Hi all! nice to meet you :) my name is Cat, I am a graphic designer from New Zealand.

Recently I did a big trip around Asia, I travelled to 9 different countries in the space of 5 months, when I came back I jumped straight back into full time work but found it very hard to transition back to the 'real' world, something in me had changed and I felt this very strong urge in my soul, telling me that there was more to life than spending half my waking hours sitting behind a desk, working for someone else.
It was at that point that I became determined to free myself from the rat race, I vow to be financially free one day or die trying. At this point the fear of staying in this office job for the rest of my life far out weights the fear of failure!

I feel that I am destined for more in life, travelling in countries like India and Nepal really opened my eyes to the world out there. I feel if I have the time and money I can help others, I would really like to make a positive change in the world :)

Hey Cat,

You can definitely achieve these goals and I know that you will make it happen. The key is to dedicate yourself to your training here at WA. Follow the training, take action on what you learn, and ask questions when you have them.

It all starts with a goal - you can now start working toward it!

Talk to you soon,

Carson

Aloha CatC: I just "happened" upon your Profile and really loved your message very much! I'll try to reply to your message, but not necessarily in the order you've written it, for reasons you'll find out later.

Yes, we've all had this same very same urge in our souls that there's more to life than working for someone else to become rich from our own time and hard labor, or living in our current "rut" and "rat race," as you so appropriately put it. I, myself, felt this same way--and then some!

You mentioned, and I quote: "At this point the fear of staying in this office job for the rest of my life far out weights the fear of failure!" This is a very great, positive attitude to have! It's also a Winner's Attitude, as well! It shows that "fear of failure" is only a secondary fear and that anything else is even worse than that! This tells me that you are a risk-taker, which all of us should become. In other words, you'd much prefer to "deliberately choose" risks anytime over "playing it 'safe," as most people would rather do.

For many years, my attitude has always been that "playing it safe," "don't go way over your head," or even "leave well-enough alone because it has been proven, traditionally, to 'work," and other similar attitudes and beliefs are "strictly for the birds," i.e., the "scarecrow birds," specifically. How can anyone ever succeed by "playing it safe?" Playing it safe is just another way of saying, "Just stick to what you've always done, i.e., "Don't venture out of your comfort zone." If you don't "venture out" it can only guarantee that you'll stay in your current "rut" for the rest of your life--and that is an extremely long, long, "boring" time at that!

Yes, we are all destined for more of the good, positive things that life has to offer, every single one of us. Although the "great majority" of us are currently "living in a rut," the rest of us don't really have to "follow suit or rank!" I believe--and I'm sure that you believe, as well--that living in a "rut" is certainly no way for anyone to live.....period! Personally, I don't call that "living!" I constantly told my late wife: "Living like this, day after day, "pinching pennies" and "saving for a rainy day," is strictly for the birds!" We should set a goal to get out of this darned rut once and for all, and ASAP!" Unfortunately, I'm still here, but at least I finally "found the way out of my rut" and that is with the help of WA and the help and support of its family type community.

You ended your message with--and I also quote: "I feel if I have the time and money I can help others, I would really like to make a positive change in the world :)" Well, this is precisely how I feel deep in my heart. This is why I'm a part of WA to begin with. I always felt that the only way I could possibly help anyone, financially, at least, is to become financially secure--first. In other words, "helping the poor when you're just as poor yourself" is just as bad as "the blind leading the blind!" LOL! I used to imagine what I'd do if I were actually a millionaire and the answer was similar to yours: I'd be in the perfect position to help my close family members, friends, and even total strangers if need be to ease what they're going through--financially--at least, and even extending this donation thing to charities and even to other poor countries to help as many people as possible and to leave this world a much better world to live in than when I first "moved" here on Earth, i.e., "so many years go"--okay, I'll be totally honest: 76 years ago in 1939, when I was born here in Hawaii.

Just recently I came across a true story somewhere that during a time when tons of fish were dumped on shore by a major catastrophe or something, a boy was seen tossing as many fish as he could back into the ocean. An older guy seeing the boy said to him: You are totally wasting your time doing what you're doing because it's not gonna make any difference at all to those fish!" The boy said, as he tossed one fish into the ocean: "It made a huge difference to "that" fish!"

Anyway, CatC, I just want to wish you the very best in reaching all the goals in life you set for yourself and all the success possible. Finally, at one point you mention: "I vow to be financially free one day or die trying." To that I can only say: "Yes, you can be financially free one day, if you really focus completely on taking your training very seriously as I believe you are already doing, anyway, and really view all the videos and lesson tutorials and benefits that WA has to offer and you'll have "already" become a terrific success in your own online business--without having "to die trying," at all--because you would have already become so successful--while you're "still alive for many more years! Of course, by then, that "die trying" bit would have long ago been invalidated, nullified, neutralized, voided, i.e., "canceled out!" LOL!

Hi Roger, thank you very much for your kind words
I used to be like that too 'playing it safe', when we play it safe we don't fail or let ourselves down but by doing that we also never grow
for failure is a part of success

Yes I agree you are not living when you are living life that way, I feel like my work owns me! and that I just mearly surviving not living. So glad you and everyone else has found a way out! we only live life once so we have to make the most of our time here

I love your attitude and your quote on the blind leading the blind is very true! Im' sure you will achieve great things in this life! :)

love the story of the fish! it is very true I'm reminded of a quote - 'if you cant do great things do small things in a great way' every little kind deed affects everyone around us we are all connected :)

haha thanks roger, yes you are right! glad I don't have to 'die tying, thanks again for your kind words of encouragement, it has really bought a smile to my face :)
thank you for taking the time to write to me and I wish you all the best of luck to you on your journey to success

This is one of the very best places I have personally been in years and am sure it is for you too!
Having risen to 256 in the rankings in my fist month, I can assure you that this was achieved solely by following Kyle’s teachings exactly to the word. I would advise anyone who is new to ‘WA’ to just follow what Kyle teaches in his training’s and not try to do it their own way. “Re-inventing the wheel“, I believe it’s called 
I wish you every success in all you are striving for in WA, good luck,
Roger

It looks like you're moving along very nicely, Cat! I see you have your profile all setup and hopefully you've been engaging with the community a bit!

I'd love to get to know you and your income goals better so that I can do my best to set you up for success. Would you mind taking a minute to chime in and share here: I keep a pretty close watch on that thread (and so do the co-founders of Wealthy Affiliate, Kyle and Carson), so posting your income goals there will give us a much better idea of what we can do to help you!

And of course, let me know if there's anything I can help you with Cat :)

Hey Cat! I can't even imagine a 5 month long journey! My wife and I are a week away from closing out a one month vacation across Europe and we miss our home (and our dogs) so much!

I never worked harder in my entire IM career than when I had a job that I hated and felt like I had to break free of. I worked nights, weekends, early mornings, and all kinds of crazy hours that I can't imagine working today. I know it can feel helpless at times, but there really is no better motivation than what you've described here.

I wish you the best of luck, and if I can help you with anything as you continue working along and working, don't hesitate to reach out! I'm happy to help any way that I can.

Hey Cat! I wanted to start you off with a quick note that could SIGNIFICANTLY impact your success with Wealthy Affiliate. Read this entire message if you are serious about being successful in internet marketing (it's lengthy, but I'm not joking when I say that this advice could make or break your entire internet marketing career):

1) You'll need to work consistently and hard. There's going to be a lot to learn in the beginning and you may feel overwhelmed at a point, but keep pressing forward and you'll make it through. It happened to me and every other successful internet marketer at some point, and the only way to become successful in this industry is to push past that overload whenever you get there.

Do yourself a favor and commit to a number of hours that you can work each week right now. It doesn't have to be massive, but it should be more than 10 between evenings and weekends at least. Just remember the more you work each week, the faster you'll learn and draw closer to success.

After you've picked the number of hours you can work each week, commit to working that much for AT LEAST six months - a year would be better. You won't see results immediately in this industry, and being consistent is the key. Pick a number of hours you can work each week, then work those hours for at least six months. It's something you've probably never done in this industry, and this advice alone will make a HUGE difference in your chances at succeeding with internet marketing as long as you take it seriously and STICK WITH IT.

2) I recommend starting off with this training (which you can access with your free account): It just scratches the surface of the MASSIVE amount of helpful content in WA, but you'll get a good "feel" for the teaching style here and begin to see the power of all of the great things they're teaching here at Wealthy Affiliate.

3) DON'T FORGET ABOUT THE COMMUNITY. Two of the best places you can go to for help when you get stuck are the "Live Chat" and the "Classrooms" sections located on the panel to your left. You'll find direction and inspiration through the community here, which is one of the reasons I recommend WA so highly.

4) Finally, you don't ever have to upgrade to the premium account here at Wealthy Affiliate if you don't want to. You'll have limited access using your free account for as long as you wish. HOWEVER, if you're serious about internet and affiliate marketing then you should invest in the premium membership for AT LEAST one month. You could look back on it years from now and see it as a pivotal moment in your internet marketing career, but you never will if you don't at least give it a try.

Check it out for a few days though - you don't need to upgrade right now. Make sure it's a good fit for you, and if you upgrade within the first 7 days you'll receive your first month's membership at more than 50% off. I keep my membership active and recurring every month so I can be here for the people I refer like you, so realize that I'm putting my money where my mouth is here!

On top of that, if you upgrade to a premium membership at the discounted rate within the first 7 days I have a special bonus EXCLUSIVE to people that join WA through me and upgrade within the first week of creating their free account. This bonus will show you how to be twice as successful with WA or any other legitimate internet marketing program out there and gives you some very valuable video lessons (which I recorded for you personally, of course) to ensure you get off to the right step in your internet marketing business.

I keep a close watch on the list of people that upgrade from starter to premium, so I'll send the bonus your way within 24 hours. If you upgrade and don't receive it within that time frame for some reason, just post on my WA profile and let me know!

I don't offer that bonus so you'll spring for the membership and make me more money, I offer the bonus just in case you needed that tiny "push" to make sure you invest in this training because I know that you will use for the rest of your IM career and it could change your life. I've referred hundreds of people now and I have NEVER had anyone tell me they were dissatisfied.

Best of luck to you! You're about to embark on a journey that could change your life forever, so make sure you take it seriously, put in the time and effort, and expect great things in return!

You know where to find me,
Ian Pribyl

P.S. I know I've thrown A LOT of information your way in this message, but I wanted to give you one last thing. Here is a video tour of the members' area to help ensure you get the most out of your free membership as possible: http://youtu.be/NDmMcMtMB8c

Sorry for sending so much your way at once, I just want to set you up for success as much as I possibly can!
