Hi Graham,
Your question did not get sent to Carson in a private message. Instead, you posted it in a classroom. Thought I should let you know rather than ignore you.
When trying to reach Carson (or Kyle, for that matter) in a private message, be sure that the option you select offers you a form that is clearly titled "Contact Kyle or Carson" else you will be posting your question in another classroom.
Hope this helps you.
I was wondering what everyone else does. Do you fill in the SEO description or do you leave it blank for All in One SEO to populate?
You should write your own meta description. But not for SEO reasons, as the description isn't taken into account by Google.
The reason to do it is to grab the readers attention.
By default G will usually display the first couple of lines of text on the page. But that often doesn't tell people, succinctly, whats on the page & why they should read it.
Of course, sometimes G ignores it - but much better to do it than not, especially if you aren't in 1st place on SERPs and want to attract eyeballs.
Excellent thanks for clearing that up I will start filling mine in again to catch their attention. Thanks for your help :)
Yeah I did before but I have started to leave them blank on my new pages just wanted to see how different the rankings would be

I have been trying to utilise Flipboard off the social links on my website but I keep getting an error message? Any ideas? I must be doing something wrong but not sure what. I
Can you give me the error message and some more info one what exactly is happening? Maybe some screen shots. I might be able to point you in the right direction.
Hi thanks, it just says loading for a while and then I get this message. It doesnt matter what page I do it on as its the same for every page ive checked so far on my site.
So two things. It looks like your doing this on your phone. Have you tried sharing something from another site? Some times things on mobile don't work right, and just want to make sure that's not the problem.
Second, have you tested your pages to see how they appear when shared on social media accounts? You can see what they'll look like when shared using these tools.
https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/
https://search.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool
https://cards-dev.twitter.com/validator
Try the Facebook one and see if that comes up with an error. I don't know this for sure, but it's possible that if you don't have the social media tags Flipboard won't show your pages.

I saw weeks ago a post recommending some good software to use to create images for your site. I thought I had bookmarked it but guess not.
Thanks in advance
Grah
I use Canva or Photoshop. Canva is free Photoshop is not, lol. I have seen a lot of people on here using Gimp, which is free. I haven't tried Gimp but many like it :)
I use Youzign...You can create any kind of graphic you will need with this tool...It is a tool I use almost daily...
Just $.02 on Canva, it looks like really good software, but read the terms really closely before you use their images.
Two open source programs I use for image editing are Gimp and Inkscape.
Excellent ill try Gimp and inkscape too. Looking forward to giving all these a test drive :) thanks Numerous
Canva is my favorite blogging tool. I use it for every image on every post. You can easily include one or more CC0 images (there are a lot of sites where you can find free images to upload), you can resize images, add text, and add backgrounds. It's a great free tool and it's easy to use.
Brilliant thanks Ive been struggling with this. As i like putting my own together but not found a good software until now, thanks :)
