nice post

Looks like the others have got your back. ;-)

Yes Thanks :):):)

Its not that difficult....you give the ad a name.....like where its located...like I usually say ad on bottom right hand sidebar. Then I just create the code and copy and paste into a text widget and place the ad in the area I designated.
Adsense was acting up recently for me, and I haven't added a new one lately, so that may be the problem as well.

Okay I am trying to understand that, not to sure I got the widgets down yet I have spent more time learning how to operate the website than I have building my business but I know this is going to help in the long run cause I plan on having several websites

When you go to widgets, select the one that says text. Then select if you want to add to side bar or in your footer. One will appear at the bottom of your sidebar, or in your footer....just click the little arrow to open the box....and then paste and save the code in the text
box...don't worry about all the other things in this box until you understand how it works better. It should show a cream colored box when you save it and then it take a bit for the ad to show up.

I have added affiliate links and been thru the training not sure what I am doing different but when I click on my links I get this page that says somewhat embarrassing isn't i

It seems you have already got a answer, but it is just that there are some added text in the link. I ran into that problem a while back. Just get the short link version and your problem will be solved.

Looks like the others have got you covered on this one ok.

Click the short link version.

thanks

I've had a look at the problem Heath. It seems that the link you have pasted is the wrong one. I am assuming that it is supposed to open a frame within your page to display the amazon link.
When I remove the frame part of the URL, it just goes to a blank amazon page but still doesn't link to the product you have selected.

My suggestion is to recopy the links and insert them as instructed by Amazon. But it needs to be VERBATIM. do not omit the smallest dot or tiddle.

л

Thank You

Hi Heath, I tried your link and I see what you mean.

It appears that you are linking to programming 'script' rather than your page.

What I tend to do is:

1. Highlight the wording that you want to create a link for
2. Click on the paperclip looking button
3. If you do not see your other posts and pages in the window that opens click on 'Or link to existing content'.
4. Click on the page you want to link to and also click 'Open link in a new window/tab'.
5. Finally click on 'Add Link'.

Save your post and everything should work perfectly.

If not there could be a problem with your theme so you may need to put in a 'support ticket' for technical help.

Let me know if this solves your problem.
Lis.

I have tried it over and over guess I put in a support ticket cause it worked two days ago when I added my first links thanks for helping

I am wondering if there is a problem with the WA system because someone else has got a similar problem. Their links are not opening to new web pages.

Ask the tech team on your support ticket.
Lis.

I just did thank you so much this has given me a migraine think I am going to walk away for the night and just breathe

I don't blame you. When technology goes wrong it is a pain.

All the best.
Lis :).

this is the point were I could just give up nothing with amazon is working and when it does it links to my account just don't know I put so much work into those reviews and not to be able to ad product uuuggghhh

Hang in there mate. Attack this with a fresh mind the next day.. It will be something simple and you will pick up on it :)

It sounds like the problem lies with Amazon and not with your site or WA.

Isn't anyone going to help her??? Or should I bail out now???

It's a HE not a SHE and I'm not sure what you are bailing out of?
It takes time for people to reply. Eventually someone will. Failing the questions part one can also go for the chat.

I am not sure if I missed something or not but I see others who have product on there's at this stage.

When you do, don't have no more than 3 links on your page.

Thanks

I would use the concept of only 1 link per 500 words. Some posts and pages should have no links to products but links to other posts within the site.

It's your site. You can do what you want. Google doesn't like external links on the home page, but that could change tomorrow so you can't put too much weight on that. Do what feels right to you.

Thank You

I am not sure. I have links on my post but I also feel the links offer value and they are Free so I didn't see the problem. I never heard not to put links. Maybe I am confused as well... Sorry I can't help more. My site is http://alandraknowsmarketing.com

You don't have to apologize.... I have gotten some good answers you might care to read Thanks for helping

Your site is thorough ......you will get there if you still have that question....step by step..

Thanks

Hi heaths4tune. Yes Christabelle is right about it. Keep going step by step

Thanks

Many people jump ahead instead of following the training as Kyle has laid it out, and I have read many post of people who have come to regret that!
I have read post of some who after they recognized they should have stayed the course they end up undoing a lot of things on their site or even starting over altogether!
So in the end they discover that had they stayed the course as laid out they would have been better off and would have achieved success sooner!

Thank you, was not sure if I missed a step

In order for one to need affiliate links with products, you need to be getting traffic. So, to get that traffic, you need to be writing quality content with good keywords.

After you have installed Google Analytics, you can watch it to see what kind of traffic you are getting. Once you notice you are getting some visitors, it makes sense to have products on your site. :)

Thanks so much!!!!!

You don't really learn the money part until level 3 the fact some have added them earlier is just them trying something different. Continue on the levels as laid out for you and you will build the blocks in the correct order.

Thank You For Helping

so wrapped up in building my site should I be training in the affiliate program at the same time?

The thing about having two sites is having a back-up as well. A place to implement changes before you take them live to your affiliate site.... Just a thought.

Yes, good idea. You can just use WA as a test environment for certain websites.

thanks buddy!!!!!!

Heath, build your site as instructed, but build it towards being an affiliate site. Keep your first site on SiteRubix, using it as a practice model, then when you are ready to go public, re-do your site, or transfer that site (if you are completely happy with it) to the Public Domain with your own Domain Name and URL for your site.
If you build a practice site, then your real site can be completed and uploaded in it's finished state, with all of the embarrassing errors omitted.

little late for that I already transferred my site but I will keep in mind to not throw it out there to fast......Thank You Very Much....for the insight !!!!

I recommend doing both, that way you can learn by action.

well at the moment building this site is consuming most the free time I have but I agree as soon as I can I am gonna do both....Thanks for the input!!!!!

Your welcome :-)

Someone asked the same question earlier. I had one site up and running and a good rating in Google before I started Boot camp and the WA webiste. Now I have a weekly schedule where I add content to both. Your decision, however, do not get overwhelmed. Good luck.

Thanks a lot

Only do as much as you can it is your business.
Build it in your time. Do what you can.

thanks

Doba claims to be one of the top guys just checking what u guys may know

Doba will have long lead times for some products. They do not stock items, they get them as you send in your order. Go strait to vendors and get better deal and service.

Chris,
Thanks for the insight.... a real eye opener..... Thank You

Beware of companies like www.Doba.com and wholesale2b.com
that appear to be manufacturers, but are actually middle-men
companies, also known as big box wholesalers.
Avoid these like the plague!
Why? Because they are not the actual manufacturers of the products
they sell. They are simply big wholesale companies trying to be seen
and used as suppliers by e-commerce store owners.
If any prospective supplier wants you to pay a monthly fee to retail
their products, RUN – do not walk – the other way, as it’s a sure
sign they are middle-men in manufacturer’s clothing.
Remember, if they were legit manufacturers, they would be making
margins on the products, not on monthly fees.

Selling the products of a drop shipper is one way to make money, but make your deals with the manufacturer. If you have a good site with plenty of traffic, they will be happy to work with you.

From what Iʻve looked into this, there is a lot of work processing sales and limited profit. A good splash page that continues to produce sales can create a form of recurring income, but you still have to be on top of orders and process any order that comes in within 24 hrs.

That doesnʻt give me the kind of time freedom Iʻm looking for.

Bill,
Wow you just taught me so much that I will be reading your answer a few times make sure I don't miss anything....I tip my hat to you sir....Thanks

Hi. This was left for you in Chat so I copied and pasted it before it got lost.
"Lpriest
@heaths4tune I had the Doba drop shipping plan. Conceptually it looks pretty good. you can transfer strait to your amazon store, Ebay etc. The problem is that you cannot compete on prices. Check it for yourself. Look up a product on Doba while taking the free look. You will find the same product on ebay or Amazon and the rest of the retail platform for less than you can buy them from doba. I paid my 300+ initially. A year later I got notified that My card would be auto billed for 800 +. Then there is the merchant account you pay 50-80 a month if you qualify. The reason you can't compete is that the sellers who buy ib bulk can undercut you all day on every product. It takes a lot of cash to buy bulk"

Rick,
Thank you very much for that I will go thank him and taking the time to do that just blows me away once again Thanks Friend
