I Get No Help from My Sponsor

Anyone in my WA fan following base who truly knows me knows how positive and giving of a person I am and how I’ve always been committed to helping others in the community.

I love to help others here unconditionally and I make it my business to answer EVERY question and comment to the best of my ability.

Two fabulous posts over the past few days written by awesome members Lee Ann and Debs inspired my thinking about this.

Where Did My Mentor Go?

Who Referred Me to Wealthy Affiliate?

Heck, I hate to write even one negative post Ladies and Gents, but even I occasionally have to get things off my chest.

So here is one of my rare rants.

The truth is I Get No Help from My Sponsor.

Never have in the 20 months that I've been here as a premium member of WA. And I don't expect I ever will. Despite reaching out to them many times with a variety of questions under all different types of circumstances.

Yet they continue to make a recurring income off me. Constantly. $175 per year guaranteed, as I am their referral and am on the yearly premium plan.

Mentoring

Mentoring.

To be clear, that is supposedly the role of the person who I signed up to WA through their affiliate link, or the person whose link from their website led me to the opt-in page of WA.

Technically, that person is my mentor.

In other words, my sponsor is my mentor.

Except it doesn't always quite work out that way.

Some have been lucky here, unfortunately I was not.

And I was a rare catch indeed, as I signed up as a premium member practically immediately after clicking on their link. In other words, after reading all the background info on WA, I joined directly to premium and never looked back, without ever becoming a free member.

I will not name the person who is my sponsor, I refuse to disrespect anyone on this platform regardless of how often my questions and comments have been ignored. I'm sure they know who they are.

All I will say is that they are a high ranking member, they are NOT Kyle or Carson, who to their great credit have always been as prompt as possible to answer my questions and address my concerns.

Regretfully, not one time in 20 months has "my mentor" ever answered any question I've asked them in a PM, nor have they ever responded to any of my comments I've made on their posts or trainings, all phrased respectfully, whether it was a question or a comment.

And there were many important questions I needed answers to from the beginning and still into the present.

Learn to be Self-Sufficient

But I guess I did alright anyway, I learned to be very self-sufficient on the platform, by asking a wide variety of questions to GREAT members of the WA community. Both my followers and non-followers.

I learned to find out who were those "go to" specialists "in-the-know" very early on, and sought out those members. Whenever I had a question about the training, I knew exactly where to go.

Therefore, I suppose you can say in a way you ALL are my mentors, as your feedback and engagement speak volumes, and I get volumes more helpful attention and information from EVERY ONE of you in one day, more than my actual referrer has ever given me during my full tenure here.

I refuse to follow the lead of my referrer.

You can bet your bottom dollar as long as I am here I will always help this community. And if I don’t know the answer, I will do my best to send you to someone who does.

That said, no regrets whatsoever.

Everything turned out pretty well for me.

And to All My Referrals…..

You can ask me ANYTHING at any time, and you will always get an answer pronto from me.

Please NEVER hesitate to reach out to me and ask me ANYTHING related to online business and your journey here at Wealthy Affiliate.

Feel free to reach out to me via PM, or ask a question or make a comment on any of my combined 450+ WA posts, questions, and trainings

Rant over. Thanks for listening.

Back to positive and more productive endeavors, my friends.

Cheers,

Kaju

Hi Kaju, I just went down your HUGE memory lane and found at the bottom your sponsor, and to be honest, I am not even a little surprised.

My sponsor is not the most social one on my training and blogs, but when I really need help, he's always there to help and guide me.

Haha! It would take someone only truly as resourceful as yourself Loes, to find that culprit on the bottom of the barrel!

Certainly no surprise, we both agree!

Thanks Loes, I can honestly say that you have always been a great surrogate mentor for me:))

Thank you, but as long as there are idiots like me who do support people here for free, they can skip their responsibilities.

You are NOT an idiot, and there ARE so many people like ME who greatly appreciate your vast service to this community:))

They skip their responsibilities because they believe they are above it.

So I was curious. Did the same thing as Loes. Definitely a long trip down memory lane of 2 years worth of comments! And OUCH! I am surprised. Would not have expected this.

My curiosity got the better of me as well. :-)

It's like opening that crackerjack box, isn't it KIm!

Love it! This is turning into a fun adventure of "finding our mentors"!

I know exactly what you mean Kaju, the person I signed up with only answered one question I had when I first joined. I asked a second and third question and never received a response.

My opinion is if you promise to help a person if they sign up under you, then you ignore them after they sign up, then it's no different from the other scams out there.

I know for a fact that WA is not a scam but to someone who has never heard of it will perceive this company as being a scam just like the other ones.

I'm paying this person every month for doing nothing but write an article. But it's all good cause I'm a self-reliant man, but it would be a little easier having a person with their experience giving some advice. Life goes on Brother!

Dead on, Florencio 100%!
Thanks for acknowledging this.

Unfortunately some only want the commission, and don't want to work for it, or they feel they are too important and above helping.
What a pity!

Thank Goodness I have always been self-reliant and strong:)

I want to invite (make referrals) my friend s at LinkedIn.com to join WA how can I do that through my Wealthy Affiliate page?

You really can't my friend, that would be considered spamming and against the WA rules. If they signup organically through one of your blog posts you write with your affiliate link attached, then that's your referral.

Here are the rules of WA J, hope this helps you understand what is acceptable and what is not:

If they are your friends why not send them your affiliate link via your email?

Can you explain the process of how JK would include an affiliate link in his email, Jackie? Thanks:)

Hey Kaju,

Wouldn't cut and paste work?
I heard people getting banned from G+ for posting affiliate links - isn't it the same process for emails?

I've not done this before but I don't see any reason why it can't be done especially if you'll be sending the links to friends.

Yeah, it makes sense Jackie, even though I've never done it through an email before either.

Where would you paste the affiliate link? Would you paste it in the subject heading or within the body of the email?

Does it even matter where you paste it, for the affiliate link to "take" and where you'd be assured of getting the proper credit?

The term "the money is in the list" refers to this - Email Marketing.
No, paste it in the body of your email - make it natural within your content as you would do within your blog post.

NB However, if you have spoken to a friend about WA and they are interested and you want credit for referring them, just send them your affiliate link via email - no need to worry about writing a blog post or a email campaign - this is what I was alluding to with Jack.

Let me know if this helps.

All the best!

Do you think its easier and more effective sending an affiliate link through an email, or would it be easier and more effective sharing a post with your friend that contains your affiliate link?

Which would more likely lead to a referral?

I sharing a post with my friends that contains my affiliate link.I want to do this on LinkedIn.

I only share the link with friends who show an interest in WA - they don't need to see a post.

The posts are for my "organic" friends

It's difficult to say which one will likely lead to a referral .. maybe you can do some split testing.

If LinkedIn allows you to share affiliate links then by all means do it, however, I know that G+ ban the sharing of Affiliate Links.

So to be safe, the best way to do this in LinkedIn is to share a post with your affiliate link.

This is such a shame because if you are going to refer people to this community you should have some level of passion towards why your doing it.

Even if you can't help with the actual question you should help with finding ways to find the answer.

Absolutely Diane, if you don't have an answer, try to send the person to someone you know has the answer. That's what I always try to do.

Thanks for your supportive comments, I really appreciate them:)

Hey,

I totally get what you are saying you would think when you sign up under someone if they had questions they would answer you back.

I have learned in my short 29years of life that not everyone is so caring and giving you know?

Like with my situation i got a message when I first started. I never answered back don’t know why since it was about 4 years ago when I first signed up. But have only been premium not that full 4 years.

I just went through the training and to be honest I basically forgot about who my sponsor even was since I did take a a long period off from WA.

As time went on I checked my old messages I was like oh now I know who it is hah. I just never asked any questions since for some reason life works in good and mysterious ways that.

When I needed some help I either found it in the search bar at WA. Or I seen a blog post talking about the topic I needed help on bing also helped.

It’s sucks to hear that happens to you. It is good to know the ones who sign up under you will be in good hands with help. Plus this wonderful community to help also.

I know me I would help as much as I can. That is the way I am I get joy out of helping others. I hope all is well and you have a good message here thanks for the share

Matt

I personally love helping others, and the help itself is its own reward. Unfortunately, there are people who place too much self-importance upon themselves and have massive egos.

But that's okay Matt, we learn to be self-sufficient and seek out our own path. We are fortunate to have a wonderful community here.

Thanks my friend, feel free to reach out to me at anytime:)

Kaju

I totally agree me personally I am not mad at nobody because I have no reason to be. I have been raised at a young age to learn and teach myself when I get stuck. So I am fine that my sponsor wasn't there no biggie.

I have learned through the training outside WA and inside WA. a piece of advice to anybody seeing this comment, if you get stuck and nobody has replied to your blog post on here or in the live chat. That search bar at the top of your screen can be your best friend. Search the topic you want and you will find other blog posts and training on it.

the only thing I don't like can't say anybody is doing this here but just in general with any program. Is that if you say you will help that person and hold their hand step by step and answer questions that person asked. then you should uphold that promise.Other wise don't mention that you will help them you know?

It is always good to have a mentor though luckily outside of WA I do have one whenever I need to bounce an idea off of them. I hope the best for everyone and remember keep positive help whenever you can work on your business and love life you will get there when it is time.

Keep doing a great job, and being YOU Matt:))

Hi Kaju. You have every right to rant. You have answered any question I have asked you and even some I didn't. My sponsor has not contacted me since my first weeks of joining either. I think it's disappointing for a lot of newbies I'm particular not to hear anything from their sponsor once they go premium. I have just started the bootcamp side of WA and I'm determined to stay in contact with any referrals. Even those that don't go premium. You never know, your support in the early days might just increase your conversion ratio. Jim

Thanks Jim, it's also disappointing for some "oldbies" like me, I can imagine how alienated a newbie may feel.

Good on you to stay in contact with your referrals, Jim!
You are right, you never know. But good help should not have conditions attached to it:)

Hi Kaju,

Good post! You make a lot of great points.

It's beyond me to even understand why you wouldn't get even one reply.

I mean if they don't want to be a mentor just tell you! Right?

I, like you, will always help my people and anybody else here who needs help. I'm happy to help anyone.

I know you do everything you can to help people. Keep up the great work and awesome post my friend!

- Glen B

Thank You Glen, I really appreciate that and agree. I always do my best, as you do your best.

Pity, but I suppose this was meant to be bestowed on someone with a tough skin who is independent and resilient. I take pride in that.

Thanks again, and reach out to me anytime on my posts or via PM.

Kaju

Hi, Kaju,

I am sorry to hear your referrer has been no help. Like you said you are self sufficient. Which is good. I hope that person reads your post.

I can honestly say Pribs been my sponsor and mentor. Has never let me down. I didn't message him for nearly year as I have all the help here. Pribs got back to me almost immediately. Which makes me feel even more secure. I can turn to him when I want to.

Thank you for sharing my post also Kaju. :)))

Yes I have to say its rare you have a rant but you have good reason to this time.

You are doing brilliantly anyways without your sponsor.

I envy you Debs, that Pribs has never let you down. You are very fortunate but I am also very happy for you.

Thank You always for your loyal and sincere support, my friend:)
Reach out to me anytime:)

K

You are one of our top helpers you are there in the Help centre. So seems you have done so well without a mentor. Your brilliant anyways but shame on your mentor.

Thank goodness you are a good mentor and ambassador to all of us. You too are loyal and sincere Kaju, Its great to work alongside you :)

Debs :)

You are are MY A-Team anyday, everyday Debs:)
Thank You, it's an honor:)

Kaju,

So sorry to hear of your predicament,

You are among a select few extremely talented and well accomplished WA members who do offer so much to the entire global WA community out of a sincere, pure spirit of giving, helping and assisting which is a great example of living your Christian faith by your deeds.

Your posts are some of the most followed, commented on and loaded up with info, knowledge, sources, great pictures and first hand accounts which take any WA to one of the most vibrant urban setting, New York City.

Your resilience and resulting self sufficiency are truly remarkable and you have prospered in spite of lack of that mentorship.

May God continue to bless all of your undertakings and may your love for your fellow WA members be rewarded tenfold.

Amen!

I am truly honored by your kind words, generosity, and love of your community

Thank You Gabriel my friend, and may God Bless You:)

Kaju

I am truly sorry that you are not receiving an have not received any support from your mentor. I am happy to see that you're still here and I enjoyed reading your posts. I am personally grateful for your input and inspired by the fact that you do not allow a lack of support from your sponsor keep you from being a productive part of this community. Thank you want again, And I look forward to interacting with you more.

I appreciate that, and I look forward to interacting with you more as well.

Kindly reach out to me whenever you feel the need:)
