Tribulations and Afflictions of An Unlucky WA Member

I feel like challenging my good fate really by referring to myself as unlucky, but with the turn of events of the last few days I cannot help but thinking that somewhat I have been hit by an 'unlucky' professional spell relating to my online entrepreneurial career.

As you may know, lately I have concentrated on producing more content for my websites and on progressing with Bootcamp as well as on other tutorial, in an effort to really boost up my business. And my efforts are starting paying off, with regular Amazon commissions coming my way, as well as the odd WA and Jaaxy referrals here and there.

I was really looking forward to this week as I am on annual leave from my 9-5 day job. I had made so many plans to invest my stay-at-home time to do yet more writing and more learning.

Yet, a figurative lightening was to strike my flow!!

To start off with, on Saturday we were left with no internet signal for the whole day. I blamed the snowy weather of last week, which affected infrastructures in UK in so many ways.

Sunday I then started feeling really tired. I was coming down with a bout of flu. I did try to do some online work, but with much difficulty.

Finally, today I felt really well. I felt I had plenty of energy and willingness to work. And I did. Within 2 hours I started and finished a post for one of my websites, and I caught up with my emails. I just about started inserting pictures on my post on SiteContent, when my laptop died, and kept telling me there was an error and I needed to reboot it.

I took it to a local repair shop, where they advised my hardware was completely gone.

Moral of the story? Well, there are some positives to all this, as much as negatives.

Some time ago I wrote how much harder our job of home based entrepreneur becomes when we loose wifi or internet connection. Best thing is to then try to use public facilities, like your local coffee shop or the local library.

It gets even harder if you are unwell or under the weather. You really have to appeal to your sense of perseverance, in order to try and do some work, even if not as much as planned. The fact that you can still do some work while being at home to me represents an advantage. When working for an employer, chances are you are not allowed to take time off when you feel under the weather. At least, when you are home based, you can still be productive, but you can pace yourself at your own speed in the comfort of your home, without having a boss 'breathing down your neck'.

However, when your equipment, your so much precious and valuable equipment, starts failing, now that is a big problem. My luck is that for the time being, while waiting to hear from the repair shop as to whether my laptop is worth fixing or beyond repair, I can use my son's laptop - but only when he doesn't need it. At the moment I am working on my ipad, but we all know the limitations of working on a tablet from word processing point of view.

I suppose the other lucky aspect, as far as I am concerned, is that it all happened this week that I was at home, and I had time and patience to deal with it all.

To those that enter this business hoping for an easy ride, please abandon ship now, as this is not for you. But I guess, with patience, perseverance and commitment, the fruits you will ripen will be the ultimate success of a prosperous business.

Wishing you all better luck with the rest of the week!!!

Hello, Giulia.

Life certainly has a way of "getting in the way" when we are trying to do something important to us. I know the feeling well, as I just went through a period when my wife's computer broke down, and I had to loan her mine until we could get it repaired (she has a regular job where she works from home).

However, I like your steadfast attitude about it all.Sure...it's a pain in the nether-regions, and it disrupts our progress, but it's also a storm that we can persevere through.

Like you stated, it's a good thing that you were home during this period. That's a plus.

I wish you well and continued success,

Joshua

A good share of experience and learning. I though believe that being lucky is not what we are here. It is the working relationship between "cause and effect" that makes us successful. If I did the wrong thing it will result in the wrong one. If I did the right thing it will surely bear fruit that is in line with the expectation.

This is what I am trying to see and hear from the experts. The direct instructions on "don't do this, this is the proper one."

Do I make a sense, Ginlia?

I get what you mean, Jimmy. And that's what frustrates me, in a way. Because I don't think I did anything blatantly wrong to cause my laptop hard drive to disappear. But hey ho, onward and upward!

I hope you can imagine a big smile from me. It's not what you did that caused the malfunction of your laptop but it's a defect on the hardware.
Don't you know that I am using a Jurassic R460-LG which I bought second hand and just last week when I was working it voluntarily boots with a blue screen, meaning there is already a problem with the hardware and not on the software. So I am worried but I tried to fix it and is working now.

Giulia, I'm so sorry to learn of your run of bad luck. So much misfortune at one time is not easy to deal with.

I do hope your health improves quickly, and that you computer problems are soon resolved.

You do have a great attitude which is a help, but a turnaround to good fortune is what you need.

With best wishes :)

I've hit my proverbial Three lots of 'bad luck', Valerie. I should like to think that there is now only one way: up!

Giulia, sometime our faith are tested in the most integranizing way.

I can say that mines has been tested as well, some of the same

Things have happen or presented itself in my path. I must say, that there is hope in all of this. But we must remember to remain humble and hold onto your integrity.

Not all of the time a dissapointment is a curse or considered bad luck. just look at how much you have accomplished, so be gracious to all the little things.

For the first month of the Swag, I had to use my andriod to work with because by system failed to function. There were one thing after another one presented itself in my path.

Perservance had it's moments.

Every disappointment brings a great blessings!

Blessing to you!

Yes, I was annoyed, but really keeping annoyed does not get you that far, does it. But I am so fully aware of how lucky I am to have got so far. Call me greedy, but I don't want any of this to stop, and I shall not let a few glitches along the way to get in the way to, hopefully, success :)

Go with a positive mind and outlook!

You're do just fine!

blessing!

It really sucks, Giulia, when you make plans to get so much accomplished, only to have obstacles get in the way of progress. But, whatever the situation, remember that it's only temporary.

I had a glitch in my plans as well recently: You are definitely not alone!

Awww Veronica, I have just read about your 'monster' man. Dreadful!!! It just enrages me how people have to try conning others to make money - I call that sheer dishonesty.
I still don't know if mine was a scam. I thought it was more a virus, but I haven't had my theory confirmed either way.
Good luck with getting another computer, or your previous one fixed :)

Hi Giulia
It looks like a few of us had internet and hardware problems this past month! My internet seems to become more stable again, for which I am tremedously grateful.
Hope your problems get sorted soon!
(And please give a hug, a kiss and a whisper to Indy on my behalf!) :-)
"Onwards and Upwards!"
Sharlee (Chocolate IceCream)

Oooh yes, my fluffy big boy lends me a sturdy paw in my 'afflictions' :)

I'm sorry to hear about your turn of bad luck, but as you said, at least it happened when you had the time off and the patience to work with it.

There are many things that can happen in life and any of them can derail you when you work from home, but there aren't many jobs out there where you have the flexibility to deal with them.

I hope your week improves!

Anita

And to be honest, Anita, nothing for me beats that!!!

Hi Giulia!
It's been quite a while since you and I last spoke. Sorry to hear about your current challenge! I always say, "it's all part of the fun!"

It could be the Universes way of telling you to "take a break" as well. :0)

I sure it will all work out.
Best wishes!

Mark

You are right, Mark, long time no speak. I hope you are well and things are going better for than they have for me. Then again, it's all happen - now, time to move on :)

Well, at least you have a good attitude! :0)

I'm really sorry this is happening to you :/
Its good that you tried to do what you can. However, I have noticed, the more we focus on something specific, the more it weighs on us. It does sound like a bit of bad luck, but really, the luck is always there. Good or bad, we notice one side of luck or the other depending on the weight we give it. Of course, I'm not telling you anything you don't already know :) more or less echoing what you already said. Just my philosophy on it. Keep up your drive and thank you for sharing this!

Tim

Absolutely Timothy, I am not going to let a few hiccups mess up my week off and my 'good and creative' mood :)

Good evening Giulia,

I feel for you. This morning something similar happened to my little computer. It started beeping. I asked Google and now think it has to do with the motherboard, not good. Gave it to the clever computer boys in the shop close by and hope for the best.

All the best, Tetske

Dreadful stuff, Taetske. I'm still waiting to hear. I'm aware my laptop is past it's sell by date, but am not prepared for the expense for a new one just yet. Keeping fingers crossed for the pair of us, Taetske:)
