catchall email in Wealthy Affiliate?

I'm kinda disappointed that there is no catchall email ability. I have a humor related domain that people randomly send the funniest emails to, whatever@mydomain. They often CC a random name at my domain. I guess I will have to host this site somewhere else where I can do a catchall email.

There is not "catchall" option with WA like you have with some registrars. You do have unlimited email and addresses though

I am not aware of it and it is not a mail option. But it might be achievable with special characters. I think it is a question for site support. Cheers, William.

Have all your email forwarded to one email account.

Thank you, but that is not what I am trying to do.

I am trying to receive all email sent to my domain.

In other words, if someone sends an email to delie417@socialish.net, I want to get that email even though I haven't set up that email address.

I have spoken with support and they do not provide catch all email addresses.

So I have transferred the hosting back out to Godaddy, who does offer catch alls.

Thanks,
JV

Do you own socialish.net John?
If so, these instructions may help you with what you want to do: http://bit.ly/1CxoNBm

I am trying to transfer a domain from GoDaddy to WA. I got as far as WA sending a verification email, however I have not received the email.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Is there somewhere you can ask to send email again if not try repeating the process or change options for receiving notifications if possible.Good luck.

Thank you my friend!

I have received the email and the transfer is being processed.

Best,

Authoring & Writing Content
Updated

I just found a site online that is taking my content word for word and publishing it. Has anyone else had this problem and what is the proper way to deal with it?

Thanks

UPDATE:

So I contacted the guy and he agreed to rewrite his material in his own words. He claimed that my content is being copied a lot and I should "look around", because there are others.

After having a conversation with him, my passion for helping others kicked in and I ended the conversation with...

"Listen, you're not going to get anywhere with copied content. Let me know if I can help you with anything."

Glad to hear that the guy was reasonable. If you are finding other sites that have lifted your content, you can report the URL here:
https://support.google.com/legal/troubleshooter/1114905

Thank you!

Hi JV,

Yeh I had that done to me. But someone here mentioned I should have erased the content of my old site. Basically someone was using all the content from my old site I left online for a while.

I had that person's site closed down 3 times as he tried to move host every time I caught him/her.

There is a guide someone in WA of how to track those culprits down and you can require their host to remove their site completely or to remove the copied content.

Going to see if I can find that article. You can also google about how to track people stealing your site content.

Found an article that may help you out. Don't think it was the one I saw though. Regards,

John,

Thank you!

Maybe this can help

Thats a bitch !!! is it bad enough to take biz from you ? please keep us posted and yes i think they SHOULD BE NAMED AND SHAMED........who was it ? xoxoxo

Get GOOGLE on it :-))

Normally duplicated content is not ranked so stealing is pointless. I would get in touch with Google.

Nasty.....
Let's start a "WA's Copyright Thieves Name 'n Shame" site?
People put up the site that copied them and link to their own copied stuff. Then promote it like crazy and if it goes viral - people might stop doing it. If it's happening to folks here then it's happening to millions more out there too.

Using lawyers costs money and just because copyright protection was invented for the Big Boys (regardless of how sanctimonious they want to be about stealing some starving songwriter's bread, it was 'cos they can afford to sue us but we can't afford to sue anyone) doesn't mean we can't use the idea behind their big bucks to protect our own inalienable copyright. ...Just a thought.

Problem with this, is that they will get link juice from that and I'm not willing to help them by promoting them anywhere.

Just a thought.....
They juice they'll get is already plagiarised juice - and just whining about a problem never helps anyone.

Good catch

Yes. I've had my pictures stolen and one whole article copied and then the site owner changed a few words here and there. This was on two different sites in two different niches. It drove me nuts. For the site that stole my article, I submitted a complaint to Google with the link and it was taken down. That took about 2 weeks. As for the pictures, I contacted the owner of the site and their hosting company. The hosting company took no action and the owner took down 2 of the 6 picture they stole from me. After several more attempts to get the pictures taken down, I finally gave up. After that, I added my domain name on all my photos. Sometimes it's worth the fight--sometimes it's not. If it's content, I'd file with Google. Alanna

hey honey, what do you mean you added your domain name to the pics? can you enlighten me please :--))

I use Photoshop. I open the image and add a text box and add my domain name in it. I also try to position it so that you can't crop it out. You can also make it gray and put it in the background. That way it looks more like a watermark. If you don't have Photoshop, you can try it in Paint or Gimp. Let me know if you need help with this.

can you PM me a sample that you did please oxoxox

Unfortunately, yes, and the situation is tricky. Although legally copyright belongs to you, unless you're willing to shell out big bucks for a lawyer, its very hard to protect your legal rights. But you can do a couple things even so.

First, take a screenshot that shows the date, time, location, etc. of the plagiarism so that you have it as proof. Then, find out who the thief works for, if applicable. Report on them to their boss, including your proof. Also report them to the Wordpress or other blogger system, as well as to their web host if you can get that information.

Once you've done all that, email the offender directly and let them know you know they stole from you. Try to remain unemotional, and simply inform them that, per copyright law, they have two choices. They have 48 hours to either remove the content, or they will be required to pay you whatever amount you would charge for writing that content for them. Specify the amount in the email, and set it high. It's quite likely that you will not hear back from them, but that they will remove the content.

If neither occurs, take another dated screenshot of the offending content. Then get an attorney to write a nasty, official Take Down letter for you, including a specific deadline for removing the content, and the legal penalties for copyright infringement. In most cases this is enough.

If the latter doesn't work, though, this is when you'll need to evaluate if you want to commit to hiring an attorney and taking them to court. Hopefully it doesn't get to that stage. Most people will do the right thing when confronted with the fact of their crime.

Thanks for the detailed reply!

Happy to help. Wishing you the best with this tricky situation!

As far as I know, they should include the source (meaning you). And that will have your website included or your FB page, etc.

Still would need your permission.

Can I use the The Site Comments platform on a website that is not hosted at WA?

I didn't think you could.
Ed

No, but there is also a give and take thread for site comments within WA which is for both hosted and non hosted sites.

Thank you. That kinda stinks. Is there a suggestion box here somewhere for Kyle and Carson?

No!! You can PM them though.

I presume it's because the site comments platform uses the same system as the hosting so that's the connection, and why it can't bring in outside sites.

No, you can't.
