About JamesJ

Hello all- and thanks for visiting my page.

My name is James and I live in Utah, North America. I love the beautiful mountains and dessert here, and very much enjoy recreating outside, especially skiing and mountain biking.

Recently I have been running a painting business, and before that worked in restaurants and bars for many years. I studied photography in college, and hope to one day have the time (and money) to be able to pursue endeavors in that field. But right now I reckon I'm within the "starving artist" group, haha :-P

I have been learning about IM for several years now and I suppose my tendency is to be over analytical and try to research everything too much. My goal now (for 2014) is to take action and to attain some success. I found WA after a search for something legitimate that I can do on my own time, and be in business for myself. After encountering way too many scams and bogus trial offers, I discovered several very positive reviews on WA, and here I am.

Cheers to Success!

I think if you don't articulate a goal you are less likely to motivate youself to achieve. I know that is true for me. I am constantly making goal lists and evaluating my journey so far.

Good luck James. Hope we are both on a path to success.

Sincerely, Anne

I roger that, James.

Sensor & sensor sizes, is this (outside of the optics) what determines the camera / photo quality?
And what about endurance?

I'll be back into http://digislrs.com later.
Rock on
Reply
JamesJ Premium
Hey Jim! thx for checkin it out, and yes the image sensor is a major determining factor of image quality (within the camera at least)
Lenses are a major player too-- to speak very generally

/Not sure what you mean by endurance?

A larger sensor allows for larger pixels *on* the sensor itself to allow for a higher capability of capturing light.
Have a good one--
Reply
JimintheWeb Premium
Yea, on the "endurance" thing; what I've seen & what I've been told (without doing my own research -of dumb course) is that the photos after the camera is used over a period of time & has taken a set number of photos, the quality of the photos deteriorates & even becomes grainy.
Such as with the pre-digital era of photo development, there was the transference of ions such as silver so to create the image upon the "photographic paper" via the chemically developed "negative".
Today, I was under the impression that electrons have replaced the chemical developer & ionic (silver) exchange. That todays' digital cameras utilize the electrons from the battery so to create the image. And pixel rating is simply an indicator / a definition of the electron packing density / the quality of the electronic image.
"Endurance" then being the time before disobedience of the digital camera's electrons & metal transference within the camera's circut(s) {& image sensor?} Like the electronic "points" that used to be used with an automobile engine. The metal quality & gap & the capacitor were all determinate factors with that system.
I can see this is gonna take some looking into, so I'll have to stop by http://digislrs.com at a later date & strike up a conversation with ya.

Till then

Hey Jim-- thank you kindly for your comments, and interesting observations. You seem like a very smart guy! As this is the *perfect* conversation for digislrs.com, I would absolutely LOVE to transfer the conversation there if you don't mind, as I am lacking on user engagement and comments. Would you please copy and paste your first comment (starting with 'I roger that James' into the comments section of the sensor size post? It is:
http://digislrs.com/digital-camera-sensor-sizes-compared-different-sensor-sizes-and-what-it-means-for-your-image-quality

I can then paste in my comment, then you can paste in this most recent comment, and I will reply to it there on digislrs.com, if you don't mind :)
I would consider it a favor, and would be absolutely willing and able to comment on any of your sites, or return the favor in some other way.
Thank you very much/ Cheers

Yes it is hard to constantly keep the writing going, but I've found that having two or three blog post titles ready ahead of time makes it *much* easier to keep the momentum going.

I'm excited to see your new material for your site :)
I'm also trying to catch up on my content and keep it to at least a post a week--

Congrats on your new camera, and hopefully you've been able to get out and get some shooting in/ it's definitely something I truly love.

I like the summers but not so much the winters. When it gets below 40% I am not happy. I love all the camping and ATVing in Utah
Reply
JamesJ Premium
I'm just the opposite, haha-- Winter is my favorite, with summer being my least favorite. I don't necessarily thrive in the heat, although dry heat is much better than humid heat. I love this time of year when we get a break from the heat, and storms coming through to keep the air relatively clean--
Plenty of great places to go pitch a tent too for sure!
Hope you're having a good weekend
Reply

This is my favorite time of year as well It is not to hot or to cold. Year around weather for sure. I am getting to old to sleep in a tent I am in the 5th wheel era now. Seems like we always have some grandkids to take along and we have always had good times camping and ATVing. Try to make it to Moab twice a year.
Have a very productive week.
